Irrigation System reviews in Homestead

Exceptional. Peter listened to my ideas and concerns. He followed through with great care and expertise. I first needed the old dying landscaping - that was installed when the house was built - to be removed. it was interesting that some of the plants and trees, when dug up, were still in the plastic pots. that may be part of the reason nothing would grow properly... Greenstar and their great crews removed all the old shrubs, prepared the ground and property, spent a lot of time properly planting then new items (digging through grading and coral rock) in order to give the new plants and trees the care they deserve. also, midway through the process, which was the proper time, the irrigation was installed for the new plants, trees, and entire lawn. I really appreciated the attentiveness by Peter and his team of crews. always willing to answer questions and take the extra step to make sure I was happy with the results. before I had Greenstar come out to give me an estimate, I called 2 other local landscape companies, who came out, discussed the landscaping needed, said they would email a quote back to me -- they never contacted me again. (neither were from Angie's list). I was pleased that Peter and his company were truthful, prepared, and did what he promised! now that being said, what I was asking for was not a small project, time and energy wise, and Peter was very clear up front what the costs and time would be. there were no surprise regarding the costs and time needed. my real surprise was how wonderful everything looked with it was complete. beyond my expectations!

First appointment, for service on outside water system, (cylinder and time clock.) Cleaning the inside of cylinder is additional monies, not included in Angie price.
170.00 Second call back for changing all filters on reverse osmosis and inspecting equipment.
The employee was professional, polite and knowledgeable within his field. I would use this company again. But make sure to ask detail questions about exact costs for additional repairs

We had our system worked on several times and was never fixed properly.  After seeing the reviews on Angie's List I gave Greenstar a call.  Peter came out and inspected the system.  He told us it would need to be replaced at a cost of $2500.  At first we thought that was a little high, but after adding up how much we had put into it with disappointing results we agreed.
We could not be more pleased.  The crew was here every morning, working in the sweltering June heat and taking very few breaks.  They were pleasant and professional.  Theo was very patient with all my questions and when the job was completed, he walked me through the yard showing me how they should work and reminding me to call them is there was a problem.
    I would recommend highly Greenstar.

This was originally a special deal through Angie's List.  It took a couple of weeks to get them out here but it was during the Easter season.  Peter came here during a time when my husband could meet with him.  Our irrigation system was installed when we built our home in 1996.  My husband has been fixing the individual heads over the years.  Peter offered us two deals: $1500 for a "bandaid repair" and $2500 for a complete overhaul with a warranty (this included any Angie's list discounts).  We decided that it was time for a complete overhaul.  We agreed to a date and a crew of 4-6 men came early and left late.  They worked all over our yard replacing every sprinkler head (about 40) of various sizes.  There was one problem with a broken line under some tree roots.  It was late and they hadn't gotten it completed but said they would come back to fix it.  We went ahead and gave them a check for $2,500. (He preferred the check over the credit card but said he would take a credit card if necessary.) I started to worry that we might not see them again but two men came back for two more days during the same week until they got the line working properly. Since then one head wasn't working properly and they came out and repaired it.

We called on Friday, March 13 (morning) to have our analog timer replaced that controls the timing and zoning of our lawn's irrigation system.  The timer was very old and had not been used in at least last four years.  A technician arrived on Saturday, March 14 at ~9:30 am.  He replaced the timer to our complete satisfaction.  He took the time to teach us how the timer worked, how to make adjustments, and the explained features of the components.  In addition, our two dogs had dug up a portion of the irrigation system the night before (Friday, March 13.)   Because Greenstar had repaired and upgraded our irrigation system in our front and backyard on Wednesday, March 11 due to years of not using the system, the technician repaired the damage and buried the irrigation piping deeper into the ground.  He spent approximately an hour repairing the damage caused by our dogs.  Although we were prepared to pay for time and materials needed to make this repair, Greenstar did not charge us for the repair.  The only charge was for the replacement of the timer.  We are extremely grateful to Greenstar for ensuring we have a fully functional irrigation system.  The system is impressive due to the quality of parts used and the 100% coverage it provides to our lawn.  Thank you Greenstar!

Greenstar Irrigation is one of the most responsive companies we have ever done business with. Our message was responded to almost immediately. Peter came out to assess our system, sent our contract and the work was completed. His staff worked all day and were professional, knowledgeable, and respectful of cleaning up the work area before leaving.

They were very courteous and very professional. They checked all my sprinklers and told me I did have some problems. He gave me an estimate and I had him do the repairs. I thought the price was a little high, but they had to do some digging. I've never had a yard before, so I think their prices are comparable.

Stay away! Absolutely no service after the sale. Zero. I had an issue with the sprinkler they installed and I asked Terry the manager for help. Flat out refused to send a technician to address my issue, even if I paid for the service call. it just wasnt important to him and said it would be a waste of his time. Proceeded to lecture me on the county's watering days that had nothing to do with why I called. Told me if I didn't listen to what he had to tell me that he would not talk to me at all. Extremely unprofessional. Needs a serious lesson in customer relations and how to communicate with customers. Obviously for this company the customer does not come first and customer satisfaction is of no interest to him. He hung up on me. But they're very happy to take $800 for a low end timer and a rain sensor. H*** of a way to treat a 100% disabled vet or any customer for that matter. Friendly warning to consumers. BBB is next.

Every time I call Water Pro with the dumbest questions and believe me I have had a few they give me the answers. They have talked me through problems over the phone so they wouldn't have to make a service call. This last time my water tank kept turning off when the service tech was here for the monthly service he called it in and that afternoon it was fixed. They don't try to upsell you and will actually talk you out of buying things if it really isn't necessary.

The previous work (7/11/14) met the original estimate without completing the job. This was anticipated as the system had not been operative for more than 10 years. We had been puzzled that one area of the lawn appeared to have no sprinklers at all. Even pacing off the spacing between where the heads supposedly should be proved unsuccessful. It was agreed that another estimate would be required to complete the job.
Bright and early this morning they were back. I had located 3 additional heads and had flagged them to save time. It was determined that these had not shown up due to blockages from the accumulation of roots and dirt over the years. Once they were replaced and pressure applied, several more breaks in the system were found. This would not have made my day, but these guys just took it in stride and carried on.
They also had to replace 2 of the new heads installed on their previous visit as my grove harvesting group managed to run over and crush them.
Exceptional work by an exceptional team. Water Pro will definitely be my provider of choice.
