Concrete Repair reviews in Gainesville

    Austin's Professional Concrete Service
Seneca Austin and his crew replaced parts of my concrete driveway. Seneca waited until the concrete was poured to inform me that the color of the new concrete would be much whiter than the gray color of my old concrete, even after pressure washing. His crew also dented and scratched my garage door, they left behind a wooden form board for me to pry out with a crowbar, they dumped concrete waste without permission in a corner of my property, and they tore up the sod in another corner of my property. When I emailed Seneca that one of the new slabs had cracked all the way through within a couple of weeks after the job was complete, I got no response from him, not even an offer to use a concrete filler on the crack.

    A & M Restoration Corp
We were selling a house and dealing with an extremely demanding buyer. We hired A&M to fix posts underneath a back sun porch and to seal several cracks around the perimeter of the house foundation. Arty repaired the posts and cracks to our satisfaction, but the buyer's realtor kept asking for additional, very picky improvements. After his original repairs, he went back 2 more times to meet with the realtor and perform all work to her satisfaction. He even removed caulk from cracks that were old and had been caulked by previous owners years ago, that were not part of our contract with the buyer, but she demanded be repaired. Arty really helped us out especially since the house was empty and we were trying to coordinate repairs from 1,000 miles away. He fit us in so we could get everything done prior to closing and he was very easy to work with.

    O'Steen Brothers Inc.
From beginning to end, Ron from O'steen Brothers was outstanding to work with.  He was professional, timely, explained the work clearly, and listened to what I wanted and delivered exactly as promised. The team he had working with him was outstanding as well. O'steen provided an excellent quality finished product. I had quotes that were lower in price, but I felt confident O'steen would be worth the extra money, and they were!

    Pavers Plus
There was a delay of a couple of weeks in starting the work, due to weather but also some other circumstances on PaversPlus side.
Other than that, we couldn't be happier.  The quality of the work is outstanding, and not just the positioning of the pavers but also the way they sloped the pavers surface for optimal draining and run-off.  A bit of the sidewalk concrete broke while removing the stamped concrete sections, and they removed that entire sidewalk section and poured a new section which elevated up to a perfect joint to the pavers.  No extra charge.
I would not hesitate to recommend them, as the quality and workmanship is first-rate.

    Gainesville Restoration & Remodeling Inc
In early April of 2014, my wife came home to find our house 95% flooded because of a broken water line from the refrigerator ice maker.  Panicked, I quickly did some internet research and settled on Gainesville Restoration & Remodeling.  After speaking to Russ Mills, I was initially impressed as he and his team arrived within 30 minutes of my phone call and immediately began the demolition and removal of the waterlogged baseboards, drywall, and flooring.  After removing the standing water and placing dozen of air blowers, dehumidifiers, and air filters, I felt we were in good hands.  Russ calmly told me after the initial drying process everything would be alright and "this will be a quick process" to restore and remodel the home.  Our entire house was packed into our garage and then a generic brand "Pod" that was left in our driveway.  I thought and was told this was standard procedure.  That's when things started to fall off the rails.  Russ and his team seemed overworked and stretched with too many other jobs.  Random subcontractors were frequent visitors to our abandoned home with little or no communication prior and hardly any supervision.  My calls and text messages were infrequently returned.  The drywall repair was completed in a reasonable time and the painters repainted what they could.  The electrician was top notch and the tile setter for our back splash was excellent.  However, everything else took way too long.  The wood flooring took several weeks to arrive and nearly a week to install.  As the weeks turned to months and spring turned to summer, we periodically checked the contents of our "Pod" only to find ants running through our belongings because GRR carelessly packed our entire pantry inside.  Sometimes I would drop by to check on the home after work to find the subcontractors had left doors unlocked or wide open for insects and roaches to traverse freely.  Our replacement kitchen cabinets were installed carelessly which then affected the granite reinstallation.  The fine details were a difficult, laborious task for GRR to complete.  The bottom line regarding this restoration; it took 2 months to move back into the home to where we could live in it again.  It took 5 months for the punch list to finally be completed and the final insurance check to be handed over to GRR.  While this process took way too long and Chris Pickering, the owner of GRR was shockingly unconcerned about receiving either of their payments from me and my insurance company, we did finally end up with a beautiful and improved home.  Or so we thought...
Fast forward to late February 2015.  I woke up to find yet another flood in my home, this time originating between a bathroom and closet wall.  I called a different restoration company and when the plumber arrived to find the source of the leak, I was flabbergasted by the cause.  When GRR replaced our baseboards after the first flood, they managed to shoot a finish nail through a copper pipe that supplies the cold water to the aforementioned bathroom sink (the nail was way too long for the location and I was later told that the baseboard should have been glued to the wall in that location).  It took about 9 months for the nail to rust through the pipe, but once it did, our home was ruined once again!  2 major floods in less than a year and yes, our insurance company is threatening to drop us!  In using a different restoration company this time around we have learned about all the shortcuts GRR took in rebuilding our home the first time around.  If we only knew.
This is only a fraction of the countless things I could complain about regarding our experience with GRR.  Missed deadlines, broken promises, careless workmanship, and non-existent supervision.  And after the negligence which has caused our 2nd flood, I wish I could give them a F- rating.  Do not touch this contractor with a 10 foot pole.  RUN, don't walk away from this one.

