ATotal Home RoofingThe old roof had been done poorly using about 8-12 nails per shingle when there should have been 3-4 nails per shingle. Yes I did say 8-12 per shingle and had destroyed many of the roofing planks underneath by splitting them from too many nails. The original estimate was $12,290.00 for the roofing and was in the middle of the quotes I had received. There was about $3,600.00 in repairs at $6.00 per liner foot of board, all of which could not have been foretold. They originally had said it would be about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks before starting and did turn out to be about 3 1/2 weeks before starting the job. They started between 7 and 7:30 AM each morning and continued till about dark each and every day till they were finished. It took 4 days to complete our 2250 sq. foot house that has a flat roof awning over a section of out porch. Total roofing was about 46 sq. of roofing. The arrived each day and about 11AM or so they came to the door and told me their status of the repairs. Each and every time I went out to see how things were going they always greeted me with someone checking if there was anything I needed. Always cordial and keeping me aware of what was going on each and every day and again at the end of the day. The roof looks great and the weather was perfect as there had been no rain during the repairs. My only complaint was the extra repair costs and I do understand the repairs were absolutely necessary and I believe done correctly.
