Worked with Tom on kitchen re-design, including upgrades, layout change, and Island enhancements.  We were given several options of initial concepts, and through phone conversations, visits, and emails made several changes until we decided on final layout.  Their response usually took a day or two and was always followed up with a phone call.  Since our kitchen required a complete demolition, with no major structural work, we had a lot of questions.  Tom was very forthcoming with answers and options.  After order was placed, we were contacted about delivery schedule and installation date.   Installation crew was friendly, efficient, and above all had a keen attention to detail.  They removed and discarded all old cabinets, and cleaned up after themselves.   Since any new product is nice, I usually tend to write reviews with some delay to really see how it is after some use.   We have only had one issue with a sagging shelf due to a missing brace but they were happy to supply us with several.   Even though these cabinets are made elsewhere, they are well built for the price and still look as good as the day they were installed.

We called them back after the first estimate to hire and they wanted to have someone else do a second more detailed estimate. We set up a time and they came by but never provided the estimate. We even called a couple times to follow up, but we never heard back. I got the sense that they are a good company and just really busy, but it would have been nice to get a call saying we are just too busy to take your job right now,

Update: communication went basically as stated by Tony. Phasing was discussed during the more detailed estimate. I did not receive the 12/22 email. I had a phone conversation with a gentleman who was not Tony and told him how we'd like the phases structured, but we never received an updated quote. When we received the 1/14 quote,at our request to submit to insurance, it was the original quote, with no new quote information or anything in the message to indicate that we should expect the new quote. The reference to multiple quotes were for 1. Putting the bathroom back to the way it was and 2. Moving it around to the plumbing configuration that I really wanted. Both options were originally quoted.

Again - probably a good place. It's easy to lose phone messages and accidentally mess up communication on anyone's end.

    Steve Supplee Construction LLC
Quickly! Each day something was happening on my job. First day was rough carpentry, second was rough plumbing, third was tile in the shower, fourth was tile on the floor, etc. You will not wait months for your job to be completed with Steve!

    The things that are outstanding:
    1. Steve and crew shows up on time when they say they will be there (sadly this is huge in the world of construction). If for some reason they can't make it they call in a timely manner.
    2. Steve gave a written quote that specifically wrote out the work that work be done by trade (plumbing, tiling, carpentry, etc). He very patiently went back and forth with me several times by email so I could make sure that they had the workscope exactly right.
    3. When the tile installer laid my tile with the grout lines too big, both Steve and the tile company people were gracious about it, they came back that night and pulled up the tile, they relaid it the next day with the groutline size that I wanted. Even further when one of the tiles appeared too low to me after the second installation, Steve checked it and had the tile installer reinstall it so that the finish would look nice (instead of just using a ton of caulking to fill in a big gap between the trim and floor).

Everything on this job went smoothly. When there were problems they were corrected quickly. Steve is excellent at communicating with you and letting you know what work will be done next.

    Mark Andrews Construction LLC
Mark came out right away and gave a fair estimate.  He had pictures of jobs and references. He seemed very professional and gave great suggestions.  After considering the bids we received we picked Mark Andrews.  We were very excited to work with him because he seemed like a honest professional who would do a good job.  We called him back three weeks later to schedule a time to sign a contract and get started.  He suggested a Saturday evening, we agreed.  He didn't show up, and didn't call.  We called him to find out what happened and he apologized and we rescheduled for a Friday evening, my husband's birthday.  He called my husband and left a voice mail Friday evening, asking if we were able to reschdule and if so to call.  We didn't receive the voicemail until about the time of our appointment, and we assumed based on the message that he would make it since he didn't say that he was not going to be able to come, but he did not show up.  I called him and left a message trying to figure out what happened and if he was really just too busy to take our job or something.  He has not returned my call.  We've arranged our schedule twice to meet him, and twice he hasn't shown up.  We're not difficult to schedule, pretty much any evening, and even that is flexible to move to an afternoon or something as needed.  We're super disappointed because it's been difficult to find a good contractor and we thought that he would be good.  However, chasing down a contractor to get him to meet and sign a contract is not a good sign, and it's really unfortunate because he had good reviews on Angie's list and seemed like a competent person.

UPDATE:  It's unfortunate that we had so much difficulty getting in contact.  My husband did update me and say that Mark called back.  At the time I discussed the initial  posting with my husband he had not received a call back from Mark.  It is true that no deposit was taken nor was any contract signed. Mark seems like a good guy and is probably a good contractor.  I don't have a horror story about getting screwed.  I just have a frustrating story about scheduling on two seperate occasions.  We're very busy, we have three kids, and we both work, not keeping appointments on multiple occasions can be very difficult for us when we arrange for child care so that we can focus on getting a clear contract together.  I'm sure that Mark is busy too and I understand that sometimes things come up, but if we're having a hard time scheduling someone to sign a contract and get started - how hard will it be in the event that I have a problem with something on the job?
