  • Two of my family's vehicles blew their transmissions within a few weeks of each other. I first brought my 2008 Ford Focus in for the transmission rebuild. It cost about $1800. After I received the 2008 back, I brought my 2009 in for the rebuild since the 2008 was finished so quickly, that cost about $1900. By the time I got my 2009 back a week later, I already had to bring my 2008 back because the transmission was slipping. When I got my 2009 back, it was even worse than the 2008 as I barely got 5 miles away before the transmission wouldnt shift. I brought both vehicles back to them multiple times, each time riding with them to show them the problem still existed, and each time the shop assuring me it would be fixed right this time. It never was. After getting stranded in my 2009 over 150 miles away because they assured me my cars were fixed right this time, I gave up and traded the 2009 in for a new car and sold the 2008. (By the way, I had to repeatedly argue with the managers to get the cost of the 150 mile tow reimbursed which they finally did reimburse but only because I threatened to sue, ridiculous!) So overall, I was out about $3700 for two vehicles that were never fixed right. Never trust this garage! (I actually submitted this review to angieslist in 2014 when this occurredbut somehow the review posted on a separate listing for this company so I am attempting to submit it again to warn consumers about this awful garage!)

  • These people are a complete SCAM!! Do not bring your vehicle here ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A WOMAN!! BEWARE!! I brought my car here and it was driving, they told me that they would put the car on the computer for a diagnostic test and call me with costs. They called me back and only gave me cost of labor.$495 Told me they would call back with parts costs. Called me that afternoon with a total cost of $1810! I said no thank you i'll pick up my car, then they tell me that they have already taken out my transmission and now the car is inoperable and cannot drive at all. Said i have to either pay the $1810 or they will put my transmission components in boxes and put in my trunk and i have to pay to have it towed from their shop and i have to pay them for the labor in taking the transmission out. I did not authorize these people to tear out my transmission without first giving me a price. My car was driving and now it is inoperable because they tore out my transmission. This was done to me because I am a single woman. They are a misogynistic company preying on women! I was taken advantage of. Had he told me some kind of rough estimate, i could have made an informed decision but they tore out my transmission rendering my car inoperable before even given me any quote other than $495 labor costs! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!! They are taking advantage of single women! I am a victim! Now the car does not drive at all, I have to find another vehicle and they want me to pay for them taking out the transmission and pay for it to be towed away! Unreal! My car was driving before now I'm expected to pay for the tearing my transmission out and making my car inoperable! This is not a reputable business!! Terrible!

  • On Monday I went to the shop to look at my transmission, I met Jefferry who seemed pleasant and he introduced me to the owner The owner then took me into the back shop and explained the extent of the damage to my transmission. I thanked him for his assistance and then went to the office to speak with Jeffery, my first question was how much labor did they already have invested and Jeffery told me that the bill was at 550.00 this equates to about 5.5 hours of work, I myself am a Certified Aircraft Technician and I know from experience that one doesn't need 5.5 hours to remove and inspect a transmission, I mentioned this to Jeffery and he immediately changed his pleasant demeanor and began speaking to me in a rough vulgar manner, I asked her m to please change his tone of voice with me and he began insulting me, he jumped up out of his chair and started to come around the service counter as if he were going to attack me. Fortunately the owner of the shop was standing in his way along with two other employees who restrained Jeffery and took him into the back shop as I heard him screaming vulgarities. I must say that I felt a sort of fear that one should never feel in a business environment. This type of behavior is sociopathic and this employee should never be allowed to service clients The owner finally came to the outer office and we were able to come to an agreement about settling the bill. Due to the intense overreaction and uncontrollable temper that Jeffery displayed I utterly lost any sort of confidence in this shop not to mention feeling threatened in a business establishment for no reason at all by this employee. I can not speak of the quality of work that the shop does but I can say that my experience with them was not at all what I expected from a professional repair shop

  • They lied to us and said it was fixed. The transmission was NOT fixed. They made us drive a car with a faulty transmission that jumped when we drove. Their computer was faulty and didn't detect the issue until a year later. We gave them a clean car and it was filthy the next day.They drove 20 miles on the car which seems unnecessary to check a transmission issue. When I arrived, it took forever to just get acknowledged that I had arrived and they didn't give us a rental car too. Their reasoning was that their transmission guy doesn't work on the weekend, which seems unreasonable.

  • It's never an easy decision knowing you need to have your transmission repaired. In our case, it was that or buy a used vehicle with who knows what issues. After discussing our problem with Marc, he gave me honest straight forward answers, explaining the process involved. He also did a lot of research to track down American made components that would last (not cheap foreign parts that might only last a year or so), saving us over 50% in parts against buying from manufacturer.
    Marc kept me informed every step of the way, always being up front with the reasons why certain things were being done.
    As financially painful as it was on our limited budget, I'm glad we made the decision to go with this company. Our vehicle runs very smoothly again, and I have confidence in the parts and installation. Marc showed me all the components that were changed, and educated me on the inner workings of my transmission.
    If you need transmission work done, or have questions about your transmission, this is the place to go. You will get no games or BS figures, just an honest assessment of what you need and how much it will cost.

  • Our 2007 Ford Expedition EL was vibrating and lunging during acceleration. Our regular, trusted, auto mechanic felt the problem was related to the transmission, and we followed his recommendation to take the car to AA One Transmission. The manager, Alex, provided a free initial diagnosis, which confirmed transmission problems. He explained the repair process in detail and was very accommodating when I asked lots of questions.
    After getting a couple of other estimates, I chose AA One, mainly because I felt they were the most professional, and Alex struck me as trustworthy. After I let Alex know we were going to use him to do the work, he was concerned about us driving the car and doing more damage, so he sent a tow truck out to pick up our car at no additional charge. The process went exactly as Alex described, and he kept me informed at every stage. We got the car back when he had projected we would. He even came to my house to pick me up, since my wife needed our other car and couldn't drop me off.
    His price was competitive, but it's hard to tell if it was ultimately the best price. With transmission work, you can't get an accurate estimate until you pay someone to open up the transmission, and by that time, you are committed to them. This is why integrity and
    professionalism were most important to me. Ultimately, Alex worked with me on the price, providing a significant discount on labor and the extended warranty (3 years). The warranty is also transferable should we sell the car.
    While dropping $3500 on an auto repair is never a pleasant experience, Alex did everything he could to soften the blow. He was courteous, professional, and accommodating. I would definitely use AA One Transmissions in the (hopefully distant) future.

  • That strange was very strange and rude, and unprofessional. I took the car in before I left on vacation and when I returned I found out it still had issues. I would not return or recommend this company.

  • July 19, 2010 - Because the transmission is under warranty, the car is back at Cruise N Cool. They absolutely refuse to commit to a time for completing the work. Add to the costs another $400.00 for a another car rental, and I am approaching $3,300 for a $2,000 repair with no promise of an end to this nightmare.
