Mark ( owner) of company met with me over weekend to give me an estimate. He was prompt and professional and was willing to schedule the work around my schedule. The crew arrived early and did a great job. I was impressed by their attention to detail.

Entire interior home. Walls, ceilings, baseboards, door frames. Also pressure washed outside of home. This is one of the best businesses I have every dealt with. The moved the heavy furniture and used drop clothes over them and floors. They were timely, professional, did exactly what they stated in the contract. Used high quality Sherwin-Williams paint. Am going to hire them to do outside window trim.

The spackling wasn't exactly what I wanted, but they almost got it right. I would use them again. They did what they said they were going to do at a reasonable price. The drywall and spackling project was the biggest job they did for me.

From start to finish, this is a great company to work with. After finding them on AL, I called to make the free consultation for an estimate. A date was set up and the owner, Curtis, showed up right on time. As I walked him through the house explaining what I wanted (which ended up being pretty abstract on some things) he took notes and made suggestions on things I wasn't sure of. He understood exactly what I was saying which was good because I wasn't 100 percent sure how to explain what I wanted in some areas! Within a few days, we received the estimate, which I thought was very competitive and reasonable. I also called 2 other Angie's List companies for estimates. Since this is about CJ, I won't go into those negative stories, but the estimate I got from one was a little higher (I never heard back from the other one) so I feel CJs price was good and fair. About 2 weeks after I received and accepted their contract, they commenced work. They explained they couldn't start sooner due to a job they were already working and told me they like to work straight through on a job so they can finish it fast and not bounce between 2 or 3 projects (like many companies do and really annoys me). That was good with me! I can't say enough about the quality of their work and hardworking, friendly employees. Curtis was there the first day to make sure the wall removal went right and checked in on most days. He also helped me make some aesthetic decisions I wasn't completely sure of like the column size/placement, how much wall to remove at the entrance and the direction of the tile. Within 4 weeks, the work was complete to my total satisfaction (including final inspection) and we received our final invoice. The 4 weeks was largely due to me or they probably would have been done in a week. I changed my mind numerous times on various things. I would call their office and talk to Lynette (VP and office Jack of all trades) and say "I think I want to add this or change that." She always responded pleasantly with No Problem, listened patiently to me ramble on (with lots of self-doubt on my decision making!) and never made me feel like I was being a pain, which I know I was LOL. Also, part of the holdup was our decision on tiling part or all of the areas except bedrooms AND selection of the tile. Picking a tile was super important to me and took me over 2 weeks which delayed their work and disrupted their work schedule, but they never pressured me to hurry. There was also a minor mistake due to a pinched wire which required a small removal of part of a wall in 3 areas. This was repaired immediately and it looks incredible. You would never know where it was replaced because their guy was absolutely amazing. In fact, all of his employees were excellent. They were conscientious, polite and always cleaned up any mess they made. One of the other things I love is how the floor turned out. It looks amazing and Ben, their employee who laid the tile, is an artist! He also consulted me on the direction of the tile (adding his much appreciated expert opinion as well) and really analyzed the project before even starting. It was a tedious process because with plank tiles, not only is it more important to have the grout lines absolutely perfect, you have to watch out for lippage due to the length of plank tiles. I've walked the floors, sliding my feet across and it feels perfect. The cuts he made around corners, etc. are impeccable. Also, tiling the kitchen was difficult because we have a wall dividing the kitchen from the family room. So, coming from the family room, he had to tile from the dining room on one side and the breakfast nook on the other and meet in the kitchen. It was perfect! I really love the floors and the more open look of my house! The walls turned out fantastic, it's great to be able to see out to my family room when washing dishes and I love the column. Everything turned out just as I wanted! Thank you Curtis, Lyn and team! From start to finish (and resolving the final punch list especially the vent in the guest bathroom!) you never disappointed. CJ Custom Carpentry is a top notch company that I would recommend to anyone and plan to use for any future remodeling.

Never received a quote. I emailed via AL on 2/23 or 2/24 and received a response immediately. We were out of town so we set up a time for a meeting and estimate in March (22nd I believe). He showed up timely and was very personable. We walked the house and I explained what I wanted done. He knew exactly what I was talking about and offered a few suggestions of his own. I felt very good about his ability to provide the services I needed and his previous AL reviews were good. On the down side, he wasn't as professional in his language (F-bombs) and a few stories he shared. He left and I waited for him to contact me with an estimate. He did not call so I finally called him and he apologized for not calling because his computer crashed and he lost everything. He said a repair person was coming out and he would call once it was recovered. I never heard from him again. If that was accurate and he was unable to restore his programs and data, he still had me in his phone and also his notes from our walk through. In addition, he initially responded to me via AL and that doesn't go away. So for that and the f bombs he dropped in our walk thru, I had to give him a C on professionalism and a D on responsiveness. Overall a D since I never received any response and basically wasted my time with him. I know some would rate overall an F, but since no work was preformed, I don't think that would be fair. I did find an excellent company in Lake City that did an fantastic job at a fair price.

He was very polite and respectful. They did the work in a very timely manner, and kept me very informed. When my blinds came in, they informed me and we set up an appointment for the installation. They didn't leave a mess and cleaned up after themselves at work completion. Also, they followed up with me on a regular basis to confirm my satisfaction with the blinds.

First contacted on Monday to quote on replacing a bathtub.  Tim came that same afternoon and gave me a price which I thought was very reasonable so I showed him a couple other repairs that I needed done as well.  He said he would start the work later in the week.
As it turned out the following day was very cold and his crew was looking for inside work so they started on our projects.  They removed the rusted bathtub which required removing some of the ceramic tile as well.  By the end of the week all work was complete.  The new tub looks great, they replaced the tile with tile I had on hand, grouted it and sealed everything nicely.
They removed and replaced the lowest level of hardie board on the back of the house where it had been banged up and broken.  They also replaced the outside trim around the sliding door with hardie board trim as the old trim was delaminating.
They caulked the leaks around the sliding door and replaced the inside trim that had been damaged by water infiltration.
Everything was done in a very professional manner.  The work areas were all cleaned up, debris disposed of and everything left in fine shape.  Work was complete in less than a week.
I've had a hard time finding tradesmen to do small repair jobs in the past.  These folks are top notch.  I will definitely keep this phone number.

From the beginning Eric was very punctual and professional, he inspected the house and gave me a detailed quote for the job, which included the different stages to be performed, and cost of each one.
The start was delayed a couple of days from the original scheduled start date but he kept me informed of it and once they started the finished promptly.
I was impressed because our house has a very steep roof pitch and some areas are hard to get to, but the painter pulled it off very effectively.
I would definitely recommend them, and would call them again if the need arises.
    Thank you,
    - Dionisio C.

Since we live over 2 hours away we were hoping to find someone we could trust to handle all aspects of renovation and care of the property. David and his wife have gone above and beyond our expectation and we highly recommend them for any project. All work has been done to our satisfaction and all sub contract work has been closely monitored by David. He is also very diligent in acquiring the best price even if it means taking his time to meet with several people for bids. In addition his rates are reasonable and fair. They have been very easy to work with and have been great about working with our time schedule in terms of doing things gradually at our pace. They were also helpful in the planning process bringing expertise of construction and design to help in decision process. We are very grateful to still be working with them to complete our second floor and other projects in the future.

Steve and Jerry did an outstanding job, start to finish.  They worked quietly, efficiently and with an incredible minimum of household upset, even when having to bring in tall ladders to paint 25 foot tall walls in hard to reach places!  The quality of their work is second to none.  I could not find the slightest mistake or sign of sloppy work anywhere in the whole house.  I highly recommend them.
