    Those Blind Guys
A Big Project Well Done I needed to replace every blind in the house. The opportunity to review ideas, products and colors in my home allowed me make decisions with confidence. It had been 20 years since the last time I ordered window blinds, wow, a lot has changed. Instillation was arranged to met our schedule. The installer was excellent, removed old blinds and hardware, and fill old screw holes where needed. Working with Those Blind guys was an excellent experience.

    Jacksonville Blinds & Shutters
He was very good. He was on time. His quote was good. It's just we had experience with another company that's part of a franchise. We reached out to them and just ended up going with them instead. His quote was free. He actually came out to another house and quoted me there. He did such a nice job I had him quote this house. Everything was right in line, but we just felt a little bit more comfortable with the other company because we used them in the past, and just decided to go that route. He was personable, he took all the measurements, and told us what our options were. Since I already kind of knew what I wanted I basically shared with him this is kind of what I am looking at. He showed me a couple of samples because I had two different options. It just boiled down to comfort level, but I would certainly call him again. There is nothing they could do differently it all just boiled down to price at the end of the day. He was just a little bit higher.

    BUDGET BLINDS
Roger owns the company and he is the one who comes out and does the estimates. Roger did a great job. I was not happy with the gentleman that he has working for him, he is a younger man, that did the did the installation. Roger had to come out 2 weekends ago and we literally had to redo the installation of every single one of my windows because the gentleman just didn't do what Roger said he was supposed to have done. I am not happy at all with the installation. He is professional, he is knowledgeable, but at the end of the day I was not happy with the installation. I knew I was going to get a quality product because I had used Budget Blinds when I lived up in Virginia. But this particular gentleman that he had working for him I just didn't care for his installation techniques. He could train his installer better or hire somebody else. He is a professional guy. I probably would use them again in the future if the same guy wasn't doing my installation.

    Those Blind Guys
3 gentlemen showed up on time to install 6 blinds on my back patio windows.  It took them less than 45 minutes. They cleaned up behind themselves and instructed me on how the child proof feature worked. I was very happy with their service and would use them again,

    Mastercraft Shutters & Blinds
The craftsmanship and quality of the shutters are excellent. Ivan pays attention to all details. He and his crew are polite, professional and punctual. This is the second job that Ivan has completed for our family. His prices are lower than his competitors. I would strongly recommend Mastercraft Shutters.

    Mr. Handyman Serving Greater Jacksonville
He was great!!!! I was very impressed and felt like a queen every time I thought of a new project that I had forgotten about and was worried he may not have time but he was very accommodating. I felt a load off my shoulders as I no longer had to worry about my mounting To Do List that I never seem to have time to tackle!

    Those Blind Guys

Chuck and John were excellent to work with, very professional. Chuck did the showing and ordering of the various window treatments that their company can provide. The products we chose were of the highest quality, manufactured by Graber. Graber provides a life time warranty on all the products we selected. We needed to have two of the Honey Comb cordless blinds replaced due to a operational malfunction. Chuck reordered the blinds needed with no questions asked and John re-installed them in a timely manner.

John does an excellent job as the primary installer, very professional and precise. Chuck and John work great together to provide  great products and service. They keep you informed during the ordering and manufacturing process. They provide great follow-up to insure that the customer is pleased with the product that their company provided.

    Mastercraft Shutters & Blinds

My wife and I purchased a home with arch-top windows at several locations.  We decided that plantation shutters would be a good option for appearance, light control and privacy.  We invited Ivan to visit the house and give us a proposal for shutters.  He arrived on time and quickly measured all of the windows in the house that might be near or long term candidates for shutters.  He then showed us samples of available shutter styles and options, and provided pricing to shutter the windows we specified.  The cost was reasonable considering that the shutters would have to be custom made to fit each window.

The shutters  were installed today and we are completely satisfied.  They are solidly constructed, function well, fit perfectly and look great.  We expect to add plantation shutters in a few additional locations in the future, and will not hesitate to use Mastercraft again.

    Claudettes Decors
Claudette  called and made an appointment and came out very soon after I contacted her.  We looked at all the windows and she came up with a plan on what we should do with each window.  She had fabric samples with her on her truck and I was able to pick out fabrics that day.  She measured and gave me her estimate that same day.  She told me when to expect the drapes to be ready and they were done right on time.
Claudette was such a joy to work with and was attentive to my needs and desires.  The day of installation, she came with the installer and worked along side to be sure that things were done according to plan.  The installer was just as pleasant as Claudette. I would definitely work with her again. The drapes are beautiful and I am very pleased with the outcome.

