  • I have owned several homes and had my share of HVAC headaches. As a lifelong maintenance mechanic I don't pass out praise lightly. In the case of Anthony Smith of AK2 Mechanical it is well deserved. "Tony" is highly skilled and educated being a graduate of a 4yr HVAC program, many years of HVAC industry continuing education and 22yrs field experience. Being a military veteran he also possesses the professional bearing and discipline that is more often than not lacking in HVAC industry tech's. I found his diagnostic skills to be as good and better than any I've seen to date. He solved multiple complex problems for me efficiently and in a timely fashion, while taking the time to explain to me the process he was following and the results, step by step. I found Tony to be extremely honest and ethical saving me hundreds if not thousands of dollars in repairs. He explained to me the why's and how's of the system and indicated likely future repairs/maintenance that will be necessary to keep my system running efficiently, rather than the upselling that is so common in the HVAC industry. Tony went out of his way add my emergency call to the end of his busy day of service calls to save me the discomfort of a hot overnight. That I greatly appreciate. Tony operates his business as a single owner/operator by word of mouth rather than spending great sums on advertising, which of course gets passed on to the customer. Without hesitation I highly recommend Tony Smith AK2 Mechanical to any and all. He is now my "go to" guy for HVAC

  • They are over priced, and they always try to sell you a unit. I have heard from multiple people. Not a fan. They tried to charge me $1300 to fix my A/C and I got another guy to do it for $400. They really want you to buy new A/C units from them. The pricing was terrible. I mean it sounded like they were trying to pull one over on me. I have heard it from 4 other people who are not in the same circle. They always try to sell you a new unit. Instead of doing the work they try to sell you a unit, doesn't sound like good business to me. They were not professional. I would not use them again. I did not accept the estimate. I got a guy to come and take it a part and clean it for $400.

  • The surge protectors had been installed by a previous provider.  I had been notified that they were defective and could result in damage to my home.  They were replaced promptly after I called Comfort Temp.

  • Philip and company had excellent customer service-went above and beyond for us, including matching another quote within reason. They were on time and the technician did their job and cleaned up as expected. Philip, the owner, even stopped by to check on everything during the install.

  • From the initial visit to look at everything and provide a quote, David was friendly and professional. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Work was done professionally. Would highly recommend to anyone in the Gainesville/Alachua County area.

  • I was not present but my son was and the technician called me and kept me informed of anything he found what it would cost, he also gave me alternatives as to different courses of action.
    Informed me that one of the units was low on gas which usually means there is a leak somewhere but could not do the leak test because he did not have the right equipment with him. Said it appeared to be a very slow leak, so he charged it and advised that I call and set up another visit to do the test.
    He kept me informed and was very professional, but I wish technicians would carry the necessary equipment to do those test since this will probably involve another service call.

  • I can't tell you anything about their HVAC service, and now I'll never be able to. The driver's rudeness and utter lack of professionalism reflects very badly on Bounds as a whole. It's simply not the work ethic I would ever invite into my home. Don't be jerks!

  • Since we live over 2 hours away we were hoping to find someone we could trust to handle all aspects of renovation and care of the property. David and his wife have gone above and beyond our expectation and we highly recommend them for any project. All work has been done to our satisfaction and all sub contract work has been closely monitored by David. He is also very diligent in acquiring the best price even if it means taking his time to meet with several people for bids. In addition his rates are reasonable and fair. They have been very easy to work with and have been great about working with our time schedule in terms of doing things gradually at our pace. They were also helpful in the planning process bringing expertise of construction and design to help in decision process. We are very grateful to still be working with them to complete our second floor and other projects in the future.

  • I used them because they had a special on a summer 'check up" for $65.00.  I was very pleased with their service as far as that visit went so i decided to call them when my AC went out 2 weeks later.
    I completelly understand that something could have gone wrong with the AC that was not detected during the inspection.  I only wanted to use them because they had been so professional on their first visit.
    On the 26th (Memorial Day) I had family coming over and my AC stopped cooling. Around 1 PM I called them to see if someone could come out.  The guy who answered the called spoke to my husband and walked him through several checks to see if it might something simple to fix.  After about 30 minutes my husband asked if he could please just come check it out.
    The guy became very rude and told him it would "cost him" if he had to come out because it was a holdiay and my husband said "that's fne, we expected to have to".   He told him we had out-of-town guest and that price was not an issue.
    Then the guy said that if he drove out to our house and it started raining he would be unable to do the work and it would still cost us.  My husband again said "fine" (it wasn't even look overcast).  
    Then he said that he lived in Palatka and was at least two hours away and that he was pretty sure that it would be raining by that time. 
    My husband finally told him "nevermind" we'll call someone else. 
    On Tuesday my husband called and reported this to th emain office and they looked up the calls that had come in over the weekend and said "well it looks like he went out on other calls, so he must have been busy".  
    The only reason I didn't rate them an "F" is because their routine, sheduled trip was done professionally but it's when you really need them that it counts in my book so I would not ever recommend them.

    SIDE NOTE:
    We called "Air America" and they came right out and found our duct had come off and fixed it immediately.  They charged us $120.00
