Nelson Munoz was able to come to my house and diagnose the problem very quickly after only one electrical test. He was very nice and very professional and his visit lasted around 30 min. He told me that the main controller board for the freezer needed to be replaced and he also quoted me a price of $490.00 for the repair which included parts and labor which I agreed to. He did not have the part in his truck, so he said he would return with the part and repair the freezer the next day. I wrongly assumed that the reason for the high cost of the repair was the high cost of the control board, because there was no intense labor involved. According to Nelson, the repair was simple and only involved opening the refrigerator door, removing a panel in the front and replacing the control board inside, so I agreed. I also didn't ask how much the part would cost by itself. The next day he called before he arrived. He removed a panel, popped in the delicate circuit board (which was very tricky because it could easily break) after removing the old one and the freezer was fixed. He was present approximately 45 min or so. He gave me the 10.00 Angies list discount after writing up the bill in his truck. I admit that I didn't actually examine the bill until sometime after he gave it to me and departed, because I had already agreed upon the price. After he left I examined the bill and it showed $269.00 for the part and $225.00 for the labor! I understand that I am paying for his expertise, knowledge, and travel time, however the labor fee was excessive in my opinion for the work done. I would hire him again, however I will be more aware of his labor costs before agreeing to a price next time!

Talked with Paul who helped me diagnose a simple problem. He was super repsonsive and very easy to reach. He went far above and beyond the call of duty. He could have easily made a service call and a quick fix that would have cost me a lot of money. Instead he helped me over the phone, looked at a picture I sent, told me what to order to fix the problem. I ended up ordering a new knob and putting it on myself. I LOVE Paul and would use him again as well as ercommend his company.

So, long story but please read this,

This guy Marvin shows up to my home and diagnose my refrigerator issue as needing a new motherboard and he would call me with the price. I paid him $79 for the diagnoses which he said comes off the price of repair. A few days later he calls and says with parts and labor it would be $989. Right away I thought that was pretty expensive and that it should not cost that much but I really needed the thing fixed so I told him to order the part (I know, stupid on my end). He shows up with a motherboard for my refrigerator, installed it in about 10 minutes and charged me $989 for the install, $910 minus the $79. I wrote him the check...again stupid on my end and the refrigerator still did not work. He told me I needed a motor as well, which he did not diagnose in the initial check. When I asked him how much was it for part (motherboard) and labor he said he don't discuss pricing breakdown with the customer...that it was a flat fee. Of course, I did not feel comfortable with that so asked him again. He suggested that I was trying to "school him" on his business and I should not be worried about the pricing of the part. He left with the check. I felt like I had been ripped off and it did not sit well with me at all. I called Electrolux and found out that the part only cost $400 so he was trying to charge me $600 for labor. I called him and told him I found out how much the part cost and I don't believe that the price was fair at all. I told him I was not paying $600 for labor. He said that he would come get his part back and give me my check back. He showed up at my home around 9pm that night and removed the part. He said he had to charge me $79 again for coming to remove the part. I told him I was not given him an additional $79.

Now up to this point, clearly we had a disagreement on price and service but that's really not why I'm writing this review. I writing this review because when I told him I do not agree with paying an additional $79 for him coming to take the part out he started calling me all types of racial names and epithets. He told me next time hire f*#%ing Haitians. He said "I'm not giving your f*#%ing check back either. He try to slam my door walking out as I followed. I was afraid he may do something to my cars but he got in his vehicle and as he drove away he called me the N-word out of the passenger window of the car.

I had to restrain myself not to stoop to his ignorant level...and my kids where in the house as well for Spring Break. Please do not do any business with this company. It's ignorant people like this that make the world so tough for descent people to live. If you do not want to be serviced by an ignorant racist don't hire this guy.

I have a stunning antique chandelier that I took with me when I moved from my previous home. It needed some minor electrical work so I took it to Doug's Vacuum Center. I was absolutely appalled by the service I recieved. Not only were they incredibly rude and condescending, but they had the audacity to take three and a half weeks to split a single wire and "splice" it with electrical tape. And for the price I had to pay, electrical tape is completely unacceptable. Any novice can put a wire together with tape. I was expecting a professional grade job from what I assumed were professionals. Then, when my chandelier was returned to me, they had put a different chain on it. Wanting to keep the antique integrity of my fixture, I demanded my old chain back. They then claimed that I never brought the piece in with a chain and in the end, I left with no chain at all. The indignity, incompetence and essentially theft that I have endured is an outrage. I will under no circumstance ever patronize this establishment and would intensely urge anyone considering, to take their business elsewhere as well. The staff at Doug's Vacuum Center are not only disrespectful and have no value for their customers, but they are undeniably incompetent at what they do.

Paul was great. I called him at 9 pm the night before, because the dryer quit working when filled with wet clothes and surgery scheduled the next day. He called back by 9:15 pm and was scheduled to be here in the morning. I gave him the dryer model info, so he could be prepared.
He was prompt, friendly and helped us figure out why the element burned out. He educated us on the how the thing works and answered any questions. Paul came prepared with the parts needed.
Paul was laid-back and very human. :)

I have used Glyn's Service for at least 20 years.  This last time was for our refrigerator.  Although the noise and burning smell did not occur for the technician, he spent extra time running a diagnosis on the fridge.  It hasn't happened since.  I have used Glyn's for all our household appliances over the years and find them very reliable and experts in their field.

The man was very nice during the initial evaluation but I felt that what happened after that was underhanded and unprofessional. They diagnosed the problem and said they would order the necessary parts and follow up with me the following Tuesday. After I didn't hear back from them, I followed up that Friday for an update. They informed me that they would send someone right over.

Another technician then came over, took my unit apart, and concluded that my dryer was not fixable. They did apologize for misdiagnosing the problem but still charged me for the service call regardless.

Fast service. Answered call for service. He asked questions in a professional matter to understand possible loss. Notified me that he believes he knows what it is and picked up the part before coming to home. Upon arrival, he identified that it was in fact the part he purchased. Displayed knowledge also, by waiting a few minutes between unplugging and re-plugging in the unit so as to not cause electrical damage. Very fast, professional, and a reasonable price.

They examined the unit and advised me that the seal was broken and that it would cost more than the unit was worth to repair it which pretty much confirmed what I thought. They discounted the fee because they couldn't help, which I though was nice of them. I would definitely call them again.
