    Cook's Heat & Air
I am a soldier who was away on orders. My wife called Cook's to replace our old AC/Heating unit. They sold us a nice AC/Heating unit along with a solar option. This was in August 2016. To date we have yet to receive the solar system at nearly 20k. The salesman promised her 8-10 weeks because of permitting time, which was reasonable. However, it is now December and no solar system. The managers hide under their desks I presume because they won't call me or her back. You can't get past the receptionist on the phone. I've asked to speak to a manager, sales rep, sales director, etc. and nothing. No call backs and no transfers. Our next call is to an attorney at this point. This company has a satisfaction guarantee but we are most definitely NOT satisfied and they are less than professional at handling customers or issues. I've already may complaints to the BBB and the state's attorney general's office. Solar means tax breaks but if you don't have it you can't get them and that's what they guaranteed.

Air Ducks Heating & Air Inc
The technician repaired the a/c very promptly and was super nice.  He also checked the entire unit for any other problems just out of courtesy.  I would recommend this company to anyone.  They are an honest company and I will call them if needed in the future.

They worked really fast and got everything done in one day!We are very happy with the work done and the ability of the people doing the work to answer all of the questions that we had. They also informed us of a water leak we had under the home which would have cost us a lot of money if left unfixed. We will continue using them for all of our AC/Heating services or needs.

    Air America Heating & Cooling
Arrived punctually after calling for service. Checked freon charge and determined that unit was out of freon. Stated that evaporator coil was probably leaking but did not have his leak detector with him as he had loaned it to another technician. He left to get his leak detector. After approx. 40 minutes returned and determined that the evaporator coil was leaking.
My a/c unit is 9 years old and to replace the evaporator coil would cost approx. $1k plus recharging freon R-22 at a cost of $342 + service labor costs and I decided it was not cost effective but would get a new package installed with the new coolant R-410A as it is more cost effective and environmentally friendly.
The service technician was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable on my a/c system. However when I asked him about the 10% seniors discount, he stated they could not give it on a new install and when I was given the bill there was no 10% discount given on the bill. If they are not going to honor the discount then they need to either remove it from their page or clarify what is included in the discount. While I would use them again I would be wary of recommending them to other senior citizens as they did not honor their advertised discount.

    Air America Heating & Cooling
I had Air America install 2 new Trane A/C units, I had
issues with proper installation from beginning on both units. Unit 1,
install 04/20/11 for down stairs, had a freon leak and issues with sealing
on air handler. The unit was not sealed properly which resulted in a black
soot/dust to be blown out in house. I had them come out at least 4 time to
no avail, They wanted to say it was because I have dogs inside and smoke.
The freon leak result in them putting more in first time at $70.00
charge, with no repair. Then second time charged $343.00 and did repair. I
was inform the valve core they replaced should have be under warranty, as
it should not have be bad so soon after install. Second unit was installed
06/27/11,for the upstairs. Had no issues that I was aware of as it worked
better than old unit. We thought everything was correct until thermostat
stopped working on 12/01/13. I did not want to have Air America back
because of previous issues so I called a different company. Once they went
into attic to check wiring for thermostat they informed us of shoddy work
and the new unit not being installed correctly. We were only getting
approximately 30% of air flow. They took my husband up and showed him. Air
America did not put new box in for duct work, never sealed several areas.
New company had to replace all of it. It cost $1050.00 We never checked
behind Air America as we trusted them at the time. Plus being in the
attic. We had high electric bills for running unit almost none stopped
during summer months. Air America has new technicians all the time, which
    obliviously are not qualified.
. I will be going to Small Claims court to recoup my money hopefully. After posting this and filing with court Mr. Taylor contacted me and stated he was not aware of all the issues and was very apologetic. He did not hesitate to refund all funds that were incurred. Mr. Taylor was very prompt in bring them to me the next morning. This says alot for him, he assured us that individuals that had done the work were no longer employed by him.

    Hall's Air Conditioning & Heating
My central unit A/C stopped working. The fan was on but it wouldn't cool. The temp. reached 88 deg. inside. After my call to David Hall's Air Conditioning and Heating, Mr. Hall was at my house in less than two hours. He thoroughly checked the unit, inside and out and determined that the problem was with the thermostat. He and quot;jiggledand quot; the cooling switch and the unit started working. Seems that the problem was with me. I had not pushed the switch over far enough. He could have charged me for a new thermostat but he was honest enough to explain what I had done and assured me that the unit was working just fine. He didn't even charge me for a service call, explaining that he was already in the area.
We have been using Mr. Hall for our heating and cooling needs for several years. We have always found Mr. Hall to be excellent at his profession, reasonably priced, and again, HONEST!! I can highly recommend him.

    AK2 Mechanical, LLC
We had a non-working central ac. The unit was old. The gentleman
attempted to 'patch fix' it for us but it didn't last due to other
problems with the a/c showing up after the patch. We requested a
replacement price. His was a bit higher then another dependable
provider in our area so we used the other company for replacement but I
would not have hesitated to use him if his price for the replacement
unit would have been competitive with the other company (who I think cut
their price due to work shortage in the whole market). AK2 was not in
a position to cut price at that time (starting out a new business). I
    would certainly recommend using him....

    North Central Florida Air Conditioning
I was looking for estimates to replace a 20 year old heat pump in High Springs.   Chuck Fisher the owner came out to give me a quote.   By this time I has spoken to a number of contractors and specialists so I knew what to watch for in how the person communicated with me and what was said/needed to be covered.   I found Chuck to be very thorough and knowledgeable and he covered all the items needed - size of piping, unit size, how to install (this system had part of the unit upstairs in the attic and part outside), barriers to address, etc.  His price was within the majority of the bids I received.   I found him very 'down to earth'/no games and would recommend he be considered by others.   We didn't use him only because another local contractor came in much less then the majority of the bids.

    Cook's Heat & Air
The estimator was 45 minutes late but called to let me know. I felt it was a 'sales pitch' - a little too scripted. I checked the ratings on the unit recommended and did not like them. I found a Htg & A/C contractor highly recommended for $700 less then their quote and would install a number of brands depending upon what I wanted.

    ACE Heat and Air Inc
The estimate was conducted in a professional manner and timely.    I chose them for two reasons - first I had local residents who had used them and were satisfied and second the price - they were about $700 under most other bids.     They arrived on time and completed the installation quicker then estimated.   They were very clean (one unit was in the attic above a bedroom ceiling) and professional.    I did have to bring them back the same day as the unit shut off because the float valve recorded an accumulation of water in the pan.   They came back promptly and cleared the drain.   The original installation 20 years ago had left an unnecessary 'loop' in the drain which clogged and they replaced it and all has worked well since.

They also registered the unit for me with the manufacturer and sent me a copy for my records.

They would install most any brand unit for the same price but I went with their recommendation of what was most commonly installed in the area.  It was difficult finding reliable evaluations of the brands of heat pumps.

I would highly recommend using them - even if you think they might be a bit far away.
