    Carol was amazing. She has been in real estate for such a long time in this area that she had an uncanny ability to predict what homes would sell for, and was a deep well of knowledge about the market, various builders, contracts, and had a vast network of relationships in the that proved to be a great resource for us beyond just buying a home. She was both professional and personal. We were not in a rush to buy, and let her know at the outset that we wanted to take our time to look at a lot of properties over a period of months before making any decisions. She was very accommodating and available, and took us to see countless homes without losing patience with our extensive research. She knew how to both give us her professional opinion on homes we visited, but we felt she stayed neutral and didn't pressure us one way or the other. When we first considered buying a home in Orlando, we were referred to Carol by quite a number of people, all of whom raved about how good she was. After our experience we are now saying the same thing to anyone we know looking to buy or sell here. You can't go wrong with her.

    Everything went extremely well. I am an event planner and this wedding was scheduled for July 14, 2007. We were very stressed because we thought we where not going to be able to hold a rehearsal or even decorate and prepare for the wedding ceremony and reception. We were given permission to come in and start rehearsal and decorate the day before. The rehearsal went well and the decorating was done with very minor touches done the day after. The bride was very happy with the results of our services and decorating. Thanks to Angie for allowing us to start the decorating the day before.

    They were phenomenon. They have an all inclusive deal where you get a beautiful location, you get to pick out all the colors for the decoration and the tables. They have all these colors and you pick everything you want, from the linen to basically everything.  They have the DJ all set up for you. The food is included and it is just amazing. You don't have to do anything but show up. They however don't provide the cake but recommend places you can go and order from. The price was great, can't beat that.

    We had an excellent experience with Tanner Hall. The location is beautiful (on Lake Apopka) and the hall is very well kept and decorated. The staff were great and even offered to help when we had a small problem at the rehearsal. We received several positive comments about the hall from our guests.

    Dubsdread Catering
    Dubsdread manages Highland Manor, an event venue, in Apopka (Florida). Here are the things that went right: The personalities & attitude of staff were excellent; very courteous! The food was excellent! Staff were also very helpful to me when my own equipment needed tweaking. The things that went wrong: (1) Follow-through on management's promises was bad! (2) Accessibility to staff when it was time to dim the lights & bring the lights back up (for my presentation) was also poor. (I had to send a guest to hunt for staff at both times.) My two biggest concerns about this venue are (1) The poor upkeep of foliage & the careless attention to the details of picking up litter; and (2) The horrific experience of the broken promise that the VERY UGLY temporary rear entrance to the property would be beautified in time for my event! Background & Details: Due to unforeseen MAJOR construction adjacent to the Manor, I was asked (10 days before my event!) to reroute my guests to the back of the property; their "new entrance." I was not told why. So I tested out the new entrance 4 days later. The first things that greeted my eyes when I drove through the new entrance (a week before my event) were a dumpster and a maintenance yard! I immediately complained, so Dubsdread replied: We want to "ensure you that your event is going to be perfect! I have spoken with the owners to see what can be done to accommodate blocking the dumpsters from view. I believe we are leaning towards potted trees." However, on event morning, when I arrived 2 hrs early to set-up, I came through the "new entrance" (as my guests had been instructed to do) and was greeted by a broken toilet sitting next to the dumpster! I was livid! Nothing had been done to improve the new entrance. So to appease me, the chef parked his truck in front of the dumpster to at least cover it. (See photos!) This was the best solution the event captain could offer. I had chosen this place for its historic charm. Rerouting my guests to the rear with only one week's notice of this change (and the unfulfilled promises to make the best of the situation) completely canceled out the charming first impression of Highland Manor on my event day. I cannot recommend them.
