    Atlas Service Inc
.BEWARE!!! Atlas Services sold us a home service contract and did not honor their contract. They came out to my home to repair an AC unit, they told me it needed to be replaced and tried to sell me a new unit for $3000. I called AC All Stars for a second opinion before allowing Atlas to replace the unit for $3k. AC All stars came out and for $250 replaced the capacitor , recharged the system & showed me the obvious loose fitting that was the problem then the old AC unit worked great ! I contacted the owner Kimberly and she was nasty to me and said they would not reimburse this repair bill. On another occasion, they came out to fix a leak on my kitchen sink. According to the contract this is a covered service. They told me the part that the strainer basket/drain had a small crack. They said the labor was covered but the part was not. They tried to sell me this part for $120. I checked the part price on Amazon and it was under $10 for the exact part they were selling me. I again and called to speak to management. They told me if I did not buy their part, the service call would not be covered for labor. I told them I would not buy their part and at that point and after canceling that service, they came back knocked at the door and offered to replace the part for $60. This is his company took just under $1000 from me for this service contract. When they figured out that I am educated on repair costs , they realize they could not screw me over, Kimberly the owner canceled my service contract. They refused to refund any of my money. I am currently suing them which is public record through Palm Beach County courts. They be served very shortly. If your considering doing business with this company you should Google atlas services complaints and read the long list that I will be bringing to court.

    Golden Knight Plumbing LLC
I found Paul Clapp of Golden Knight through Angie's List. We wanted to replace our 22 year old water heater. I made a request through Angie's List. Paul called me back within an hour. He came to our home later that day to inspect our water heater and gave us a quote. We agreed to a price. He was there the next morning with a new water heater. He was done in 1.5 hours. The job was quick and professional. Great job!

NOT good! We had a scheduled appointment which we waited 2 days for. The appointment was confirmed and then we received a call that they were sorry and they had to cancel the appointment. It was right before a holiday so we had to scramble to find another company. We got very lucky and did find another company who came out the following day and replaced our Hot Water Heater and updated the plumbing in our home. They were nice on the phone, however seemed like they overbooked. They said they needed to cancel because of emergencies and that they could give us another appointment in approximately 6 days after the 1st. To us, not having water was an emergency and also we did not want to wait the 6 days to get our hot water heater going which was replace by the other company.

    Prestige Solar Inc
I agree with another review on this website. They do answer the phone when you call, or they call you back. It took approximately six months to complete the job, which took them 3 to 4 days. It took a little longer than I would like to complete but they did work with my schedule as I had to refinance my home for this and some other improvements. I was excited to get Solar and wanted to hire a local contractor. My research included scrolling to page 3 of search results and finding a non-ad local search entry. I called them, they sent a salesperson over, I signed up. The salesperson was let go within a month of my purchase. This obviously caused some communication problems. I was told I was given a package pricing deal since I was having three systems installed: Solar Pool Heater 9 4x12.5 panels $6500 Solar Hot Water Heater 80 gallons $6500 Solar Electric PV (5kW) $19,000 The most upsetting part of the process was that nobody went over the plans with me to talk about the installations and what to expect. The first time I saw the plans for the PV system was the day they showed up for the installation. If you get a PV system ask how they are going to attach it to your roof. I have a shingle roof and they drilled holes through the roof and used a caulking material to seal the roof attachment of L foot brackets. Read more about this here: http://solarprofessional.com/articles/design-installation/pitched-roof-racking/page/0/2 They did do the work, the system is functioning very nicely. You can judge the price I paid yourself, like I said I didn't do much research. I would also say have them explain exactly how they will do things, don't get in a rush (like me) of excitement about this. In their installation of the PV system they did drill pilot holes in the roof and one of them leaked. They were very quick and responsive to fix it. There were about 6 (out of approximately 43) of the lags used that ended up being not directly into the rafters. The Delray Beach inspector did not even check this when he approved the installation (and yes I asked him, and he said "no"). That is really frustrating when city employees don't make an effort to do their jobs properly. I tried to ask him if this was a standard way for roof installations, and he would not take five minutes to listen to a licensed roofer's comments on the installation. I guess he doesn't like to talk to concerned homeowners. Anyway back to Prestige Solar. I don't like how I found out afterward about the roof attachment. The saving grace is I need a new roof in a few years anyway and at that time I will have it installed in what I believe is a proper manner. They did deliver and do the work and did a decent job installing per their plans. The system looks good and has produced at a max peak value of 4.6kWs usually though more around 4kWs. That measure is from the system they provide to monitor the PV system. If it was producing at a peak value closer to 5kWs I would give them a better rating. They did a poor job of handling expectations and proactively letting me know about project scheduling. I am working with them on the PV production level, I'll update this review if anything comes of it.

    Papa's Plumbing
Have used this company several times to replace shut off valves and water heater. Have always had a good experience with them. Appointments and quotes have been easy to set up over the phone. They've always shown up on time and performed the jobs professionally. They do quality work at a fair price. Mike performed the work on this job. He was very friendly and answered all my questions.

    Milan and Son Plumbing Inc
Called to get a quote for a 50gal hybrid water heater + installation. Was quoted what seemed like a good price but when plumber came out he had a standard heater. When I called back the dispatcher he said he misunderstood and then gave me the quote for the hybrid water heater + installation.  Quote was $1300 for Rheem hybrid water heater (same one that is $1075 at Home Depot)  and $800 for labor. Called around and got a quote from another Angie's list plumber who quoted me $600 for labor and would match Home Depot price for the heater, saved me $500.   My advise is shop around.

Jim met me at another house to explain options with regard to a remodel project. We discussed options and did not use him for that particular remodel, however, also discussed a home in Delray we were also remodeling.  We scheduled the appointment for an estimate.  Jim was punctual on both occasions and did communicate well.  There was a time limit as solar rebates from FPL were expiring.  Jim did the work, got the inspections completed as well as providing all of the appropriate paperwork (and coaching me) to get the rebate which was a tight turn around. He is courteous, professional, honest (what he would or would not do) and the work was done correct.

    DiMartino Plumbing

The work took longer than both myself and DiMartino Plumbing anticipated due to the permitting requirements and approvals required by the city.  DiMartino Plumbing kept pushing forward until the job was completed.

Throughout the entire process, I was without water for only a few hours.

After the tech presented me with an estimate  of $1730 (assuming my warranty had expired). I thanked him but made no commitment.

The following day Buckeye Plumbing contacted me with a final quote of $1730 (approx.) which included my warranty. I declined when I realized the price should have dropped.
I then compared prices with other companies and found one (via Angie's List) with a fee of $950, which I hired.
When I filed a complaint with Angie's List I was contacted by a Buckeye Plumbing rep who apologized for their tech's mistaken estimate. I was also rewarded a $50 coupon, of which I am most appreciative. The company's attempt to make amends impressed me enough to contact them in the future.
