Dr Celestin  is a very good doctor.  She listens to you and tries a lot of different things until she finds something that works. She recommended the elastic stockings which did make my legs feel better, and the Cleveland Clinic has really pretty ones that are reasonably priced.  I also had a test for the blood flow in my arteries which I had never had before, and she ordered some cream for me to try.  She is a real doctor who cares about her patients which is very difficult to find these days.

My regular doctor retired and I made a conscious decision to go to Cleveland Clinic and changed all my doctors because the Cleveland Clinic system, the MyChart, works so well. They are all seemingly up-to-date. We just walked in there and I said, "I need a new GP." So they gave me a list of doctors. And I said, "How would I know?" They said, "Well, this one has been here so many years. This one has been here so many years. This one is starting a new practice. This one has a newish practice, but it's getting full." That's how I picked it. I was in a car accident and I ended up in the Cleveland Clinic for a week and I couldn't ask for better care. I've been in two other hospitals in the Fort Lauderdale area and I wouldn't take my dog to both of them. I would rather go to the veterinarian clinic. But the Cleveland Clinic just bends over backwards. It's unbelievable, the care you get there. It's headquartered out of Cleveland, Ohio. There are Cleveland Clinics all over United States. The nice thing about it is, if I'm traveling and I go to a Cleveland Clinic, they can get all my medical records. If something happens, boom, you've got the whole thing there. I've only been with them for three years. I can get an appointment within 24 hours. You can't beat that. The office environment is very, very nice. They're very organized. If I've got an 8:30 appointment, I'm in seeing the doctor by no more than 8:40. I'm not sitting there for hours waiting for the doctor. They are very, very good. How they manage to do that, I don't know because they never rush you in an examination. Whether they spread them far enough apart or what, I don't know. They're very professional. They've got very nice nurses. The big thing that I like about Cleveland Clinic is MyChart. They send you to get blood work. You can go into MyChart and you've got your own account. It shows you your blood work. They post everything that you will need to know about yourself. They put in your new appointments. They put in your old appointments, how long it has been since you've seen the doctor. You can ask for an appointment online. You can write to the doctor and the doctor replies to you. 48 hours is the maximum. If you don't get a response, then all hell breaks loose. They're doing what they can do for me. I'm very pleased with it. The one thing that they do do that I don't like is, it seems everyone is their own little company and they all send these freaking little bills off to your insurance company and then your insurance company pays it but you may have to copay on each one of these. 25 cents here, $3 there, $44 here, $17 there, 33 cents here and you get this long listing that you've to go through. The whole thing may add up to $200, which is what you're expecting as far as your copay is concerned. But, why in the hell they can't put it all together and make it one bill, I don't know. I wrote them a letter and told them that, but I don't think it has changed.

All my doctors are associated with them. I'm very happy with them, with the exception of their ENT Department - they're pretty bad. The office is beautiful. It's all marble and upscale. It's very pretty. I have everything over there because I live in Weston, FL and I figure if I ever get sick and they end up taking me via ambulance from my home, that's where they're going to take me. So I want all my healthcare in one place. There is a whole lot of providers. It's not just one provider. They call it a clinic. I came from the allergist today. I have my primary care doctor over there. The gynecologist I went to a couple of weeks ago is over there. There is all different specialties. The only specialty I don't like is there ENT Department. The one thing I don't like about going to the clinic is that parking is very difficult. I've used physical therapy over there. I've used multitude of different specialties. They have a walk in clinic to that you can go to. Instead of charging you urgent care prices they charge you as if you were seeing your primary doctor. I've used them quite a few times.

The doctors there are good. The room situation is nice. Everyone in the maternity section gets a private suite. It's a good experience there. The nurses are pretty good, for the most part. We had a good enough experience the first time to go there the second time, too, and we didn't have anything bad happen the second time. They're not very pushy. You're having a baby and you have certain ideas about how you want to do things, and they go along with how you want to do it.

During the second ER visit it became clear that the ER staff the day prior was not thorough enough in their diagnosing the issue which lead to the second visit. The ER staff on day 2 took the time to not only diagnose the possible problem but admitted the patient for monitoring to make sure they were stable enough to go home this time.
Here is where we experienced another issue. At discharge on day 2 the attending hospital physician wrote a perscription for a glucose meter and supplies. When we went to the pharmacy for pick up we were advised the doctor did not provide enough information to fill the order and insurance denied the claim. We had to go back to the hospital and track down a doctor that could call in the missing information. Not sure why the pharmacy could not call to get that information but they did not. At 10pm we finally had the supplies we needed to monitor our family member over night.
The last item to bring up involved our asking for a referral to a doctor at Cleveland Clinic to provide the eventual followup our family member would require. Attending physician said they would add that doctors name to the online chart info and we could call the next day to get that doctors name and make a appointment. That information was not provided as I found out when trying to make a appointment for followup.
We did not get the world class care Cleveland Clinic is supposedly known for.

She went on to prescribe Aleve, but in prescription form. They packed his finger with a foam that aids in blood clotting, and told us it would fall out in three to four days. We weren't to pull the foam out, or he could start bleeding again. Well, a week later I had to debride his finger (cut away the dead tissue) that had grown over the foam-it wouldn't fall off, and had actually engrafted to the wound! It was very painful for my husband and I was very upset.

Prior to the surgery he had all the required support from nurses, doctor and all staff. They have some renovated rooms, and we were lucky to get one of those. The new rooms are very nice, some with Central Park view, but you share the room with someone else who also just delivered.
In our case, the only complain was for the night nursery staff in the second day, as they didn?t provide all the support and assistance my wife required  taking too long to be in the room to help with medicine and feeding the baby.

Their service is probably the best that I have seen. The therapy worked. They have their own therapy clinic there. They are very professional, and friendly. They have a general interest in the patients. They have a website for patients, where you can go and look at your appointments and prescriptions and things like those. It is very helpful.

they treated me as if I were the only patient they had. They, along with the hospital staff were always on time, even early, and no matter what issues I had, they would see me immediately and never get impatient with my questions. For the procedure I had, I could've gone to many plastic surgeons, but the Cleveland Clinic offers the best of the best when it comes to their surgeons and staff. You will not find a team more interested in making your experience a great one. The cost may be a little higher, but with hospital right there and the endless number of highly intelligent and experienced doctors and nurses, you won't want to go anywhere else. It's the Cleveland Clinic right here in Weston Florida! Take advantage of it!
