If you are looking for a Golf School and are considering Golf Made Simple - DON'T !!.  I was lulled into taking the GMS school in Palm Coast Florida mostly based on their claim they are the 3rd rated Golf School in the country. Here's what to expect - the course runs 3 days and is located at very nice resorts. No complaints there. Day one your instructor meets you, goes through some preliminary intros and then you head to the range.  You spend the morning hitting partial wedge shots. The instructor tells you they want you to learn to hit all your clubs varying lengths based on length of back swing. A couple times during the morning the instructor will stop and tell you some stories about monkeys (I'm serious, I believe the owner of the school must have some sort of monkey fetish, it's all over the GMS web page). You then head to lunch. After lunch you play 9 holes, but, you're only allowed 3 clubs. I believe this is to reinforce the amazing GMS revelation that you can vary the distance of a club by taking a shorter swing.  On the course the instructor will impart an occasional pearl of wisdom like for example if there's water on the left, you may want to aim towards the right side of the fairway.

I'd like to say day's 2 and 3 are more useful, but they aren't. You'll spend virtually all your range time hitting a wedge. They do have a couple driver drills, but again they seem to emphasize hitting partial shots. I have no doubt the course is deliberately designed for very high handicappers and by using the easiest possible clubs to hit, they're able to get very poor golfers to show a tiny improvement.

Golf Made Simple uses no training aids, no video, no swing monitors and nothing that will measure any sort of swing metric. They have a couple very basic drills, but similar drills can be found in pretty much any issue of Golf Digest for a fraction of the price. The instructors don't actually work on your swing so much as they follow a training script. So it's one size fits all, which of course means the training is destined to fail.

In summary, Golf Made Simple consists of 3 mornings of very basic training designed for very high handicappers followed by 9 holes of golf in the afternoons on very nice courses. I got absolutely nothing out of the 3 days other than playing 27 holes at a nice resort for really, really big greens fee.

If you are looking for a Golf School do yourself a big favor and avoid Golf Made Simple.
