Hvac Repair reviews in Freeport

These guys are professional from scheduling to arrival to work performed to follow up.  Wish all companies operated like these guys do.  We're staying with them for as long as we own our home.  They really are top notch, trustworthy, and they know their stuff.

All of the other companies that provided estimates to fix our problem recommended a new unit ranging from $11,000 - $17,000.  Odis Brown Refrigeration SVC looked at our unit, cleaned and taped some duct work that had come loose in the attic.  It has been a year and it runs wonderfully.  The employees were enjoyable and polite.  They had to make several trips outside and each time would remove their shoes so as not to mess our floors.  They were very attentive, listened to our concerns and were extremely thorough in assessing our problem.  Three other companies had come by and each had recommended we replace our unit stating it was an improper size or had some terminal problem.  Odis Brown Refrigeration SVC not only fixed our problem but saved us a bundle of money that we simply could not afford to spend.  When it is time to replace this unit we will call them!

In January of 2015 I asked Gulfshore to check the size of the duct because my heating and cooling system was running much longer to heat or cool the house. The owner of the company came to my home and measured and calculated and pronounced the system size is correct and the air flow is good. He used his hand to determine if the are flow was sufficient. I hired a different company to come to my home and check the air flow with modern equipment. They determined the total air flow from the new system was about 700 CFM. The system I have was suppose to put out 1150 CFM. So, for the third time I had Gulfshore come out and try to get the system to work properly. Once again I got the owner of the company and a technician. They changed the wiring which increased the fan speed to it's max fan speed. The owner took out an out dated air flow meter and checked the total CFM and amazingly my system was now delivering1265 CFM even though it was only designed to deliver 1150 CFM. So, I bring out the second company to retest the work and claims of Gulfshore. Sure enough the total air flow was only 955 CFM. Gulf shore installed a new duct system that was to small then lied to cover their mistake. Avoid this company.

They are unable to do the work for me because the A/C had already went out. They said they could not do the tune-up or honor that because they would need to send a technician out. They also could not credit toward additional work.

Technician as knowledgeable & got the job done. He changed out our 14 year old thermostat with a very easy to use. & readable digital thermostat. Inspected inside unit, cleaned it thoroughly, fixed some leaks where the tape had come loose. Checked freon level also. Now I have a clean unit that cools & may extend the life of my Heat pump.

Jerimiah was very thorough and professional. I discussed with him my concerns about the system and he addressed everything and even gave me some hints as to how to be more efficient with the air and furnace. He was courteous about entering the home with booties over his work shoes. I would highly recommend this company to anyone! Great value working with Angie's List on the deals. But I would have this company back even without the deal.

The technician removed the old metal main duct and old metal stove pipe supply lines. The old metal duct was about 2 feet to 2 1/2 feet wide and about 10 to 12 inches high. The new duct installed was mold resistant duct board but was very small, only 12 inches square. The difference in size between the old and new main duct cut the air flow to less than half of what it was with the old duct. My monthly electric bill jumped by $40 per month and now my heat pump cooling/heating system runs almost constantly. The technician was also very angry at his company and complained about them most of the day. I wonder if he deliberately installed a very small duct to cause his company trouble. I plan to hire a different company to install a larger and more appropriate sized main duct for my home. Watch out for Gulfshore A/C and chose someone else with a higher number of positive reviews.

After I posted this review I received a phone call a few hours later from a very upset person at Gulfshore A/C. He said he would be willing to send someone to look over the work and correct any problems. I can't give them access to my home until November so I'll post an update then. Pity the work wasn't done correctly from the start.

Originally this company was to come on Tuesday the 25th.  It was a no-show completely.  I called the company back, told them no one came. The person who answered the phone wanted to put me on hold while she checked.  I told her no, that I was home, and no one showed up.  I then refused to make a second appointment, saying I was going to call another AC Company and said good bye.   The phone rang about 15 minutes later., it was the same lady.    I told her that I had just joined Angie's List and was writing about my bad experience when she called .  She apologized for their error and asked if I would please reconsider, the techs would be on time and the $55.00 check-up would be free.  So we made a second appointment for today, the 26th.
Today Craig and Travis came out on time.  As they performed their check-up they explained everything to me.  They are professional, polite, intelligent and they are proud of their company and the work they do.
I ended up joining the Maintenance Club and will get my AC unit checked, cleaned twice a year by trained people!
so of course I would call them again.

called for service check as unit was not cooling as it should be doing. Found bad leak in evaporator and a few other parts. Over all cost to repar was 50% of a negotiated replacement. The decision was made to replace as the old unit used R22 and was low seer rating, the cost of operating this old unit was high. The work was done the same day with very little down time. The job was done far above what was required and to my request. excelent service and worth giving them a chance. MR BILL

They gave me the option to replace it and gave me a great estimate. Much to my regret I did not get any other offers and took the best unit. He arrive at noon and after I agreed the unit was install by 6pm. The response was good and the punctual was good as well. The quality was good too. I probably should of got more estimates. Do not use them unless you have two other estimates.
