Water Softener Installation And Repair reviews in Homestead

They absolutely RIP US OFF. Before they came out I asked them if they knew how to Connect the Water Filter I even told them. I even told them I would send a YouTube link that showed them EXACTLY how to install the Water Filter. The main office totally ignored my request for the plumber to watch the Instructional Video so he would know how to put it together and bring what supplies he needed to save time. NO this Guy they sent out had NO idea what he was even there for. I tried to show him the instructions, He waved me away and he insisted he knew what to do but needed to go to Home Depot for Supplies for 2 HRS.@$200.00. Made a mess of pipes looking nothing like the instructions. The pipes went so many different ways it looks like a Roller Coaster after 7 HRS & over $900.00. "Plumber" gave my husband a bill telling my husband he was finished. My Husband not knowing paid the bill. "Plumber" had not done the job the way it was suppose to be done according the the instructions and had left off the Ultra Violet Light that was with the water tanks and tubing. I called Douglas ORR and told them that he forgot to put the UV light on and that he had done a horrible job I told them I did not want him back out to my home. They sent someone else out that i most say at least listened to what i had to say Looked at the job this other idiot had done and said he would have definitely done it different. He told me he would put the UV light on the wall but he would have to come back out because since he had done it wrong and left the light off he would have redo some of the pipes and have the company order a part so he could connect the light to the Water Filter System. He then handed me a bill for $250.00 saying they waved the travel fee. OH HOW THOUGHTFUL OF THEM!!!! More then 2 weeks later I called and asked when they were going to come out and finish the Job sorry" The part has not come in" Truth they had not even ordered it.. Another week passes and they call and tell me that they need to come out today because the guy that did the UV light was going on Vacation the next week and they thought I might want to have it done by him before he left again "How thoughtful of them" I did like this guy very much and he knew what he was doing. He looked at the instructions so I said yes please send "him" out. He connected the UV Light to the pipes of course taking extra time because he had to cut pipes and put in new ones where the first idiot put them in wrong. I like the fool I was thought I would not be charged for the time it took the plumber to fix the idiots mistakes and only be charged for the time to connect the UV Light to the new pipes. Not even close $380.00 more. I STILL DO NOT KNOW if the tanks are connected the way the are suppose to be since the pipes are going in so many different directions. Now I have to pay to have my water test to see if it is working right. Aquasana recommended another company that connects their filters in Miami for $1200.00 for them but since I had been used Douglas Orr many times before to fix and replace my Well Pump over the last 7 years. I foolishly decided to go with them and paid the price for going with someone that did not know what they were doing even though they told me they did when I called to asked them. I will never trust to use them again

I didn't see the work for its a remote rental property, but I'm assuming it was a good job. The first time they came out they fixed they said they replaced the thermostats in the hot water heater, but my tenant stated the problem still persisted after they left. They did come out after I called to revisit the issue, and my tenant stated everything was working fine after the second visit. I don't know exactly what was done at that point. When I asked for the invoices I got two. one states the thermostats and elements in the hot water heater were replaced, and second invoice was just a blank invoice with no balance and no description. Sort of pointless to provide that. This cost me 188.00. Which I thought was steep, but decided to go with it anyway.
When the second issue occurred with regards to hooking up a line, I decided to call them ans ask how much it would cost to put a new filter in, they said they couldn't give me a price until they see it. I understood that, but AT NO POINT DID ANYONE, AT ANYTIME, STATE THAT 188.00 WOULD BE THE MINIMUM CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!! So when they came out, and basically told me they were going to hook the line up, they said it was going to be 188.00. Its a rental, I need to make the tenant happy, they were there, but I will not use this company again. There are too many other A list plumbers I can call to use them. I also asked them if they would honor any AL coupons for their company, and they said no. My biggest issue with this company is they lack discretion for repeat customers. My rental is really close to their business, I was a repeat customer, I only needed a line re-connected back up, and they charged me almost 200.00 for that. Its a shame. There might have been a hours worth of work including the drive time and the phone call conversation. I understand charging more if you do good work, but this is completely obscured.