    Qualified Plumbing Services Inc
In short, every aspect of this job exceed my expectations.  This was moderately large job.  I wanted the switch the locations of the tub and toilet which necessitated cutting open the concrete slab, cutting into the main drain and putting in the two new drains.
Daniel met with me within 24 hours of my first call to give me a quote.  I called them the following Monday to pull the trigger on this and they scheduled me for Wednesday morning.  Daniel called me to tell me he was on his way (as promised) and showed up on time.  Two other guys came out to assist with the job a little later.  It was a good crew.  I know something (just enough to be dangerous!) about plumbing and thought their work was first rate.  I thought the price for the amount of work done was very competitive.  Just to adjust the expectations of someone who might be reading this:  I had the bathroom demo'd before they arrived and I asked them to let me finish the concrete work on the job.  The price they charged reflected that.
Can't say enough good things about this company.  I hope these kinds of reviews don't give them so much business they can't maintain this level of service!

    D&T Concrete
Darrel Thomas responded quickly to my call for an estimate and visited my property and provided the estimate the same day. The estimate was very reasonable. He was polite, professional and thorough in his explanation of the services they would provide in their estimate. I scheduled the job and they completed the entire job within a couple days of my call. I was so pleased as the work was done with the highest quality and skill. Finishing the concrete with great lines and a smooth finished surface. Mr. Thomas also used the some additional concrete to repair a pot hole in my driveway. This was exceptional service and we will definitely recommend them to anyone requiring home concrete projects. Mr. Thomas was a pleasure to work!

    O'Steen Brothers Inc.
Excellent work! Ron O'Steen was the person in charge of the first visit and quotes, and he came out during the job to inspect and ensure everything was going properly. I modified the job slightly at the beginning (to widen the parking area and increase the amount of area to be paved) and it was readily handled at only a modest increase in cost.
The crew was great, and the site foreman kept us up to date as to plans and progress. We did have a 2-day delay in the middle of the project, but that was due to weather. The night after subgrade preparation and compaction, we had 2 inches of rain, which washed away several sections and made final compaction impossible until things dried out. Once things dried out, they were done in three days; one day each for subgrade repair and compaction, oiling and sealing, then finally paving.
The entire job took one week start to finish. The professionalism of the crew was outstanding. And there were extra things that they did that I would not have expected, including: having a road sweeper out to clean up the neighborhood street to remove excess dirt and debris; bringing in topsoil to dress the driveway edges; and a couple hours after I thought they were done and all the heavy equipment was gone, a water truck arrived to wash down the entire street in front of the house. .
Would recommend to anyone looking for a similar project.

    D&T Concrete
Darrel was absolutely wonderful, promptly answered my call, was totally professional, and he came to give me an estimate that afternoon. His price was completely reasonable for replacing our horribly cracked driveway and front walkway. He and his men were right on time, worked efficiently, and did a tremendous job! Bonus - Darrel also redesigned our front steps to make them safer for kids - recontoured them to better match the slope of our yard, and made each step shorter. We were very, very impressed with Darrel's professionalism and attention to detail and we highly recommend him for any concrete jobs! Our neighbors all keep complimenting us on how great it looks!

    A & M Restoration Corp
I cannot say enough nice things about these people. Art and Dee, the principals, listened carefully to what I wanted before they started building the deck, explained everything they were doing, and bent over backwards to accommodate anything I needed. Their attention to detail and their commitment to excellence is amazing; they are meticulous. The people who work with them are careful craftsmen, and polite and personable, as well. The work itself knocks me over every time I look out those french doors. This deck is a work of art. The price was more than fair, and I will be able to screen it soon, due to their careful planning, for less than the screening would have cost otherwise. During the time people were here working, I mentioned that my mailbox was falling over; they told me if I got the materials, they would install the new one for me! As with all their other work, the end result is beautiful and solid. I can't recommend this company highly enough.