    Claudettes Decors
Overall, the experience with Claudette and eventually her installer, Len, was one of the best contractor experiences we have had not only in Jacksonville, but also in comparison to the ten other cities we have lived in. The process started with us trying to find a decorator to help with custom installed window coverings and draperies. Our windows are normal width, but extra long. We tired a friend's referral, but that person said it would take months. We then tried a large well known furniture and room design retailer in the Town Center, but they were twice as expensive, had half the choices as Claudette, and we're going to take twice as long. While we had used Angie's list for basic things like trash removal, we were unsure about how helpful it would be with something so expensive and specific to our home. However, we thought the Angie's list reviews for Claudette were so detailed, specific, and exactly relevant to our needs that we should at least give her a try and have her come over and do an estimate. While she has a decent website, I wasn't sure which would be the best way to contact her so I both called and sent an email. I contacted her both ways on Sunday and by Monday morning, she had emailed me back and we set up a time to do a call so that both my wife and I could talk to her on the phone and explain our interests. She listened really well and then suggested an hour and half appointment and then worked with us on what would work best for our schedule a few days later in our home. When she came over on a weekday morning, she was clearly a professional who had the knowledge and the supporting materials to get the job done. Her van is amazing. It is professionally outfitted and stocked with sample materials, drapery hardware rods, and books and catalogs of many of the top manufacturers who produce window coverings and draperies. We liked that she approached the appointment not with a focus on trying to sell us something, but on her trying to first understand our style and design wishes. Having said that and when she had fully assessed the type of styles we liked and were comfortable with, she also gave us her opinion as an expert decorator. Impressively, she gave that opinion with a professional competence yet did so in a personal and comfortable manner. Her fabric sample books were perhaps the best part of her material offerings. We really wanted to see as many things as possible in our house because we had just moved here in 2013 and we're not use to the Florida home styles and really wanted to see what went well in our home. Unlike some homeowners, we didn't have something specific in mind. We wanted her advice and her samples to help us get to our desired end state. Her samples went beyond just swatches although again, she did have a lot of swatches both in terms of colors, texture, and styles. Her samples also included how the roman shades worked mechanically to include how many rods were in each shade, the width and length of the panels, and how the folds would look on our particular windows. We also liked the fact that as we would settle on an approach, she would politely offer other alternatives to really sharpen the confidence in our decision. Interestingly, her alternatives weren't always more expensive. For instance, we said we wanted roman shades and she said those were pretty expensive because of the mechanical aspects and the custom fitting, etc. She offered an alternative that would have looked just as nice, but would have been something similar to what I almost could have done as a do it yourself type project. I found that pretty honest because once she said that, I started to consider maybe only doing the drapes through her and doing the window shades on my own. So I gave her a lot of credit for having our finances in mind and really trying to be our designer versus just trying to sell and/or up-sell us. The appointment took almost three hours and during which she measured everything very carefully and then wrote out an estimate on on a professional designer form and clearly stated what our cost would be and gave us a time estimate of 6-8 weeks. She then said we could take as much time to think about it and didn't pressure us with any stories like some contractors do (e.g., we are really busy and you should book today type of story). Claudette then purposely walked out to her van to give my wife and I some time to consider. We decided based on all of the positive impressions (and the other referrals from Angie's list) to commit right then.We paid half up front by check. During the intervening 6-8 weeks, we corresponded a few times by email which we initiated. Actually, that is one thing we would have liked which would have been her checking in with us assuring us everything was on schedule versus us having ask her for an update. Even though this was an Angie's list referral, we still didn't know her beyond our one appointment so her initiating the correspondence back to us around the four week mark would have been good. At any rate, we worked out the best time for installation. We actually picked a day at the nine week mark for installation. Unfortunately one week prior to that, Claudette called and apologized that the drapery rods were still on back order and gave us some options to install the roman shades right away or install with different drapery hardware. We delayed the whole thing by a week. On installation day, Claudette and Len showed up right on time. It was obvious that they had worked together several times before and had a good professional partnership. As part of the cost, Len also patches and paints the holes left behind from the existing drapery and shade hardware as long as you provide the paint. While I have done some DIY patchwork and paint, I could tell he was much better at it and the end result was very good. Can't even tell there was a prior drapery rod there before. In short, professional installation done by a professional. The three roman shades took 40 minutes to install. The drapes took about two hours. At Claudette's recommendation, we raised the drape height to almost the ceiling to take advantage of our high ceilings and which from a design effect definitely enhances the room's look both in terms of style and visual space. Len was very careful in how and where he drilled and installed, checking to ensure he wasn't doing any harm to foundations, etc. Like any project, there was a small hiccup: on the length of one of the drapery rods (it was about an inch too long because of the big end cap we had chosen), but Len had the equipment in his van to rectify the situation which again was the mark of a professional installer (versus some "contractors" who ask me to borrow my tools when they encounter something unexpected on the project). During the installation, Claudette also offered some other ideas on the rooms design outside of what she does such as color and style of rugs and furniture pieces. The overall end result is simply amazing. We are so happy with the room that we spend the vast majority if our time in. Our living room now looks more airy, complete, and highlights other architectural designs of the room (chandelier, crown molding, colors and artwork).Claudette really helped get us to the best color, texture, type, and style for our roman shades and drapes. Objectively, our friends and family who have come over have said the same thing and all have asked for Claudette's information. While we were happy to refer Claudette (and Len) to friends and family, we also felt that since we found Claudette's Decors through Angie's List that we should (and are definitely happy to) share with all of you as well.
