    At most it should take 2 days with one person and not a complicated job for most. Here is their response verbatim, " Hi Robert, Good Morning Robert, Thank you for your interest with Handyman Matters and inquiring about home projects via Angie's List. Unfortunately the scope of work is larger than we can take on at this time. Thank you, Lori Thanks, Handyman Matters of Jacksonville" Appears to be a more of a, we are not interested in the work because we are very selective and not that helpful after all. Beware of companies that state in their advertisement, "At Handyman Matters of Jacksonville, we are skilled in over 1,162 different repair and improvement projects. We are always happy to help and we can typically have a craftsman to your home in just 1-3 days. Give us a call and get your to-do list done today! " then blow you off without the courtesy of telling you when they can be available to do the work or recommending someone that can help. Maybe they are not "always happy to help".

    Excellent. Jesse brought a helper, Carter. They were very patient while my wife decided the exact position for each item of furniture. They did more than just move furniture. They helped dust the backs of furniture and baseboard, and hung a picture and heavy mirror. They were both very personable yet professional. Jesse is an experienced handyman with many skills, and we plan to hire him for other work when needed. Altogether, totally pleased.

    The cleaning lady did a poor job. Dust remained on ceiling fans, kitchen drawers were not cleaned, etc. And was paid $250 for next to no cleaning, she didn't even clean the cooking oil that was on the sliding glass doors. But the painting was even worse. Many walls were very thinly coated with the new paint, areas behind the toilets were not painted at all and satin was supposed to only be used in the bathrooms. Flat and satin were used indiscriminately in both baths. I even went and marked locations that they needed to fix with blue tape, they did some and pulled up the rest. But the worst of it was Joe, the owner and I think his wife (the office flunky) called every hour demanding payment, then the following day Joe came to the house threatening to call the police, yelling at my 77 yr old mother who just lost her husband 2 months ago. She paid him what he was demanding $3,100 as she was afraid that he might do something to her and I was not there that day. DO NOT USE HIRE A HANDY MAN OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!

    The quote was very detailed so the work could be done piece meal, at our ease. We working the house in areas so as to not disrupt life to badly. Everything went as planned. The work was very well done. We would recommend Scott to anyone in need.

    They gave us a reasonable quote up front and delivered on that amount. The technicians put together a bunk bed with stairs and seven drawers in approximately two hours. This project would have taken us days! They arrived on time, were professional, and worked hard to get the job done in a timely manner.

    When it was time to get the outside of the house done I asked around for references for a good general contractor. After going out to bid I selected Miller Construction Group (MCG) and couldn���t be happier that I did. Fantastic experience! Of the 3 bids I received MCG was the highest bid by about $900. We were so much more comfortable with the professionalism of MCG that we chose them anyway. Here���s why we did: - The initial walk through with Roger Miller and Bud Cox was good but the email they sent afterwards, with pictures, text and arrows clearly showing what we wanted done were amazing. Most contractors don���t do much more than throw a few line items on something along with a price and some don���t even do that well. MCG sent that email with the pictures and after we reviewed it ��� used it as the reference for the initial bid. No miscommunication or wiggle room by either of us. And they were quick about it even though they were inundated with work requests. - I had a bunch of additions and questions before we finalized the quote. Nothing took more than 24 hours to be answered or clarified. After awarding MCG the work the communications remained stellar. - The final quote was almost a work of art in terms of clarity and completeness. Included the warranty information for each repair, (1 year workmanship, 10 years windows), additional descriptive verbiage explaining each repair along with a payment schedule. I���m a corporate contractor myself and this was top-o-the-line work for even the most picky business person. I didn���t make the timeline easy. There was a lot to do in a short period of time. I have experience with project management and it was obvious when I worked the timeline that so does Roger and MCG. The staff and subs MCG uses are very personable and professional. Once the work began I could tell that they all had high standards. Pleasing the customer pleases them. Whether the high standards were set by MCG or the norm for the folks doing the work���..I think both. It was clear to me that MCG���s expectations are pretty high and that is well known by those doing the work for them. In many cases I was surprised to find that more than I expected was being done. They caulked every crack, cleaned everything, replaced the rusted hardware from the smallest to the largest pieces with new shiny pieces and used the best paint. Anytime I asked about something they were ready to improve it as requested OR told me what the next step for the item would be and it was usually beyond what I would have asked for. The outside of the house looks like it did when we bought the house new. I have found that the most frustrating aspect of working with contractors is the poor communication and lackadaisical work scheduling. I had the choice of phone calls, texting and emailing and sometimes used all 3 simultaneously. Even during the weekend the responses were all received on a timely basis. As far as the crews showing up when expected���.110%. MCG isn���t the cheapest but you do get what you pay for ���.. and more.

    If you need a painter who is meticulous yet efficient, shows up when he says he will, completes the work timely, prices fairly and gives you more than you pay for, I recommend Scott Dunn. He will do interior as well as exterior painting, and he will do small jobs as well as large ones.     Rep came out to do estimate (they charge for estimates), then after several days and several calls, they quoted the number of "hours" times an hourly rate. After we received the estimate we learned that they supply nothing, we would have to go buy every item needed to complete the job. We thought we were paying for an estimate to "complete" the job, not estimate the time required. Ultimately, we did not use them and chalked up the estimate fee to learning experience.

    I tried contacting this vendor on several occasions. I never received a response which is very disappointing and the first time that I have ever had this experience with a vendor on Angies List. The Angies List team was wonderfule and helped me to processing a refund.

    Did a great job, much better than I expected and even did more. Went above and beyond to inform me what he was doing and did an excellent job. He scraped the old calk from the edges and laid a nice new calk in the shower and tub.
