    I have a stunning antique chandelier that I took with me when I moved from my previous home. It needed some minor electrical work so I took it to Doug's Vacuum Center. I was absolutely appalled by the service I recieved. Not only were they incredibly rude and condescending, but they had the audacity to take three and a half weeks to split a single wire and "splice" it with electrical tape. And for the price I had to pay, electrical tape is completely unacceptable. Any novice can put a wire together with tape. I was expecting a professional grade job from what I assumed were professionals. Then, when my chandelier was returned to me, they had put a different chain on it. Wanting to keep the antique integrity of my fixture, I demanded my old chain back. They then claimed that I never brought the piece in with a chain and in the end, I left with no chain at all. The indignity, incompetence and essentially theft that I have endured is an outrage. I will under no circumstance ever patronize this establishment and would intensely urge anyone considering, to take their business elsewhere as well. The staff at Doug's Vacuum Center are not only disrespectful and have no value for their customers, but they are undeniably incompetent at what they do.

    Marvin is a real craftsman. He carefully explained what he was doing then performed the work expertly. I can not praise him highly enough. The project took about 4 weeks from commencement to completion. Marvin is a gentleman. His word is his bond. A few things went wrong as they will on any project. He just fixed them without drama. The tile work was difficult and superb. Details matter to Marvin. When the vanity plumbing was slightly off position, he tore out the wall and rerouted it. I did not realize how careful caulking can finish a room until Marvin finished. I am very happy with Marvin's service and professionalism.

    I must say that my experience with this company is by far the best I have had with any handyman or contractor.  Armando and his team were professionals at all times.  He arrived on time to do a walk through and provide his estimate which I find quite rare in South Florida.  The attention to detail was outstanding.  Everything I asked for was done and then some.  I was made to feel that my job was his priority.  It did not matter how many times I asked questions or called him; Armando took the time to address all of my concerns.  I also appreciate the fact that I was advised when and where I could save money because he understood that I was working with a budget to restore a foreclosed property that is now my dream home.  I will continue to use his services because I trust his work ethic; he has shown himself to be a man of integrity.  SFL Property Maintenance turned my house into a home in less than two weeks!

    We had a great experience.  Jim was very friendly and gave us great customer service.  The work performed was completed excellently.  Jim called us and inspected the work performed to ensure it was completed to our satisfaction.  The workers were very knowledgable and walked us through each of the items completed.  The work we had completed was an 80 gallon solar water heater, 2 attic fans, 24 speed variable pool pump, insulation blown into the attic, put in a new digetal thermostat, LED lighs replaced in all of hour house light fixtures, and the doors seals changed out on 3 of our doors. THIS IS THE BEST SOLAR COMPANY IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA!  I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM COMPLETE WORK ALL OVER THE STATE1

    We never got passed the "Charge for Estimate" question...

    I emailed Mister Sparky to find out if they could do this work at my Mother's house. Mind you, I have used Mister Sparky in the past, (see my reviews) and I always had steller things to say about them. So, I though this was going to be quick and painless.. Boy, WAS I WRONG.

    For starters, I like email and messages. They keep actual words and lessens the opportunity for miscommunications. I messaged Ana using the above message button and I asked if she can do the work mentioned above. She responded with the following message:

    "Hi Jeffrey. Appointments are scheduled via telephone at (305) 251-3440.
    Please call our office and we will be glad to assist you. Thank you."

    Well, I didn't ask for that. I don't want to schedule anything right now because I didn't know if they would charge me for the visit.. So I proceeded to reply back if they charged for estimates. "Is there a charge for estimates".. 
    Her response:
    "Hi Jeffrey. Appointments are scheduled via telephone at (305) 251-3440.
    Please call our office and we will be glad to assist you. Thank you."

    THE SAME CANNED MESSAGE!

    She then called my cellphone and left a condescending message... She told me to call her because "apparently, I need to explain to you again how Mister Sparky works...."

    EXCUSE ME? No, no one talks to me like that.... I simply asked a question: Are you going to charge me for the visit. Your Angie's List page CLEARLY states.. "Ask for Details". I did that and get this rude, condescending message? No, there's 20 other Electricians on here. You lost my future business, my parent's future business and a few more who read my review and know that they don't have time for condescending innuendo messages. If anyone would like to hear the message left for me by Ana, please contact me. I will send it via .wav file.  And I won't charge you for it. You don't even need to ask.

    UPDATE: July 22, 2013:
    My persistence is for a reason. I like emails.. I like paper trails.. for this VERY REASON. Now, Angie's List and all these reviewers have a record of your poor customer service. If you do not want customer to contact you via messages, here's an idea... ASK Angie's List to remove it from this page! By the way, you do love the word "telephonically".. I wonder if that was a canned response as well? You are a joke. Your customer service is a joke. And this response is a joke. Also, you just updated the "Estimate" section.. Now it says to call the office. When I messaged you originally, it stated "Ask for details". I'm sure a quick call to Angie's List will confirm that it was recently changed by you. I'm adding UNETHICAL to your list of character traits. You don't fool me.

    Ralph showed up exactly at the time we had arranged for the work to be done. He was quick and efficient but still paid attention to detail.  He was professional yet friendly and did great work. I would hire him again.

    J.C. was the technician's name. He was punctual, courteous, efficient and cared about his work. He was very patient with me having to keep my dog on leash while he worked on our back patio. We have plans to continue using this company for our electrical service needs.

    Turns out it was a simple fix and I was thrilled that the service technician, Harold would not charge me for the simple repair (basically it was just resetting the power outlet that the Jacuzzi was connected to.
     
    He could have said it was something more complicated and charge me, but he was totally honest. I only wish every trade was this honest.
    I was so impressed that I hired Harold to install garage coach lights, which I also thinking of having done. He took the time to explain why led coach lights were best in energy efficiency. The work was completed quickly and he cleaned up after himself. I could not be happier or more thrilled with their entire operation! No doubt I will be happy to hire Mr. Sparky again.

Very professional, knowledgeable.  I hate giving A's, but I really couldn't think of any reasons to pull this company/technician down to good instead of excellent.  Their business card went right on the side of my fridge for any future electrical needs.  Very happy with this company.
