    Cox, Dr. Charles E.
Dr. Cox is extremely thorough, and compassionate. He is extremely concerned about the patient and the patient's well being. He's extremely knowledgeable, and he teaches breast cancer surgery. He will explain everything to you, and put your mind at ease. He will go over everything point by point. He cares about the patient, and is an excellent surgeon. You may wait a long time for him in the office. A Plus!

From checking in to getting my test done and speaking to the radiologist everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. They were very supportive in not letting me worry about the results of my Mammogram and made me stay in the positive and tried to accomodate my schedule as much as possible.

I have been seeing her for about a year. She is very personable and makes her own patient follow up phone calls. She doesn't overbook her patients and she actually spends quality time with her patients during appointments. She has an older Victorian home that she has turned into her personal office. It is very lovely and is warmly decorated with angels. She is just a wonderful person!

    Cox, Dr. Charles E.
Too early for rating the effectiveness of treatment or rating Billing and Admin. but since this doctor is associated with USF, expect a ton of paper work, related to the ongoing study of breast cancer, sent and to be filled out prior to first office visit. Overall, I was very happy with response and procedure. Went in thinking it would be a consult but upon examination, Dr. Cox determined that it was something that could be addressed that day and offered to do so, of which, feeling comfortable with him and his level of confidence, as well as, not wanting it to be postponed or handled as an outpatient, at the hospital (the choices presented), I chose to go ahead with the in-office surgery, allowing me to get it over, in a very condensed time frame, alleviating a sleepless night and limiting my stress and anxiety levels strictly to the time spent in his office and the surgical room. He explained the procedure in detail and presented the tool he'd be using, helping to relieve my nervousness. During the entire procedure, he was very cognizant of my concerns and took the time to explain each step of the procedure, verbally assuring that I was comfortable and without pain. There was virtually no pain associated with the surgery. In fact, the only thing I felt was the administering of the anesthetic, which was barely noticeable and at times, I felt a very slight pressure. At the end, during suturing, because I had expressed concern with the outcome and appearance of the surgical site, Dr. Cox suggested options, affording me the opportunity to make the final decision on how he would finish. After Note: There will be slight to moderate pain associated with the healing process but that is to be expected and depends on your pain threshold.

When Dr. Mc Rae told me that surgery was required his office made all the hospital arrangements. The surgery was peroformed in the morning and I was released in the evening. He gave me a perscription for pain before leaving the hospital. Everything was on schedule and went along smoothly. Each year Dr. McRae's office sends a reminder for a mammogram. I have a lot of faith in his diagnosis.

    Pizzo, Dr. Anthony J.
He has a great amount of care and interest in his clients. He spent well over an hour with us during the initial visit. He explained the whole procedure and gave his recommendations, as well as his pre- and post-op considerations.

    Diaco, Dr. Daniel S
He was very professional and nice. Somewhat clinical and spoke rather rapidly. He did ask for any questions, but if you do not come prepared with a list, he doesn't go out of his way to sell the procedure, like other doctors. He is very confident in his abilities and techniques, and suggested one to fix one of my breasts that I would not have thought would work. However, it was perfect in the end, despite my initial reservations. I was very happy with the outcome, and his prices are quite reasonable. I am considering another unrelated procedure through his office, and would not hesitate to do so.

The visit was great. He reviewed my films and did an exam. He reassured me the spots were most likely due to a recent surgery. He recommended a follow-up mammogram to ensure that. After the second test, I received a letter that all looked normal and to have one more (each were 6 months appart) to make sure there were no changes. That 3rd test will be coming up soon.He and his staff were very friendly and comforting in what could be a very scary situation.

My mammogram revealed that I needed to have a biopsy done. I was unable to get in to see my first choice for a surgeon so I ended up with Dr. McCrae because I could get in to see him really fast. A lumpectomy was done by Dr. McCrae. He told me that he might need to also do a sentinal node biopsy. I requested that he do both procedures at the same time and he told me that it was not done that way. I later found out that lots of surgeons do both at the same time. So a week after the lumpectomy I had to go back in and do the sentinal node biopsy. The results of the surgery have been good to date, and so far I'm cancer free. I have since changed to another surgeon and no longer see Dr. McCrae. Overall, I think he is pretty good at what he does but I've moved onto what I feel is a better doctor/surgeon. As far as the office goes, I spent alot of time waiting in the waiting room.
