Solar Panel Installation reviews in Heathrow

  • I texted Wekiva Screen Repairs and Brian texted back that he would stop and take a look, and asked for my address. By the next day, I had an estimate. I was told they would replace all damaged struts, screens and wires and secure it properly to our home at a cost of $3,800 and all would be within code. I said I wanted time to have my screen power washed (it is white) before the new enclosure was done. He said he would send someone to power wash the day before at no additional charge. The work was done quickly, at what I believed was a fair price. Employees were courteous and pleasant. A final inspection of our screen revealed 2 buckling screens and a 10" replacement strut, difficult-to-see, about 4" too short. I called Brian and explained the above. He came to my home (our first face-to-face meeting) and I showed him the aforementioned areas. "No problem!" I'll have my men here to fix it within a dew days. And he did! My screen enclosure is now perfect. The whole process was remarkable, completed to exceptional standards, within a few weeks. Professional, courteous, pleasant and fair-priced. Wekiva Screen Repair is an A+ in my book. Caveats... Beware of screen companies who state that your enclosure cannot be saved. Be sure to read your insurance policies, then do what works best for you. If we had insurance, we would have had a $10,000. deductible, which would not have covered the work done. If we truly needed a new lanai, and had insurance coverage, if we average the estimates received ($23,000), it would have cost us $10,000 out-of-pocket. Although we don't have a new enclosure, as a result of the afore-stated situation, we actually saved $6,200 ($10,000-$3,800), and we couldn't be more satisfied with the total outcome.

  • The service was prompt and excellent. The installer was on time and had the two solar fans installed very quickly. Follow up was also prompt when I had a question. Recently my air conditioner was not running cool air and over a 24 hour period, the temperature in the house never got above 85 degrees although it was in the mid 90s that day with high humidity. I am confident that the solar fans helped maintain that temperature in the house and prevented the humidity from building up in the house.

  • I’m afraid I’ve had a very bad experience with this company. I made an appointment for 11 am to get a quote for a solar energy system. The sales rep called at 10:10 and said he was 10 minutes away and would it be ok if he came early. Yes, this was great!  By 11:10 (an hour later) he still had not arrived. I called him to see if he had had a wreck or medical problem. He said his GPS sent him to the wrong address. Now, we live in the 21st century. EVERYONE has at least one GPS, I have four. Checking with my GPS, as soon as I put in my zip, house number, and the first 4 letters of my street, my address is the only option.

I do not know this company, the management, the people that work there, or the quality of their product. My only exposure is through their sales rep, who is blowing smoke up my behind before I even meet him. Not a good first impression.

So Ernie tells me he is across town and will be at my house ASAP. Well, at 11:40, 30 minutes later, he still has not shown so I called their office and cancelled the appointment (you can reach my house from anywhere in the city within 15 minutes). More smoke. I’m also astonished that after I called their office and told the receptionist why I was cancelling, not one person in management called me. I guess they have so much business that customer service doesn’t matter.

Bottom line, if my job is primarily driving to potential customers’ houses, I’m going to have an awesome Garmin to be sure I get there AND a backup like my smart phone. If somehow I DO end up in the wrong place, I’m immediately going to call the customer and let them know what is going on, not wait an hour for them to call me. If I’m the primary sales rep for a company, I’m definitely going to do everything I can do to give the impression that I am not lying to the customer and put them at ease.

Since my impression of this company is so horrible, I can’t see any way to give them anything more than an F because Angie does not have a zero rating.

  • One of the panels on my roof sprung leaks! Mr. Salazar came and gave me options. I chose to have the one panel by-passed. He did that and then repaired my solar control panel and installed some new parts. He was extremely professional and competent.

  • I could use the solar panels to heat the pool all year round but since I don't go in the pool this time of the year I turn the solar off.  I had them done originally probably about 14 to 15 years ago.  When I had my new roof put on they had to take the old panels off.  So when they took the solar panels off  I told them to throw the solar panels away.  I didn't want them reinstalled but they put up brand new solar panels and it didn't cost me any money, I got it for free.  It seems like one or two houses in my neighborhood got hit with hail and the result of that, every single house, that's 61 houses in my community, got new roofs, and new solar panels for free.  Insurance paid for it.

  • Initial installation went well,  on time as scheduled,  with quality ---  I was completely satisfied.   I had some unique problems which service personnel identified as unusual. (e.g. a bad pump)  While no one likes problems,  in many instances they are unavoidable due to manufacturing defects that are out of their control.  It is how companies respond to this that makes a difference.   Superior came through in the end.

The release valve on the roof has had to be replaced twice.   After speaking with the service manager,  they ensured they would address the issue and lived up to this commitment.   They provided follow-up calls to ensure the work was done and that I was satisfied.    The concern for customer service is still alive at Superior.

  • I cannot say enough good things about Superior Solar.  They came highly recommended by the company that built our pool.  That was great advice.  From the initial sales call by David Spanier to the seamless installation, to the follow up by David the entire process was a joy.  Of course having the pool heat up very rapidly was awesome too.  The system is very simple and requires very little in the alteration of the pool pump system.  It also works by Bluetooth to communicate with the panels and to our remote control panel in the house and switches itself on when the air temperature on the roof exceeds that of the pool.  It does not really require any additional energy to run.  We have a large volume pool and it worked very efficiently.  The pool was warm enough to swim in April and we do not have a cover.  The installation team was very professional and worked quickly and efficiently.  They were very clean and did not leave any debris and did not damage the house or shrubbery.  The came back after I bought some paint that matched the house to paint the pipes.  They also went over the programming of the control and how the system works in great detail, although it is pretty simple.  Overall I was very satisfied and stay in touch with David Spanier who checks in from time to time to see if I am still happy.

  • Every service provider seemed very friendly. When making an appointment, just know that it won't be for at least a week or two before they can get out to your house, they are very busy. They fixed our problem with our solar panels. If we decide we want to continue having them, we will definitely use this company.

  • Outstanding experience, I did not initally know much about solar but Monik and Pedro expertly installed my PV system before the end of the year as I had asked. They quickly handled all the permitting, installation, electrical and financing for me - I was very pleased.
The system is sized to meet all the power needs of the house (34 panels) plus sell extra power generated back to the utility company. The panels are quality made in the USA and guaranteed for 10 years. Solar is such a great option, especially here in Florida, with my monthly payment on this system being LESS than any of my recent electric bills in from Duke Energy it was a "no brainer." No more power bills!

Energy costs could go much higher in the near future with all the government mandates on power production, as well as there is a 30% federal tax credit on PV/solar systems available until the end of 2016, which factored into the decision to go solar.
The technology is state of the art, by utilizing microinverters the system is scalable (meaning we can add more panels later) and clean, as well as there is not a huge box mounted on the side of the house like the older systems. Whats great with this one is if one panel fails the rest of the system continues to work - it does not impact the overall system other than the decrease in power generation associated with that panel.

An iPhone/iPad app and online website allows me to monitor each panels power production as well as how much overall power we are generating.

Highly recommended, they went the extra mile to get everything installed properly and to my satisfaction.

  • We called Fun in the Sun Pool Heating, Inc. and asked for someone to come out and look at our pool solar system that wasn't working.  They said it would be a $79.95 charge to come out.  We explained that we just wanted an estimate of what it would cost to get the system working again and were told that the free estimate was for new systems only.  They advertise free estimates.
