    Surface Experts Inc
Ok so I have written reviews before, but I have NEVER had the pleasure of writing the kind of review I am about to write. I will start by saying that we are originally from NY and bought our home a bit less than 3 years ago and that was the same time I moved to FL. We purchased an amazing property however it ended up needing Much more Real work than ever anticipated. I saw this to let ppl know that we have Vast experience with contractors of every type. Hopefully not many of you do. We recently realized that we needed to have our mattress cleaned. Yes, we had one of those expensive mattresses covers on since the day it arrived but when we took it off to clean it...well lets just say not the best investment. Again, as I am so familiar with contractors, we have a golden rule of 3. 3 quotes for everything. ****, sometimes it ends up you need more than 3. As always, I turned to Google (also, Home Advisor, Angie's list and Thumbtack) read reviews, check with BBB, research what needs to be done, prices, different ways to obtain our goals, price estimates for our area and then made the calls. As always, these calls vary per company very much. I had almost made my mind up on a Tampa Co., but something told me to just make a few more calls... That is the first time I got to speak with Paul, the owner of Surface Experts. I called and got voicemail, which basically was normal with the exceptions that part of his message was basically about helping others obtain their goals (I will let you find out quote for yourself). I got a call back by end of day from Paul, whom was more detailed than Anyone else by far. He told me I was missing questions I should be asking lol, he was correct. He proceeded to tell me the information I was missing, and I thought to myself "no way, this man actually seems like he not only cares but is invested in our needs", obviously the thought was fleeting as I have come to learn that ppl can somehow sound like that but the same thing always happens. At the end of the day no one really cares what they did to you as long as if they get paid. However, I couldn't completely let go of how Paul was and knew this was someone I at least had to try once and basically see if he was any kind of real as he seemed. Well, never did I think that he would be as good as he sounded. SHOCKER, he wasn't, he was a MILLION times better!!! Paul is not just a Stellar business man, owner and cleaner. Paul is by far one of the most ethical, highest of character and has truly a amazing value and belief system ppl I have had the pleasure of meeting. Our house still needs a lot of Lipstick if you know what I mean but the purchases we have made and changes we have made already, mean the world to us however no one that comes into our home to provide service seems to care very much about the time, work, heart, blood ,sweat, tears and money and dedication that we put into our biggest investment. Paul put up a complete plastic covering on our front door to prevent bugs from coming in and heat from getting out! (See pictures below) He had a Saran Plastic machine? (never seen it before, not even with plumbers!) that he stepped on and put plastic on the bottom of his shoes, to protect dirt from tracking in house (oh and not once, every time he went outside and came back if. New plastic). (See pictures below) Paul put plastic corner pieces on the sides of our furniture, corners of walls and door frames (See pictures below). He did this to prevent the tubing of his machine from rubbing against our leather, paint and wood, so nothing in our home could possibly be damaged, scuffed, wear marks etc. This could possibly seem logical to some of you however I can tell you with the vastest experience with any kind of service ppl or contractors that could possibly come to your home...logic does not seem to really exist. Yes, I have had ppl put on shoe booties but that's about it. Also, there is Truly something so Wonderful about having someone in your home that not only treats your house like theirs and with complete respect and integrity but also treats your home and belongings like you could be his wealthiest of clients. As for his job. WOW! Yellowing on mattress, which is less than 3 yrs. old, wine that got through your "water, spill proof, accident proof mattress pad", possible accidents by your furry baby ect..on the best mattress you have Ever slept on, that you really didn't expect and cringed at the thought that all that money might just be lost. Then to see it back to its beautiful original whiteness, completely sanitized (with the best and safest worry-free products and equipment) deodorized (no chemical nor nauseating smells. Just clean freshness), beyond hot water (we all know hot, hot water is cleaners best friend), scotch guarded (for future hopefully non-issues), not sopping wet (we are back in our bed tonight!) and no worries of creating any other problems due to not over soaking (be careful about that) Nothing else we could ask for. Paul also did 15 pillows. Some of which had blue hair dye, some over 10 yrs. old and wine and yellowed stains, some less than 3 years old, every single type of pillows (including cool technology), all or 95 % always had pillow protectors on (not sure they are worth the money anymore), a cashmere throw pillow with blue dye and 6 of them had just been washed last weekend, with stain removers (which I guess technically cleaned them however did not seem to remove the stains). All of which now look amazing! Even though I didn't book some things ahead of time, as I had not remembered or realized that we had these issues. I had realized that there where wine stains and tanning stains on the sides of the box spring zippered covers. Paul also cleaned those up for up. You would Never know they ever existed now though. He also did the bottom of mattress and it's not even a flip over (just because it made us feel better). Then even though I felt dumb asking him, well until I had spent time with him and after realizing he was only totally here to make us feel comfortable and got the nerve. I went into our storage and brought out a really nice hamper that I love but unfortunately got blood in it and I never wanted to put clean clothes in it again. I mean it was blood and if I bleached it, it would have been ruined and I just really like it. I showed it to him, and he flipped it inside out and in 5 minutes...Boom, sanitized, original colors and back to brand new again. Now one would think that with his ability and all the effort he puts in that he could and would...hmm I don't know maybe should nickel and dime you. I mean **** he's worth every penny and more but Paul no way. Trust as I called many of mattress cleaners and Surface Experts are totally competitive and less expensive from several that just tried to shove sale down my throat. I like to treat anyone in my home like family. Offer coffee, food etc... That's the way we were raised. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem it's appreciated by many these days as they still leave our home with a job unfinished and So poorly done. For Paul I ran out and picked up a small gift for. Just in such an appreciation for his work ethic and treatment of myself and our home. Hey that I don't ever do but Paul and his company Surface Experts our now going to be in our inner circle. Our team as we like to say. Our team of family, friends and those rare but few ppl we have come to trust and respect. Those that put their best foot forward to help our family and business achieve our goals and dreams. Thank you, Paul, Surface Experts, for joining our team. Your information is going out to anyone I know, and I know we will see you for what we now know will be our yearly cleaning of all mattresses and pillows. Hopefully we get to have some Epoxy fun very soon as well! One regret...I never took before pictures!!! Paul remind ppl to do that! Such a world of difference!

