  • Only issue was a delay in getting windows when permitting requirements in our county were different than expected. Delayed by about a month due to reordering higher wind ratings on corner windows. (Ecoview reordered two windows with the required higher wind rating at no additional charge as they said they were unaware our county had changed the specs.) One window measurement was transposed so we received a 103" window instead of the required 130". They were measured three times by EcoView due to zoning/permitting issue so I have a feeling it wasn't their fault but typed in wrong at the factory. They are going to reorder and install that last set of window soon. Ecoview has great installers! Eric and his brother were fabulous. They even replaced some window trim we didn't know was rotten at no additional charge. I had referred them to a neighbor who had windows installed and he also was very pleased. I no longer have to look through grids and enjoy a clear view of the sunset over the water, thanks to Ecoview! Looking forward to lower utility bills too!

  • First class all the way. All the materials used were state of the art hurricane proof materials and the installation was flawless. Two days and all debris was hauled away following. A great experience.

  • It started out with the sales person doing an onsite measure and quote.  The price was lower than the other company that had quoted and the big factor was that the sales person said the door would be installed within 5 weeks, which was important to me.  After not hearing from Window World for 6 weeks, I called and inquired.  They said they would check and then said the door was still not in the warehouse.  I ordered mid November and the install did not go until 1/8/15, almost 8 weeks as opposed to the 5 that was indicated as the sales person tried to make the sale.

On installation day, the installers arrived as scheduled and were professional.  Part way through they informed me that the measure was off about 2" so they would need to use shims and furring strips.  They placed the door and there was a good 1.5" to 2" gap around the top and one side of the door.  I asked if they were going to fill the space with foam insulation and they said they do not.  They were going to just put in the cheap vinyl trim pieces over the gaps.  I paid extra for the "Low E" door for energy savings and Window World finds it acceptable to just use cheap trim to fill gaps.  I ran to the hardware store to get the foam insulation which the guys said they would spray, which the did, but not well.  Two weeks after install, part of the cheap vinyl trim is pealing away and a cold draft can be felt around where the door is not snug.

I never received a call from any Window World employee or sales representative to follow up on how the job went, only the office lady looking for the rest of the payment.  I then asked to speak to the manager and he did call back. He offered a generic apology but didn't seem overly concerned at all.

Bottom line is I would look elsewhere for windows and doors.  The finished product does look nice, but between the lack of communication, the extended install time, the installation with gaps, and the lack of customer follow-up will keep me from coming back.

  • We needed to replace our old windows so we consulted Angie's list and called Folkers Window Co.  I was able to meet with Clark, their sales representative, the following week.  He was very knowledgable about the different types of windows  he was selling and tailored to our specific needs.
The windows were custom built at the factory so another individual came out for more precise measurements of the windows.  It took about four weeks for the windows to be shipped from the factory to Folkers and they were able to install that week.
Two installers came to the house and explained the entire process in length about what they would be doing for the installation.  The windows and shutters were installed in one day.  During the installation they laid down blankets on the inside of the window and vacuumed when they were finished.  Before they left, they went around the house, cleaned the windows, picked up any garbage that was laying on the ground and asked if I had any questions about the work performed.
All in all it took a little over a month from start to finish and I have had no problems with the windows thus far.  Everyone that I encountered, represented the company in a professional and helpful manner.  I would recommend Folkers to others looking to have their windows replaced as well.

  • I contracted with Absolute Storm Protection to install new doors (with a 10-year warranty) and windows in my townhouse.  I paid half down ($16,000).  Unbeknownst to me ASP ordered only the frames from Ventana, USA.  They purchased their own glass and took a spray gun to the doors.  When they were installed the paint was horrid and chipping off.  The only way to fix the paint  would be to somehow remove all the paint, powder coat them and repaint them.  Another contractor estimated it would be about $2-3,000 per door to do that.
The glass did not have the florida numbers on them because they were not rated doors, which I had specifically demanded to have and were not tinted as well as the windows.  (The windows were factory made by Simonton and are great.  Simonton sent me a lifetime warranty and stand by their product.) Upon researching I learned ASP is not licensed and not legal to install the doors. Their installation was awful and I had to pay another contractor to repair and hide their shabby construction. ASP refused to do anything other than to slap another coat of paint on the doors.
The doors are bowed.  They have been adjusted a number of times and continue to re-warp.  The only way to lock the doors is
to have someone on the outside push on the top and bottom of the door and have someone on the inside lock them.  The handles
are flimsy and and are breaking.  One broke off within 30 days of the installation.
I have written and telephoned Ventana numerous times about their 10-year warranty.  They said they would send a new handle (but didn't) and offered to sell me their new painted frames for $7,000, supposedly their cost ($7000+). This required me to trust that the doors aren't bowed and the paint job is good, then to contract with someone to put the old subpar glass in them and install them. Plus it didn't seem right that they profited fully in the first transaction and then want me to pay them again for doors they were already paid once.  They refused to refund even a dime of my money and said I would have to work with Absolute because I'm not their customer.
ASP is definitely the worst culprit in this problem, but the Ventana doors are faulty. I am filing a review on both.  Do not trust Ventana doors. They are cheap and Ventana's warranty is worthless unless you buy directly from them...assuming it is worth anything even that way. Absolute Storm Protection is illegally installing doors and windows, as I have been told by the county they are not licensed to do so anywhere in Florida. And the doors and windows don't pass Florida code. Their warranty is worthless too. Plus they will now demand you pay them 80% of the contract before they will install anything, so you won't know how bad the doors and installation are until you are out most of your money.

  • Herman quoted the job, did the work and wouldn't even invoice me until he personally checked the quality of his employees work. I now have him working on the design and installation of a pool enclosure. I am very satisfies with him as an individual and the quality of his work.

  • All appointments were met in a timely manner. Work was neat and cleanup was precise. No damage to structure (brick) or landscaping occurred during installation. We couldn't be more pleased with whole process. The storm shutters have been successful in warding off all hurricanes (thus far).

  • The product was delivered as promised but was the wrong cut.  The bolt holes did not line up.  Called back the company and the product was fixed within 2 days.  I did not blame the technician as the estimator never measured just guessed, thinking all the windows are the same?!
Like the product, would use company again.

  • Fred and his brother came by to do the job as scheduled. I cannot state how professional these guys are. They explained particulars of the job and did a thorough job of cleaning up the area after they were done. Fred provided a client as a reference and she was extremely happy with his work. Again these folks were more than professional they treated me with respect and were very polite unlike some contractors who show up and feel as though you are doing them a favor by spending your money these guys were the absolute best. They did the job on time, within the stated budget, and provided a a some training on installation of the shutters and a tool to expedite the installation. I'd recommend them anytime.
