    Absolute Powder Coating
Very efficient process overall. Came to my house and picked up the patio furniture, presented me with all of their fabulous powder coat colors and fabric options, [for the cushions], and explained the process to me and gave me the approximate cost and time involved for completion. I paid a certain portion down, and paid the rest upon completion of the job when it was delivered back to me. They kept within the amount originally estimated, and within the time frame stated as well. So nice to have that professionalism here in south Florida, where it tends to be rare! The guys who came were very knowledgeable and helpful. The furniture turned out beautifully, even better than I had originally expected, and looks great in our "tiki room". We have gotten several compliments on it, and I would highly recommend Absolute Powder Coating to anyone who is thinking of having this done to their furniture!

    AAA Furniture Repair Service
When I called Steve he indicated that he was very busy and really didn't like repairing recliners. I told him I had purchased a new motor from furniture store and right away he said probably needed another part. He did agree to come to our condo however he stated he would charge a $125 diagnosis fee. I scheduled an appointment and he did come out a week later. He told me after diagnosing problem that it needed a push button and transformer. Total bill was $418.70. Within 24 hours the chair stopped working. My husband called him and he was not sure about the problem but would come again to look at it however he would charge another $125. Told him we felt this was outrageous since part must be defective. Still refused to come out unless he was paid again. We had someone else repair the chair and it works fine.

    Swiss Woodwork Inc
They did a spectacular job and transformed the piece into a beautiful piece of furniture. They also repaired the drawer slides, redid worked and repaired the drop down desk top hardware, replaced the desktop service wood insert, etc. They picked up the furniture and delivered back the finished product after only 3.5 weeks. They asked us to stop buy their shop during the process to show us several potential finishes on the actual piece and to determine which we liked best. Their attention to detail was amazing and in the greatest traditions of the Swiss craftsmanship and highest quality standards. Both Philip and Steve were super and take obvious pride in their work products. We will use them again for future furniture refinishing needs.

I recently completed a restoration project with Philippe M. at Swiss Woodwork in Pompano Beach. The project consisted of restoring and refinishing a full dining room set, antique tables with wood marquetry, legs on a wing back chair and a Lane hope chest that was heavily water-damaged. All pieces required extensive work. During the entire scope of the project, he was very willing to listen to and respond to my concerns and questions. The final results exceeded my expectations. Philippe did a fantastic job and takes pride in his work. I highly recommend this extraordinary craftsman for any furniture refinishing job you may have.

I was told that my  wood table could not be sanded and stained because of how the top was constructed.  I was under the impression after talking with representative that I would probably not noticed where he would be sanding and painting the table to remove the water spots.  What a joke.  I only wish I could post before and after pictures on this site so you could see what he considered his best. He  has ruined my table top. The sanding is extremely ruff and the color he painted is way off base.  Would not use or ever recommended this company ever. Also, he made an appointment to show up between 9:00 and 11:00 am.  The night before he called to confirm and changed his appointment time between 11:00 and 2:00pm.  Told me he was so tired that he did not want to argue about his poor performance.  I did pay him a portion of what he original wanted to charge me but now I am really made at myself for giving him a dime.

