Home Inspection reviews in Gulfport

It was important to me to have an independent firm look at the property, one not associated with my realtor or having other potential conflicts of interests. The technician inspected the home thoroughly and impartially. He answered all my (many) questions clearly and respectfully. Their rate was also very reasonable, especially considering they are a full engineering firm - another factor that put my mind at ease. Overall, their communication and professionalism was excellent. They were also the fastest to get back to me, give me a quote and schedule the inspection. I would definitely recommend anyone to use them.

Spectacular! Steve was incredibly meticulous in reviewing all pertinent systems, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, appliances, etc. He provided photos and detailed explanations of each and every item. We were totally pleased that we found Shelton Home Inspections on Angie's List. The cost was not only reasonable but offered high value as well.

Bobby Quigley from AmeriSpec did a home inspection on a property we are purchasing. He spent hours going over every detail in the house, not just the items that are on a 4-point inspection. Because the seller's realtor did not think to have the gas turned on for the inspection, Bobby had to return to complete the inspection and did so at no additional charge. His report was finely detailed. What a joy to work with!

Inspectograff uncovered many nickle/dime issues requiring a fix but more importantly, he found several major areas requiring a fix and so much so that we decided not to pursue with the contract to buy.  If he had not done such an outstanding job, we may have found ourselves in  a house requiring very costly repairs.

Bob and George were at the house early and ready to start.  Did you ever think a home inspection could be fun?  Well it was kind of fun and educational!  George and Bob went through the house and property very thoroughly and explained EVERYTHING until I understood.  They even gave maintenance and cleaning tips for things that looked ok at the time.  They offer a free year of membership in a home maintenance support web site that sounds pretty interesting, although I haven't checked it out yet.

Getting your home inspected is a little like taking your car to a garage--yeah, you might get an honest mechanic who really wants to help you out and find reasonable solutions for what actually needs fixing, but more likely you'll run across some filthy dude in coveralls chewing something unmentionable and casually informing you that a million billion different parts of your car that you didn't know existed need replacing and it'll cost you $3000 and if you don't pay it your car will probably collapse into a rusting pile of twisted metal the instant you drive it off the lot.
All About Home Inspections is the honest mechanic. They'll tell you exactly what's wrong--no crazy stories, no condescension, no intimidation or judgment. But let me tell you about my experience with them.
I had to have an unusual inspection as part of a permitting process. I called all around town hoping to find someone willing and able without any success. One inspector wanted to charge me $350, which was almost as much as the construction itself was going to cost! The inspection was holding up construction, and I thought it was never going to get done.
John at All About Home Inspections, however, made time in his hectic schedule to do the inspection quickly, efficiently, and at a very reasonable cost. He was extremely professional, knowledgable, prompt, honest, and all-around a no-nonsense kind of guy. In my experience, home inspectors have a tendency to talk down to you or act like you're a horrible person because you didn't know that the flanges on your hot water heater (or whatever) are supposed to be made of *stainless steel* rather than aluminum. I didn't get anything like that from John. It was an entirely positive experience.
I would recommend All About to anyone looking for inspections of any kind, whether you're buying, selling, renovating, whatever. You won't regret it.

Very responsive, on time, but missed wood destroying beetles in attic. In fact two other companies identified the problem, while home team "missed this" and cleared the home on the inspection. This caused a lot of stress on our part because we were now past the inspection contingency. Had home team found this, we could have had a very different outcome.

Although the came promptly after my call, they didn't want to see my plans and called 2 weeks later to ask questions I answered during their visit. I did not hear from them for at least 3 weeks and then they called with excuses why I had not heard from them and promised the estimate. I never received the estimate or heard from them again. How he could have developed a good estmate with out the plans, how accurate could it be w/o sub estimates?? Anyway, they did have some good reviews on AL but my experience was just terrible.

Darren, and his sidekick Ian, provided two inspections for me over the last two weeks. The first house was in such bad shape that I decided to move on and fortunately I found another great house. I had no doubt about hiring Darren Anderson for the second inspection as well.
I have worked with three inspectors before Darren on prior houses I bought (as well observed two others on houses I sold), and he was by far the best. His reports are very detailed and yet easy to understand. He helps the customer distinguish major from minor issues. He and his office are easy to reach and highly responsive.
He is a very reasonable and focused man, and will give good insights.

This company was extremely thorough with their inspection. They gave us a link to their website where the report could be viewed as well as a PDF file for us to save. They identified each item in the report with a legend that showed exactly how important each item was from just information to items that were a health or hazard risk. They spent a couple of hours on the phone with us verbally going over each item as well. We were not in town at the time of the inspection and could not be present to see it in person. Our report had 80 items identified and many pictures that went along with each item. The inspector was very helpful and very polite. Plus he was patient with me when I was not familiar with all the terms used in building a house. There were a couple of times that he recommended that we get a specialist involved to further explain these items beyond the scope of his knowledge. We ask him for suggestions of a company who were certified in these areas and he was able to find some names and numbers to call. I had several contractors review his report and they too were impressed with the amount of detail included in his report. We would definitely use Bay Homes Inspection again and recommend them to others. Also our daughter used this company for their home inspection and recommended them to us.
    They should get an A.
