I am 1 in 500,000 with a specific form periodic paralysis. It causes total paraplegic paralysis for up to four hours at a time. So rare the disability, the ins comp hired this Dr. Ross to see if it is real. By appointment time, the insurance comp AND SSDI deemed me disabled with the rare, nasty disease. I go anyway. It is genetic, so during the appointment I offered the fact my grandfather had symptoms. He stated they knew about it back in the fifties and implying that my grandfather would have been diagnosed and it is no suggestion of proof to him. All I could think, I was in the hospital for six days, saw 15 different doctors, no diagnosis. No one was even close. Finally, my phenomenal, GP, Dr, Berndt, sent me to Dr. Zaret, Neurologist, after years of symptoms, he nailed it and we are now working on treating it. Dr. Ross suggests they would have diagnosed my grandfather in the fifties? I doubt if he saw a doctor until they put him on his death bed. If Dr. Ross wanted to find the truth, after someone already did the hard work for him, he would have only needed to ask about these irrefutable symptoms that cannot be faked... Bradycardia, nystagmus, no patellar reflex while in attack. I believe he was influenced in favor of the ins. company, who paid him, in the hopes of getting more business. I truly feel sorry for this guy. He seems desperate for business. If I was looking for a Dr., it would be one who could remain objective and work through differential symptoms and not active accounting for diagnosis. I have found Dr. Bruce Zaret to be extremely competent in both diagnosis and treatment. I have been fortunate enough to be treated by him twice now for two completely separate rare issues. I can truly say he has saved my life. His nuAmber is 954-341-1776. This is me while having a mild attack, the medication is working. This video was reviewed by Dr. Ross. What do you think? Would allow me to be responsible for your children? [*** Link removed ***]
