    Warning! Do not use this company! After a good first impression, that's where it all falls down. The dispatch and supervisory staff are below par on every level. Not ONE single return call despite many attempts. No show, No call. This company is the one assigned by my home warranty company and the technician actually ended up VOIDING the entire warranty because of the wrong diagnosis of the problem. The unprofessional conduct, complete disregard for customer service, and complete unwillingness to correct the problem. The utter complacency and arrogance is staggering. Don't be fooled. Go elsewhere, save yourself the heartache and frustration ahead of time.

    We have been using them for 10 or 11 years. In fact, I know the owner by his first name. We bought a new air conditioning unit from them. They did the installation on the new one and got a 10-year warranty with it. They are very nice people. The office manager just got married, it was in the paper. We have a service contract with them and they come out twice a year.

    It did not go very good. After the 1st scheduled appointment, they did not show up. I needed heat so I called them and informed them how cold it was! They finally came another day and informed us we needed a new unit. Another company informed us that our ducts were not connected however this company told us that it was. This company are liars and cheap! They took my $5,500 AC unit (that i had for 2 years) and installed a $4,300 unit. They charged me $4,500 + the cost of my AC unit that they took. They are thieves!

    Lousy - he was supposed to get a permit and did NOT, he used the wrong size copper tubing which has cost us $1,000 to have remedied. We contacted him and told him there were problems. He said he would fix it the following weekend. We sat home waiting for him, no show and no phone call. We contacted him again and he said he was sick all weekend, we asked why he didn't at least call, no reply. Same thing the next weekend. Still have not heard from him! When he made the change over, it took him three months to change the thermostat to the correct one after multiple calls and getting angry with him!

    On June 3, 2016 David and another man showed up as scheduled. We had requested an a/c clean and service only. Neither man was dressed as you might expect for a technician; they were dressed more like salesmen with clean shoes, nice shirts, etc. The weirdest thing is they were at our home with us for 3-1/2 hours, but spent less than 15 minutes looking at and explaining to us the condition of our unit. The coils were really caked with debris and dust. This was why we had them out in the first place. These guys did not even bother to use a brush to remove any debris so they could see the coils. Instead they tried to convince us that the only way to clean it would be to spray it with a harsh chemical that would bubble up and then hose it off. David then said that they would be doing us a disservice to do that, because if they did, the chemical would destroy our coils since they were (in their opinion) in such bad shape. At that point David said that he was actually refusing to do any service on our unit because if they did and the coils got destroyed then we would still have to get a new unit. He was adamant about not being willing to service the unit. We then went inside and we sat in the living room while they gave us their sales pitch and estimate. The paper they gave us, which we still have 8 months later, says: coil completely impacted, pressure is low. They quoted $4550 for a 3 ton 14 seer unit plus a new concrete pad, if needed. Freon replacement was NOT on the estimate, which explains other reviews that express surprise when charged extra for freon. At the bottom in big letters where the customer would normally sign to accept the quote, it says Estimate Only. During the 3-1/2 hour visit David and buddy were very cordial and easy to talk to. I was in shock that they stayed so long but let them go on to see how far they would go. We told jokes and it was a friendly visit, but right from the start we knew something didn't seem quite right. We told them that we were going to get another estimate and would call if we decided to move forward. Another red flag was that we never even received a follow-up call from them. We contacted someone else who cleaned the coils for us. His total charge was less than $50 and it took him less than an hour. The unit has been working perfectly ever since which is for the last 8 months! It is still working great. It made it through the entire summer and we've even used a/c this winter when we've had hot Florida days. AVOID THE AC GUYS! Run the other way.

    supposed to inspect ducts, never showed up (no phone call). i called them when scheduled window expired they rescheduled, never showed up (no phone call). i called again told service manager on the phone will call right back (no phone call). i called back told them to cancel, service manger gets on phone with excuses. they went to wrong house nobody there told them i called, blah blah blah.

    The unit continually broke down through out the entire warrenty period. While they made multilpe service calls under the warrenty it was never right.  When the warrenty period was over they began charging for service on a unit that was never right to start. During the warrenty I requested replacement believing I sold a lemmon. I was refused.  Every time I called they tried to side step sending a service person insisting I just didn't understand how the unit work. Everytime I finally got the sevice person here it was confirmed that there was a necessary repair. When they started charging for service calls. I stopped using them. Another company came and serviced it  one time. After the other company fixed  it I had no more issues for years.

    This is the third time I have used Air Care Heating and Cooling in Lecanto. As usual, they were on time, professional and did a thorough job for a very reasonable fee. Marty showed up as scheduled, checked out both of my systems, thoroughly cleaned the coils on the interior and exterior units and checked the freon levels in both systems. He worked steadily for over two hours and charged $113, which I thought was very reasonable. My two systems are older, but are in good condition. No one at this company has ever tried to upsell me any service I didn't need. When the time comes to replace my existing systems, I won't call anyone else. Just an FYI - There are a number A/C companies in this area with simlar names. I highly recommend this company.

    H.E. Smith ran a promotional ad in our local newspaper with outstanding financing options. Our old A/C unit was almost 18 years old,so it was only a matter of time before it gave out. We went to talk to them and get some information. Diana was very helpful in answering all of our questions. There was no pressure to push a sale, just gave us the quote of what they would do . I made a few phone calls to get estimates from other local dealers  for the same make and model unit and they all charged more for the unit, but also extra for the electrical hook up set up and more.  The quote we got from H.E.Smith included everything. We asked for a installation date one week later. Two of there men got here on time ,they were very professional and worked as a team. They removed the old unit & installed the new unit in a very short time.  I must say it was a pleasure watching them do their work. Everything from start to finish was a very pleasant experience  and I would recommend them . After they left I called the office and spoke to Diana to tell her how happy I was with the installation. About an hour later the owner,Mr Bill Buchanan called me back to thank us for our business and wanted to know exactly why I  was so impressed with the installation.  They did a great job .

    They did a great job and did everything we agreed on.  Right after giving us a quote, they came back out and installed a temporary window unit to help us make it through the weekend.  Very nice company to do business with.
