    Southern Screen, Concrete & Pools
excellent, i waited 10 weeks just to get an estimate from another company who have been in the area for 3o years and had an established reputation. I put money down on their quote and was told it would be another 10 weeks. after 20 weeks and many excuses i got my money back and called Southern Screen. Tammie came out right away, gave me an estimate, explained the process, and won me over. Unlike the other company, she stayed in contact with me the entire time of permitting and as promised delivered a beautiful new screened enclosure. If you want to see their work, contact them and they can arrange for you to see what they did for me, VERY HAPPY fred in Deland.

    Central Florida Screens
They responded to come give free estimate quickly. Took measurements, got me to sign contract, gave $4000.00 deposit, got them the forms and survey they requested. Then no more communication. I had to call them every week for update. They Finally sent "Scott" the building engineer to do another set of " official" measurements. I was told they would be submitted for drawings and he would apply for permit to start build once the drawing were back. I never recieved any other communication from CFL, I had to contact them, they give me the same info for 3 weeks. I speak to a different person every time, asking them to please have someone call me with an update. which they type into a computer and send in an email to Manager, "David" who then will call me back sometime later. Last week I spoke with a "new guy" who stated again, they are waiting on the Engineer to send them the prints so they can then apply for permit. I started this project with CFL the 3rd week of April. I'm about ready to cancel and request my deposit back.

    JP's Painting & Remodeling
The job is not complete yet. owner is not responsive. They still need to put threshold on front door. Interior painting was completed 2 months after exterior. FAILURE TO COMPLETE WORK. Initially they were doing an amazing job. The two gentlemen working on the deck angled the boards in perfect alignment to our wishes and were down in less than to days. I would definitely hire them again. The painters were professional and had great attention to detail. Their work was impeccable.

These people are fantastic.  From the bidding process through construction this company was fantastic.  Professional, prompt, polite AND their work was excellent. I vetted eight different companies before picking them.  Great choice.  I highly recommend them.  If I ever have any work done that they can do they will be the only company I call.

    All Rescreening by Jim
I have had many contractors to my home in the past and if they were all like Jim I would be so happy. He replaced my screen on a very large pool enclosure and did everything RIGHT! He pressure washed my screen frame and replaced all the screen perfectly. He was prompt and courteous and finished the job in a timely manner. He even pressure washed my deck and skimmed my pool and cleaned up afterwards all discarded materials. If i ever need any other work done I will be sure to call JIM! If anyone has any rescreening that needs to be done they would be foolish not to choose JIM!! I will be calling on him again!

DeMike was punctual and professional.  He and his sons worked from 9 am til 5:30 installing the gutters and screened room.  They left the property clear of any debris and were very hardworking and polite. I would definitely recommend this company to all who may be in the market for gutters or screened enclosures.

    Ed Senez Aluminum
We were promised completion in 3 weeks and the project finished after 12.  They changed the design without consulting us and arrived with the wrong windows.  After threatening to cancel the order we worked out a revised design, which they completed in less than 2 weeks.  The county inspector passed the work but commented on the recent decline in quality from Ed Senez Aluminum.

If you decide to use them, you better put a financial penalty in the contract.

    R A Renovations LLC
It went fabulous !  I found RA Renovations, owned by Keith Lawhun, on Angie's List.  We began our renovations in early March 2013.  Keith was always responsive to my calls, kept me up to the minute informed of workers that will be arriving, discussed planned work for the week, punctual for our meetings, and used the BEST workers for all phases of our project.  AND some worked long long hours to accommodate the simultaneous pool construction adjacent to the new room.
We had a 26'x10' screened porch with a slab lower than our existing floor elevation, 2 sets of french doors to family room, and a 'real' roof. We desired to have that room converted to a Florida Room open to our existing family/living room.  For this portion of our work there were items that caused us to revise our original thoughts on what we want. Throughout this change/revision process, Keith was extremely flexible and helpful in explaining what could be done to make the room the way we wanted.
Our room is BEAUTIFUL !!!  We have windows all around the 3 exterior walls looking out over our newly installed pool and garden. We have arched open entry where the 2 sets of french doors previously stood.
After we got the interior design firm we did another change on him.  We changed the exterior of this new room from stucco to hardy-board.  All happily fixed to accommodate our change. We, of course, paid the difference between the stucco and boarding exteriors.  You will need to remember that if you add or change work with any contractor .... you pay the difference beyond original contract.
His attention to detail is superior!  Many days he was here many times throughout the day overseeing the work to be sure that all was done perfectly.  His subcontractors are the best I've ever had do work on any of my homes.  They were timely, courteous, clean, and made sure I was happy with the work they provided.  We had masons, concrete workers, electricians, carpenters, insulation installers, window installation, painters, and gutter installation.  Sometimes, many at one time getting the work done between rain showers.
In addition to this room conversion, we had Keith have guttering installed on all roof on both the first and 2nd floor.  They are beautiful and solved our rain water problems.   Keith's choice of painter contractor was incredible !!  They painted the inside and outside of the new room and the 2 new exterior doors (at other locations on the home).  They also painted our entire exterior and trim on our home.
We are thrilled will all the work completed by Keith and his contractors.  He finished all contracted (and our changes) by the end of July.  This may sound like a long time to some who are considering an undertaking of this magnitude.  It went smoothly with minimal inconvenience to us.  There was the pool construction going on at the same time and all the rain to work around.
We are so pleased with Keith that he is doing additional work for us beyond the completed contract.

    Superior Craftsman Inc
As a new resident in a strange city, I was more than a little apprehensive about hiring "strangers". In my previous city, I had 40 years worth of contacts for all types of tradespeople who had done a myriad of work for me. In fact, many friends came to me for referrals. . Here, I knew no one. I was in for an absolutely pleasant surprise!
Tony (the owner) came by the appointed time for the initial inspection. He was pleasant, professional, and prepared. I explained exactly what I wanted done. He took notes, and shot some pictures of the areas in question. We spoke at length about the project and how it would be executed. I was on a very tight time frame for the work to be completed and he told me they were exremely busy, but would do his best. True to his word, he managed to free up two of his employees for me. James and Sal arrived on time and after sizing up the work, began dismatling the rotting, and visually restrictive trellises. It was clear these were not just "handymen" at work. They were craftsmen who had years of experience in home construction, and thus were able to figure out the best approach in demolition. What impressed me most about their work ethic was their attention to detail. I have seen horror shows unfold in previous jobs when no thought was given to the potential outcome before action is taken. Case in point, the removal of the satellite dish. Prior to starting, both James and Sal walked around it and discussed angles of fall before starting their cut. The result was a "controlled fall" that accomplished the job without further destruction.  As the day went on, the view of the backyard from the porch slowly improved. The last big hurdle was the removal of the satellite dish. Previously, the view from the master bedroom window featured an unobstructed view of the back of this 10' wide monstrous relic from the 80's. By the time these fine men were done, the morning view now includes the pool and a beautiful back acre.
Toward the end of the job, Tony came by to help with the debris removal. The majority of the wood had been cut down to small pieces, as well as the satellite dish. The metal pole for the dish, as well as the 4 x 4 supports for the pergula, were either completely removed or cut several inches below ground-level. The last part of the job was sealing the holes made by the lag bolts and putting the gutters back. The latter ended up in better condition than when James and Sal began working. The gutters are now much more efficient and better attached than before. When work was ended, we all shook hands and I told Tony how happy I was with their work. I was almost sad to see them go. Needless to say, Tony and his crew are now part of my growing contacts in my new home town.
