    Jeff came and serviced both of my units. I knew one had issues. He explained what was wrong and gave a few options on how to proceed. Once he was done the A/C was working awesomely. I'm very satisfied and will use them again.

    Put units in places in my attic that made the units impossible to repair. Had a coolant leak in one units from day one that they could not find the leak and another company found in two minutes. Both units have had multiple repairs over a few years. He didn't register my units, but told me he did so my warranty was voided. Was supposed to replace my duct work, but found out later he didn't. I would stay as far away from these guys as I could, Worse work I ever had done by anybody and the follow up service was horrible too.

    A year ago they responded to an SOS related to a full A/C failure. They were prompt and professional. It took several days, in the heat of the summer, till they were able to fix it, but they had to get a part from the west coast so we sweated through the ordeal. While they were working on replacing the main board, I also engaged them to clean the system. I thought the charge was high ($1000), but needed it done. A year later, one of the A/C mini-split heads stopped working. They came the next day. I paid $200 for them to trouble shoot it, which took approximately 20 minutes. (Subsequently another A/C service charged me only $95 to trouble shoot!) They said they would order the part and get back to me. After I week, I had not heard from them. When I called they said they could get the part but it would take 4-6 weeks. I said okay. What could I say. I left it in their trustworthy hands. After 6 weeks I heard nothing from them. I called. I left 4 messages, which were all unreturned. On the 5th try, someone answered. He said he couldn't get the part. Would have been nice to know that 5 weeks ago. Still puzzled why they didn't communicate with me and thus the low review. I have to say that I thought they were really nice people, but obviously my business wasn't that important to them. So be it. But a little courtesy and honesty would go a long way when servicing a small community like Key West. Because of the later incident, I wanted to give them an F, but that wouldn't be fair. If you're lucky, have deep pockets, and the problem isn't complicated, they are okay. Just be aware. I thought I had actually found a reliable service, but that wasn't the case.

    Joe came out to inspect my unit and said it would need to be replaced which I already knew. He said he would email me a quote and they never did. 1 week after they visited I called to inquire and was told by Victoria that they have been "really busy" and he "probably forgot." She said would would have joe call me back, this was on a Wednesday. July 1 Joe called me and quoted me a price which seemed very low and as it turns out he was quoting me someone else's price. He then gives me the cost which amounted to $4500. He said he would email me the official quote on that following Monday. I have not heard back from them as of 7/19/16. I will be hiring someone else.

    They fit me in their schedule the next day, and fixed the problem right away.
    I've used them a handful of times now, and always been satisfied. They have helped keep a couple of old A/C systems running beyond their time, and installed a complete new system for me. I've tried  a couple other companies, and felt fortunate if they even answered their phone. Core Mechanical of Summerland Key has always been responsive and always fixed my A/C problems right the first time.

    Joe and Victoria were so professional, prompt, and helpful in providing us a quote, addressing my questions, providing us a work around for when another company had to perform some extra unrelated work, suggesting how to maintain our new system, and gaining the proper permits for our home community. 

    I am so glad I found McClain's on Angie's List.  I called McClain when my usual AC maintenance company seemed to be very delayed in getting me a quote, gaining the permit information, and had no idea when they could perform the work.

    I reached out McClain's and they were on top of getting back with and performing the work.  They cleaned up any mess and even reinstalled my gate that surrounded my air compressor.  Joe has a nice, calm and thoughtful manner that reassured me that the work would be done correctly and in a timely manner.  I am so glad my usual stand-by company fell-through, and that I was able to find McClains.  I've recommend them to 4 people in just as many days.  Great job Joe, Victoria, and Mike~

    Great. Temps were off the chart here (real feel was 102 degrees). The regular guy we used had a booked up voicemail and we found he left the island. Anyway mcclains came out a day after. I called, it was a nonemergency, but we knew something was off the was the unit was running. Joe was terrific. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. It seems to be working fine. We will certainly contact McClain again for HVAC service.

    Called the company on a Sunday. They arrived on Monday to give me the bad
    news I had expected.  My 15 year ole A/C unit had finally died.   Later that day
    I received an estimate which I accepted.  The new unit was installed on Thursday
    of the same week.
     
    The Monday they arrived it was very hot (when else do A/C's die). They
    offered and I accepted a portable A/C loaner.  Fast response.  Professional
    service. Friendly and capable people.

    Jim Rutherford Construction & Remodeling LLC
    Contracted to build single family in twelve to fourteen month time frame,  Breached his contract after eighteen months when liquidated damages were about to take effect.   This occurred despite solving his issue cash flow issues that he hid from us for nearly a year and his still failing to make meaningful progress.  His lack of candor wasted our time and money.  Money he could have earned with extra work we had planned during the course of construction. 
    Further, he took advantage of the fact we were only able to check on the work monthly and ignored numerous contract requirements.   He constantly,  operated on a    ?crisis management basis?.   Problem routinely had to be addressed immediately, in order to keep the project moving, but no work was done after the issue was solved.
    Several of the sub-contractors he used were either incompetent, dishonest or both.  Law enforcement became involved in several cases.   During the recovery period, found numerous construction mistakes, lack of proper insurance/liability
    renewals, use of substandard materials and incomplete work that had to be redone due to the deterioration of materials. 
    Also paid for materials were missing and waste material dumped on sight.  
    Some completed work was just plain unacceptable.   So far we have had to rebuild the HVAC ducting and wiring,  replace flashing, repair walkway railings, correct main electrical wiring.   Unfortunately other discovered problems are
    just too expensive to correct.  We dread what other unknown issues may emerge in the future.
    During building, questions regarding construction issues showed a total lack of familiarity with the project and supervision of the work.  We often had to show him answers to his inquiries in the construction plans or how to solve construction issues addressed there also.
    He underbid contract to get it and constantly found ?code requirements? that required additional costs.  A lot of these changes were paid for and never delivered.  The only thing that saved us from losing more money, was the Lender?s requirement that all sub-contractors and suppliers certify in writing they had been paid in full at each draw and our follow
    up with every supplier for confirmation.