First appointment, for service on outside water system, (cylinder and time clock.) Cleaning the inside of cylinder is additional monies, not included in Angie price.
170.00 Second call back for changing all filters on reverse osmosis and inspecting equipment.
The employee was professional, polite and knowledgeable within his field. I would use this company again. But make sure to ask detail questions about exact costs for additional repairs

Chris (technician that conducted the work) arrived on time based on a phone call from the office indicating he was on the way to our house.  He had all the tools, equipment, and tools needed to install a water softener and hot water heater.  We had planned this install months prior to his arrival, so Chris had already conducted an assessment of the work a month prior to the install.  This was beneficial to ensure Chris knew what was needed to bring to the worksite prior to his arrival.  This was the key to a successful installation.  Chris installed the water softener and hot water with ease and expertly replaced the piping to each. The water softener is located outside by the water cutoff valve at the house wall.  He installed a new ball valve as a cutoff valve that replaced the original gate valve which was an upgrade to the plumbing system to our house.   He also routed the hot water tank drain and the catch pan (located underneath the hot water heater) to the garage.  The hot water heater is located inside the house.  This was an important aspect of the job because the original hot water heater drained to the inside of the house in the closet where it is located.  Additionally as an unrelated job item, Chris patched a hole around an outside water facet.  This water facet was previously replaced but the mortar around the facet was not replaced.  Chris patched the hole with hydraulic cement without charge.  We were extremely impressed with the quality of work Chris performed.  It validated our assumption, that conducting this job needed to be done by a professional vice a well-intentioned neighbor in order to have a properly and professionally installed water softener and hot water heater.  Well done Chris and Falcon plumbing.

They even deliver salt and add it to our water softener for the price of the salt.  I don't know about you but I can not lift those heavy bags of salt and neither can some of my neighbors.  What a blessing this company has been.
They handle all our water systems including pumps in our home from our pool, yard and water filtration system for our drinking water."
You Name it they do it.  If there was an  award for Customer Service I would give it to this Company!!!!! They have never let us down.

I was looking for a good, reputable company to provide me with a quote to install a water softener system in my home. I looked on Angie's List and found a few that service my area. While I was contacting them, my co-worker told me of a company he used to install a system in his home. Eagle Water Corporation. This company came recommended to him through a mutual friend of ours. My co-worker told me that his system is a reverse osmosis filter system with water softener. His home draws water from a well, not from the city. So his water is extremely hard and has alot of extra minerals.
Since I just needed a water softener that gets water from the city, I figure this was an easy project. I visited Eagle Waters' website and read through their site. It contained alot of information. I used the form on their contact page and received an email the same day from Jose Paulin, the owner.
Jose asked me to call him to speak about my needs and to set up an appointment. After the call, we set up an appointment for later in the week. Jose was prompt to the appointment and asked me questions about my water consumption, amount of people in the home, number of bathrooms, etc. He then took the information and presented several options that would work for me.
I settled on a water softener that is slightly larger than what I need. This is what I wanted just in case I ever fill the home's five bedrooms.. be it with more, future children or bring in my elderly parents.
On the day of the installation, Jose walked me through the work. He showed me the parts of the water softener and provided information about it. Jose and his employee dug a trench to access my existing water source. He then ran a new pipe to the water softener and another new pipe to the main water entry into the house. He provided me with outside access to regular city water and another for softened water. (Great to wash my vehicles and not get hard water stains!!) He painted all the new, exposed PVC pipes a gray color that matched my homes accent paint. This made the pipes look original! The other pipes were dug about 6 - 8 inches underground along the border of the home.
The work took about 4 - 4.5 hours. The finished product looks great behind my fence and is completely out of the way. Oh, and Jose had to re-work the A/C drain pipe. He did this perfectly and now the pipe isn't in the way. During the course of the work, he even replaced an existing pipe that had a small leak. He didn't need to do that as it was not his problem.. but he went beyond the call of duty in providing this fix. He added concrete pads for both the brine and water tank to set on. Overall, a very professional installation.

The process with Advance Water Products was very simple. I spoke to Steve on Friday explained what I was looking for and my current set up. He took time to explain my options and worked with me to find the best system to match my needs. The installation went very well. The system was exactly as he had described and met all my expectations. After they installed the system they demonstrated how the system worked and what I needed to do to maintain the system running.  When they were finished they removed all packing material and left the area clean. Steve and his team are very professional; they are punctual, work quickly and very efficiently.   I highly recommend Advanced Water Products and look forward to working with them for all my water needs. I also opted to take advantage of the monthly option to have them come out and replenish the salt in the tanks.

    • I am bidding out quotes for the installation of a Water Softener system in my home. A to Z wanted a $89 Diagnostic Fee for the quote. They stated the fee would be reimbursed if I choose them to install the water softener. So, it's without saying that if I choose the lower bidder, and it is NOT A to Z, I will have just lost my $89.
    • I contacted 7 companies and A to Z is the only one that wants to charge me this fee. In today's day and age, charging a diagnostic fee for a quote is like expecting someone to pay for shipping on something they purchased online. This mentality was the norm in say, 2000 - 2001, but not anymore... Consumers will not pay a diagnostic fee when they have such a large amount of companies at their disposal on sites like Angie's List and others that will offer this service for free.
