Proformance Heat and Air was the company sent by Choice Home Warranty. Ezra Masson was the tech. I was kept well informed on his arrival by his Proformance team. He arrived on time and was very professional. He had the problem taken care of quickly as he knew what the problem was by his past knowledge and experience of the problem. I recommend this company and would use them in the future.

Very pleasant man.  Knowledgeable.  I was a little surpised that there's an addition charge if you use a credit card.   It's not much, 1.9%.  However, I have never had a warranty service provided charge me for their fee to do business with a credit card company. As a side note, I am a realtor.   I have been selling Real Estate for 38 yrs.  This is the first time I called your company.  I am very pleased with the Choice's professionalism.  I will be referring clients to you.

I called them and ask them to if I could get my repairman to come out and fix it in and then cover it they said yes the bill was for $210 and then they pay me $50 because I didn't wait on their serviceman for next week or sometime I have medical issues that require a c and I can't wait for them to find someone to come out

In both cases, the repair was less than satisfactory, but this had more to do with the local contractors they sent rather than the company itself. The way home warranties work is that you call them ... they send a preferred provider.  For the provider to do the work, you pay a co-pay.  In principle, the rest of the work is covered by the warranty. In practice, many of the MOST COMMON repairs are specifically excluded by the warranty. In the case of our well pump, the contractor fixed the wrong well (we have two). The problem we called about was not addressed. In the case of the air conditioning, the contractor told us we needed a special thermostat, which he did not have.  However, later, the warranty company called us to say "why did you refuse the thermostat that was on the truck?". In the end, we simply replaced the thermostat ourselves.

When you call for service, its frustrating.   You are supposed to wait for the contractor to call you.  They have a random assortment of people they use so you don't know who you are going to get.   For the garbage disposal, that worked fine - it wasn't a speed issue.  The person came out, on time and replaced the unit.  For the a/c, that is something you need in the summer.  Each time it would take several days to get a response.   We had to call three times for service within a year so clearly they were not finding the problem.  Each time it worked after they left for a while and then went out again and we had to go through the same process of waiting for the contractor to call and delayed response in getting there.   Finally, my husband went out and started looking over the unit and found a part that was shorting out.  You could see the part had been deteriorating over time and should have been replaced - it was corroded and shorting out sporadically.  My husband called a local parts place and we replaced it for about $50 - the cost of the deduct/copay amount on the service calls.  The most frustrating part is that they won't give you a list of 'approved' contractors to use so you can call yourself and get a quicker response.   When you have to sit and wait for a contractor to call you, it unnecessarily wastes time.  If they would change their procedure so you can select and call from an 'approved' list, that would make more sense for the customer.   I did find that the contract was pretty plain about what it did and did not cover.   I think people need some knowledge about the workings of appliances/home repairs however to clearly understand what is covered/not covered. If you are buying a home with old appliances, it might be worthwhile to get the insurance.  If not, then I think we would have been better off just paying for the calls and skipping the 'middleman'.

They are consistently sending providers that are not prepared to do the work. I would tell a friend or a family member not to use this service. I would not use this provider again.
