We have a very old unit, coming up on 24 years now. So there's obviously going to be some issues. Every summer, we had Walkers Cooling Heating come out and they would work magic to get us one more summer out of it. I'm sure this is atypical but he is very good at what he does. When it comes time for replacement, we'll be going through Walkers.

Mr. Evans checked over my entire system which was in fairly bad shape. He went over everything and showed me things that were about to go bad and explained to me what he could do to make my old unit run for one more year and he also went through and showed me many other things that I didn't know about. I feel he treated me fairly and I feel that I was charged accordingly. Mr. Evans was also prompt and on time and had all work completed in a very timely manner. I will have Better Heating and Air Conditioning do my work again.

To begin with, Heath and his company was not the first option we called; however, he was referred to us through a mutual business friend. My previous unit (Goodman 4 ton condenser matched with a 5 ton air handler) was installed in 2006. It needed an evaporator coil, as shown through the diagnostic check through another vendor (was a nightmare of an experience). The other vendor was a pushy, sales first style company that was more concerned about the sale of a new unit (in excess of $10,000); was actually a ~$600 job to repair. This company was not the preferred option, rather required as I went through our home warranty company. We soon fired the other company and went through a payout option with the warranty company for the replacement of the evaporator coil. Needless to say, we did not go with replacing the evaporator coil after all; mainly due to working with Heath and the great deal and professionalism he and his crew provided. After negotiating with Heath and going over pros/cons of units/brands as well as pricing, for greater than 6 weeks (Heath is extremely patient); we went with replacing the unit. Bottom line: Heath and his crew showed up in two modern work vans (without advertising all over them), on time, neat in appearance, professional, and ready to work. They saw our needs as we saw them and were never pushy from beginning to end, offered appropriate advice when necessary. Heath was never sales heavy and once we did purchase the unit with him, his demeanor and attitude never changed. Great company, wonderful experience. Start of install job to finish, including testing: ~3 hours. Services provided: 6 weeks worth of back and forth emails, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings (didn't charge a penny) to provide endless options for repair/replacement. He installed new 4-ton 14 Seer Condenser and Air Handler combo, repaired drain line, fixed thermostat wiring for new unit in +/-3 hours.

Our unit has been leaking for over 2 weeks, in the middle of the hottest part of the summer. Spence came out on the 27th, then again on the 29th. On the 29th, he mentioned a part had to be ordered so a photo was taken of the part number. The office then placed the order for the part on July 6th. We're understanding of the holiday in the middle of the week, however, there were three business days prior to the date the part was ordered. We have containers catching the water, which are emptied twice a day, as well as towels that are soaking up any water that the containers are not catching (more often than not, they're completely soaked). Turning the unit off when it reaches 90 degrees outside isn't something we can do as we work from home, have a handicapped resident and two large dogs. When calling about the ordered part, we're continuously told, "It'll be here today or tomorrow." We were told they would check on the part and call back; no call back happened. (During the phone call on July 12th, the office staff said they could not call to check the status of the part.) The technician came back out on July 10th, mentioned he would go out to Panama City (where he doesn't live), get the part and call first thing Tuesday morning. When mentioning this to the manager of the company I was told that would "definitely not happen," essentially saying I'm lying about what a service tech said in our home and that we are not going to argue over semantics. In the beginning of the conversation with the manager, I did mention that I am not trying to jump through hoops or go above anyone's (the office manager's) head. I am trying to get a timeline on when this on-going issue would be fixed. Towards the end of the conversation I was made out to be lying and arguing. Customer service isn't a priory of this office staff. A timeline of when an issue will be fixed will be unavailable to anyone with a part that needed to be ordered, as they are "at the mercy of their supplier" in Tallahassee. Update July 14: Due to my not calling and changing vendors myself (as suggested in comments and messages), the company has lied to the insurance company about the damage to the pan, therefore the claim has been denied. Additionally, the owner of the company sent me a private message, again insinuating I am a liar of the events that took place (this is commented below). He mentioned the part is in Oklahoma but when on the phone (and in comments) he said it was in Tallahassee or on the truck. Once the claim was denied it was suggested we call the office for a "retail" quote, knowing we're unhappy customers in the first place. I work with customers every day and I would never handle a situation like this in this way. Extremely unprofessional. If complaints are made and dealing with a home warranty service call, the company will lie about the situation and get the claim denied instead of following through with getting the job completed correctly. Instead of attempting to resolve the issue the company remains unprofessional and dishonest. Update July 25: The air conditioning pan was never cracked, although this company said it was and we got the run around. Instead, the coils needed cleaned to make the running stop. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE as the issue was never going to be resolved with a new pan, lying to a warranty company to get out of completing the job like a professional, arguing on Facebook instead of handling the issue with professionalism, and not actually knowing what the source of the issue was. Update October 3: Placed a BBB complaint after this experience; the case was closed due to no communication.

For me, it's free because I joined one of their protection plans, but the service call itself is $79. They're an A, excellent in everything. I would highly recommend them. They respond very quickly. They explain things well. The workers are very professional, very helpful. They explain thoroughly what's going on. They give you fair estimates of the repair in advance. They're very clean when they do their work. They don't leave any mess behind or anything like that. They wear protective clothing when they come in on their shoes so they don't track crap in your house.

They take care of all of our electric and our air conditioning. In a matter of fact on Kirkwood Run we put in a whole house generator in and they are the company we used for. He believes in doing things one way and it's by the book. There's no "opps my grandfather taught me this 20 years ago or some such junk like that. I've had somebody come down and do some work for us on another project that we had , as a one time deal and i told him when you get through with this I'm going to have my electrician come down and take a look at it. They had done something that was really against code. My electricians said "I'm not going to touch this. You get the city people and the power people to come down and look at this first. After they look at it, then I'll fix it." So he's another one down there I trust. If I don't trust ya you're not going to work for me. They had to replace something in the air conditioner. They come out twice a year and do the checkups. The price is very fair.

I've been using them extensively over the last several years. They're friendly, courteous, respectful, and they certainly do their best to satisfy you. At one time I was dissatisfied with a project that didn't go as I expected. After I spoke with the regional manager, however, everything was straightened out and they even returned the portion of payment that I requested. I have been very satisfied with their service since, they are very timely and I recommend t hem highly.

Crew was scheduled for 9:00am. Did not show till 3:00pm. Company did call to inform me of delays. Crew scratched the unit in several places during installation. One worker almost dropped AC unit from truck trying to remove it by himself. Way to big for one person to handle. This is how it got damaged along with tools being thrown on top during installation. There were at least 10 scratches, some to the metal. Company did return with touch up paint. I'm happy with the unit and price, cools great. Install crew needs to be more professional and treat equipment as their own.

Excellent experience with Waylon! He quickly gave me a quote with 3 different options, offered financing, and set up a day that week to come complete the work. He and his crew removed my old system and installed the new system in about 3 hours. Outstanding service and experience with this company. Thanks Waylon!
