    Bendowski, Dr. Thomas F.
He is the most fantastic doctor I've ever had. He's the only doctor that I've ever met in Florida that is worth anything. He is a good caring person. He is the only doctor in the office and he is the best. He has quite a practice and he started the practice right out of the Army. All of the people at the hospital and all of his patients love him. He even called me in Illinois; he is that kind of person. When he does his surgeries, he himself, calls the next day to see how I am doing. He is a people person. He is very caring. He doesn't just bang bang and get out of the way. He will call me back when I call him. His staff is very friendly and they don't make me just sit and wait ever. The office is very clean and very well decorated. The therapist he sent me to was very good. I will most definitely continue to see him.

    Petrella, Dr. Andrew J.
Hurt my leg.  My regular practitioner suggested an orthopedic doctor. Saw Dr. Petrella. Sent for MRI. During subsequent appointment, he  explained what the MRI showed. I asked for an appointment for surgery, and had it 2/1/2013.   I am recovering, but the awful pain is gone!

    Loeffler, Dr. Robert D.
Dr. Robert Loeffler and his assistant is Dr. Mark Morishige they are both excellent. They are partners. They work in the same office. He does not really need anymore publicity because he is extremely well know in Key West than in the Key East. He recently brought in his partner. My husband has had a several surgeries a couple of months ago. I have been using Dr. Loeffler for 15 years. Dr. Morishige is more recent because he is new to the practice, but it is one office. They are highly educated in the lasted techniques, technologies of surgery and they have excellent results.

    Harrell, Dr. Donald P
My first visit was quite telling. Only a short wait to see Dr. Harrell. He started with my history of this problem then he manipulated the knee and had an idea it was a Meniscus problem but couldn't be sure without an MRI. WhichI got a few days later and got an appointment for the following day. The MRI concurred that my Meniscus was indeed torn and would need to be cleaned up. The following week I had Arthroscopic Surgery to repair the knee. Rehab was less than a week of mild to moderate leg exercises. That was over a year ago and the pain hasn't come back. My hats off to Doctor Harrell and his extremely competent staff. Probably the best experience I ever had with a surgery.

    Orthopaedic Institute
The results of the surgery were excellent, and I appeared to be healing very well. However, about five weeks after the surgery, I slipped while getting up from my sofa, fell backwards, and instinctively put out my left arm to break my fall. I've had a continuing problem with pain and limited range of motion in my left arm since then, and I'm quite certain I either tore something that was healing, or did some kind of new damage. I was unable to immediately get back to Dr. Ellis or Michael because I was hospitalized for eight days, and in and out of the ER, on unrelated medical problems. I saw Michael last Monday, an he gave me some new exercises to start, and an order for Physical Therapy. I attempted to do the new exercises, but it was too painful to continue them. I am currently waiting to hear from Dr. Ellis' office about going for another MRI to see, in detail, any damage that resulted from my fall. After that's done, we will discuss any additional surgery that is required. Prior to my shoulder problem, I've seen Dr. Ellis, or sometimes Michael, for injections into both my knees because I have torn cartilege and osteoarthritis in both of them. I have been having that done for several years, hoping to delay knee replacement surgery for as long as possible. I have received A+ care and treatment from all the medical and administrative staff members I encountered, and would give my unconditional recommendation to anyone with knee or shoulder problems. In addition to my recent dealings with TOI, in May 2008 I had spinal fusion surgery performed by Dr. Trimble, who is also an orthopaedic surgeon on the TOI staff. I would also give him a 100%, unconditional recommendation.

My husband had seen them for his lower back due to a few military parachute accidents. Everyone from the front desk, assistants and doctor have always been very nice, effecient and very helpful during our visit. He wasn't ready for surgery but needed assistance with medication and any suggestions for pain management. They suggeseted different medications for his use which seem to be helping.

    James Talkington MD
I got an appointment within two days and his staff was very efficient in taking my history.  Dr. Talkington gave me a thorough exam, and explained the diagnosis and treatment plan in detail.  He asked for my input and answered all of my questions.  It's only been a few days but my shoulder is already feeling better.  I would recommend him for orthopedic problems.

The staff was very nice and friendly. The appointment time was perfect for me and the doctor came very promptly and spent the time needed to discuss and go over my care. The Arthroscopy didn't do as well as I had hoped. I still had tremendous pain and couldn't bend my knee properly.  After several months of pain, I decided that I needed to discuss surgery (my last resort). I saw a different Doctor from the Arthroscopy Doctor and he was quite professional.  I had the total knee done in 2013. Since the surgery, I've had anesthesia to see if they could get the knee to bend more. But it didn't work.  My knee buckles and I still have a bit of pain (nothing like before). I cannot bend it past 90 degrees.  A little more than a year after the surgery, I fell from a three step ladder and tore the meniscus in my left knee.  I was obese at the time and the pressure from walking was very painful.  I have since lost 40 pounds and my left knee has bone on bone pain.  I am not sure when or if I will have a total knee done on the left knee!   I really like the Orthopedic institute.   Their professionalism is outstanding.

    The Orthopaedic Institute
Dr. Jaffee has great bedside manner.  He gave cortisone injection of R knee and will do  series of 3 gel injections in L knee, which is more damaged by arthritis.  They scheduled 3 following appointments at offices that are closer to me. Injections are helping.