    Macys Furniture Gallery
The mattress set was ordered from a floor model in the Macy's Ft. Lauderdale furniture gallery.  At the time I specified to the sales person that I needed a firm mattress due to a neck injury suffered years earlier.  The sales person showed me several models and then led me to the Beautyrest Recharge Hybrid 300.  I told him I had considered one of the Tempurpedic models but that I did not like the feel of sinking into the soft foam because of my neck injury.  He stated all of the mattresses being sold currently had some layer of foam atop the springs but that the Beautyrest he showed me was a firm model with individually wrapped coil innersprings.  I lay upon it for a time and agreed that it was firm enough and I ordered the set.  Merchandise was delivered as promised but the firmness of the mattress I received in no way resembled what I had experienced at the store with the same model.  I tried to give myself a chance to adjust to it, but after a  period of time my neck began to burn and the pain moved down the length of my arm.  I knew there was a problem with the lack of firmness.
I went back to the store, spoke to my salesperson and asked to have the mattress returned under Macy's 60 day satisfaction policy.  The salesperson was helpful enough and referred me to Customer Service who advised there would be a restocking fee of 15% but that it would be waived if I selected another mattress set.  I then learned the mattress set was manufactured specifically for Macy's.  I looked at the store model again and saw that it did not fully resemble the model I had received.  The salesperson said the styling had not been changed by the manufacturer.  However, the band/ticking was totally different in appearance and color.  The store model still felt quite firm - not at all like what I'd received.  My mattress had a ticket sewn into the seam that bore the correct model info, but there was also the remnants of another second ticket that had been cut off close to the seam.  I told Customer Service I believed the factory had erred (that was giving them the benefit of the doubt).  In reality, I think they swapped a lesser mattress for what I was supposed to receive and merely changed out the ticket.  No way to prove it.  Based on my suspicion, I chose not to order another mattress set from Macy's.  They in turn charged me a "restocking fee" - even tho' they are not permitted to restock a previously sold mattress.  They even charged me a restocking fee for the metal bedframe for which I paid $115, claiming they could not resell that either.  In addition, they charged me $75 to pick up the merchandise at my home.
I had photographs of both my mattress set that was delivered and that of the store model.  The photos showed the obvious differences in appearance  between the 2 sets.  Even the Macy's website bore photos that were identical to the store model, and quite different from what was delivered to me.  Despite that, Customer Service (and their supervisor) refused to waive the restocking fee or $75 pick up fee.   At times, they were quite rude about it.  And, of course, I had to take (unpaid)  time off from work to accomplish everything.  I was charged nearly $400 in restocking fees and pick-up fees for their "mistake" (which they never admitted to making).  Macy's claimed it was the correct mattress based on what was apparently a faked label, and I have photographs of that label along with the cut-off  label still stitched into the seam.
I thought I could trust a  retailer like Macy's.  Sadly I was mistaken and I will not shop with them again.  I am closing my Macy's account and will take my business elsewhere.

An aunt recently gave me a dresser that my dad had made in about 1950. It was pretty scratched up and not made of the best wood but it has huge sentimental value and I was happy to get it. I decided to get it refinished and spoke with several companies. A friend had used Dixon Refinishing and highly recommended the company. My husband and I met with the owner Cindi and she said she would be able to make the dresser look a lot better. She does a lot of refinishing on a lot of nice pieces yet she understood the sentimental value of my piece and treated me and my dresser with respect. I really liked her and knew she would do a good job. We left her with the dresser and she had us come back a few days later after she had sanded it and it was beautiful! A cousin had scratched his name in the top and there were lots of dings but she had it smoothed out and looking great. There were even some cracks in the wood that she was able to patch. It really looked amazing! We decided to have it stained darker and when we picked it up a few days later it looked beautiful! Cindi is a true professional. She really knows wood refinishing and is great at what she does. I'm so glad we found her and trusted her to do the job.

    Modern Piano Moving
It went wonderfully. I used them in 2005 and this was my 2nd time using them and the experience was wonderful. They have their own trucks and they are very efficient in moving their piano's. The Piano was immaculate; there wasn't a scratch on it. Every key played perfectly, and it was a very easy and simple move. They were informative and kept me up to date on everything regarding the move. They notified me in advance of them coming, and they arrived when they said they would. They were very prompt in getting the piano sent.

    TLC Furniture Stripping & Refinishing
I had two solid cherry end tables refinished. They were coated with polyurethane which is difficult to remove. I sent pictures of the tables and They sent me back am estimate. The estimate was very fair so I had them pick up the tables and refinish them. The work was done as promised on time. They delivered them to my daughter"s house when they were done as she was about the same distance as my home. The refinishing was a gift for her birthday. The tables were my mother"s , then mine and now hers. They are fine furniture finished on back as well as front and sides with two levels, two drawers and a pull out shelf. They were scratched and chipped on one edge. Now they are gorgeous. I highly recommend TLC.