    Sears Appliance Repair
I purchased the fridge and took it home and set it up myself. The price was good except for the warranty. Appliance part was fine, but on the warranty they totally ripped me off. I didn't receive any service even though I paid $300 for it. I have not stepped foot in a Sears since then.

    Dakota Furniture Repair
Great! He arrived promptly. appraised the repair, explained what needed to be done, we discussed alternatives, he quickly retrieved some additional bolts and such, returned, tidied, vacuumed area. He was very personable, knowledgeable and did a great job. He even offered some tips regarding the repair and gave a follow-up call.

    Wood Dawgs Woodcrafts
We had Wood Dawgs Woodcrafts make us a custom bar for our covered pool area. They used beautiful reclaimed materials and we could not be happier with it. They took time to come out and consult with us on what we wanted and the size of bar that we needed. When they came to install the bar, we discovered that they added features we had not even thought of - going way above and beyond what we expected. If you need anything custom made - do not hesitate to call them! They also have pieces that are already made and it all looks like artwork to me. I love that they use reclaimed materials and handmade in USA. If you can dream it up, they can make it. It's such a good feeling supporting local businesses.

    GODWIN UPHOLSTERY AND INTERIORS, INC.
Went to Godwin's store in April to look for fabric to do our chairs.  Gaile helped us find several patterns we liked and allowed us to take the books of samples home.  We also talked to her about the chair we wanted to refinish.  Did not realize they also did that type of work.  She gave us color samples for the refinish and we took them home also.  After a few days we went back to order the chair covers and also took the the chair to refinish.  We agreed on a price and left everything to be done.  Within one week she called and told us the covered chair seats were done.  They looked great when we picked them up.  She told us the chair to refinish would take longer which was OK with us.  We just got the chair back today and it looks fantastic.  All in all, very satisfied with their work.

    R G Piano Services LLC/ Richard Grimolizzi
Richard was great. He was prompt, arrived as scheduled, responded promptly. He  took the inside of the piano and repaired the pads of the keys.  He is an informative, personable, professional who is extremely talented and knowledgeable about the inner workings of the instrument. He was also able to give some background about the instrument. The piano now sounds phenomenal, We plan to use him for as long as he is available. He gave us tips on how to continually improve the sound quality. We have had the piano tuned previously over the years, but this is the best and most thorough tuning it has ever had. This gentleman provides excellent service. If we should ever relocate, he is well worth the cost of a plane ticket to travel to another state to service our instrument!

    Billiard Man LLC
They were very punctual, professional, friendly, and informative.
It turned out to be more expensive than expected, but my table was about 15 years old had been in storage for awhile and they demonstrated why the rails were needing to be updated.  They took the old rails with them and had them reworked and delivered/installed the next week, just as they had told me.
The level is guaranteed for 60 days, and I noticed some slight movement of the balls.  (It was installed on a new rug, which might have caused some uneven settling).  They came back out within a couple days of when I called, and it was indeed off (but only barely).  They tweaked the level and it's great.
They were very friendly and I'd recommend them to anyone.  They also often have used pool tables and accessories for sale.  (I got a cue rack).

    Dakota Furniture Repair
I'd had a couple people look at my chair to see about getting it repaired. One suggested gluing it (the way it was broken off I knew this would never hold) and another suggested grinding out one piece and whittling down the other ( which would have made it shorter than the other unbroken chair). Luckily I read about Dakota Furniture Repair in Angies List and took the chair to get his opinion. His idea sounded like the best I had heard so I left the chair with him. I picked the chair up today and couldn't be more pleased with his work. Not only does it still match the other chair exactly but I'm sure it's now sturdier than it was before the break! And he was so pleasant to work with that I will definitely recommend him to others who want quality workmanship. I can't thank him enough.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went well once we made contact. I bought the deal 6 months ago and didn't hear from him. He seemed really professional and very experienced. There were no problems. I don't know where the communication fell through and if it was him or Angie's List. The only issue was the time it took. The work was fine. The price was fine.
