Animal Removal reviews in Davie

We had an awful smell in the home that was coming from the air conditioning vents and we had a good idea that it was a dead animal. After searching myself for several hours, I knew that I needed help! I called Critter Control they were extremely professional, courteous and most of all knowledgeable. The technician, Matt was outstanding! As soon as he walked in the door he told me that it was a possum, it had been dead for 48 hours, young and about 10 inches long and was probably in our air conditioning unit or duct work. Matt methodically went through the house and attic and did not quit until he found exactly what he said it was.

We were most impressed with the professionalism of Micah Tolle, the wildlife specialist who initially came out to assess our problem and provide an estimate, and with the competence, kindness and diligence of Ed Ashton, the gentleman who visited our home over several weeks (Feb. to April, 2017) to check attic traps, remove dead rats, and generally serve as a sounding board and semi-therapist as we tried to cope with what felt at times like an unwinnable war. I will say that although the price was high, the company performed and provided the services exactly as they promised. Looking back, though, I do wish they would have suggested performing a smoke test to rule out plumbing as the entry point in the very beginning, BEFORE other possible openings were addressed (i.e, soffit vents, construction gaps, dryer vents, etc) as this rodent "exclusion'' portion of their work was by far the most expensive part of our contract. As it turned out, plumbing WAS the culprit, as we discovered after two additional (and costly) visits from a plumbing company who finally located an old, uncapped pipe serving as a rat highway directly into our attic.

Called the main number and spoke to a live person and they had someone return our call within 30 minutes and were then at the house within two hours (2 person team).  We explained the we had heard something up in the attic as well as something in the wall. They were able to locate a female possum but could see no evidence of anything else in the attic or in the wall.  They also explained the female possum did not appear to have been pregnant based on her condition.  The night after they left we still heard noises in the wall.  We called back the next day and again spoke to a live person.  We had a call back within 15 minutes and the team was back within one hour.  We explained where we heard the noise the previous evening but we could not hear the sound during the day.  The team went into the attic to see if they could find anything before opening up the wall and found a litter of babies.  I asked about the noise in the wall, but the only way to truly rule it out was to open the wall which they wanted to try and avoid.  The team did everything they could to mitigate the issue while avoiding creating unnecessary damage to the house by opening the wall.  The team stated if we heard the noise they would come back and address.  We heard the noise again that night and Rat Control of Florida lived up to their promise and came back (spoke to live person on a Sunday and they were back on Monday in the morning).  They opened a small hole in the wall and were able to find the one remaining baby possum.
Rat Control of Florida is a very professional company that is incredibly punctual and lives up to their promise.  All contractors in South Florida should take some lessons from these guys!

Troy treated my house for ants, and set bait boxes out for rats in the barn. He came back right away, when the ants did, and treated it again. No ants now. When I called about the rat that ran down the barn aisle, he re-baited the two traps, but the rats must really like that stuff. I guess I need a grown cat from the rescue to take care of them! (My house cats are too old for that activity!)

The service went well. They did exactly what the deal stated. The service definitely got rid of the problem we were having at the time. We have had issues with the rodents since then but have not reached out to anyone to take a look. The technician did suggest some areas be sealed up for an extra fee but we did not have that done at the time. He was professional and efficient. He was good at explaining what he was doing and what we could do in the future to eliminate any re occurrences. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

I would not recommend this company, and here is why. After sealing up the openings in the house and getting the rat out, we had them change the insulation in the attic.  The communication between the office the the team of workers was poor. We were told to leave our stored items in the attic, but when they got here they said they had to be removed.  We would have done that prior to arrival if we were told to so. They took it all out, which helped me since items were heavy. However, they didn't cover up things in the bedroom well with the plastic, and this process made a mess! The attic entrance is through the master bedroom closet. Things were not done carefully. They were fast, and very careless. It felt like we had a stampede of bulls in the attic. They were dropping things (probably the floor boards), and the house felt like it was in an earthquake. The vibration made the ceiling light fixture fall out and smash all over the floor.  I'm still removing shards of glass from the carpeting and tiles. A screw came through the bedroom ceiling, and the smoke alarm fell out of the ceiling. They moved furniture to bring the vacuum tube through the window, and failed to put furniture back. They lost the cover to the attic opening, buried under the new insulation.  They failed to put the floor boards back down, so we could no longer store our items back in the attic. It took 3 more visits to fix everything that they ruined. Then they sent only 1 man to move the boards, which was too heavy for him.  Another visit was made to get a team of men here to do that, which should have been done on the original visit. They did replace the broken light fixture and caulked where the screw came through the ceiling. I had to be home again and again for all of these added visits, losing time from work. They also left garbage in my neighbors yard when covering my dryer vent, causing unnecessary problems with the neighbor.  They were careless, and tried to work too fast, causing more and more problems.  I spent 3,500 dollars, and my lost wages.  They did fix the problems, but they never should have happened in the first place.  I would never use this company again, nor would I recommend that you let them into your home.

I could not be happier with the response and service from Critter Control. We recently moved into an older home, and did not realize we had an issue upon moving in. Critter Control really came to the rescue. They have been attentive to us, and have really personalized the service to fit the individual needs of our home. Our home feels like a happy and comfortable place to come home to now that they have gotten our issue under control. The contacts have acted very professionally, and the price points have
been very fair. We have maintained ongoing service with them for indoor/outdoor pest control as well. I would highly recommend this company to any of my friends or neighbors.

I called on Monday  and scheduled an appointment for May 6 at 3:30 pm.  They did not keep the appointment and they never called.  I called several times (at least 6 to follow up).  After several calls that were not returned, I finally received a call and scheduled an appointment for May 8.  No show again.  Called several times and finally someone called and they sent someone on May 9.  He sprayed and said the tech would come early following week.  Made an appointment for May 14.  No show again.  I must have called at least 8 times for follow up and finally someone called on May 16.   It took several more calls to get someone to come and check the trap and put screens on the final vent.
The service people who did show were very pleasant and professional. Luis was the initial person and did a good job.  Julian was delightful and he did a great job also.
Overall, it was very frustrating experience getting them to return phone calls and to show up when they had made appointments.  I understand that sometimes it is necessary to reschedule, but please have the courtesy of a phone call to say you are not coming.

We had a possum in our garage that I assumed was coming in only at night and spending his days elsewhere. The representative from Critter Control took a look around the garage and found that the possum had built a nest behind our water heater and had moved in full-time! He quickly caught the animal and that was that. The Critter Control employee (I wish I remembered his name) made me feel comfortable and was very professional and courteous. For some reason I assumed an animal trapper would be an old, rough and weathered type of guy. But he was young, nice-looking and friendly. This probably shouldn't matter, but I'll admit that it does to me! He looked for points of entry and returned the next day to repair those. I will call them with any future problems I have with pests. I guess it was a quick job for $400, but I would definitely not want to have to do that work myself, I had no problem with the price.

The owner's name is Terry Harper.  They are excellent.  The only thing I wasn't totally happy with was the rodent.  I think it was the employee I suppose to the company standards that raised the problem.  They charge $600 for yearly contract for rodents.  It is $490 annually for the regular pest control.  It is basically yearly for the pest control, except when I have problems, and then of course, it is included in the yearly price.  Usually, he comes one to two times in the course of the year because that's as much as problem I have.  They are A on everything, except for rodent control.  I have actually had no occasion to use anybody else, so I have no clue how to grade him on price.  I always call the owner directly.  I feel they are pretty organized and pretty with it.
