How to Make Kitchen Appliances Last Longer

Appliance Repair reviews in Cooper City

My fridge had been freezing contents on and off over a year. Recently it became worse, almost everything in my fridge was frozen to some degree. Cans of soda on the top shelf would freeze and explode. I put off calling for repair because I was sure it would be too expensive or I would get ripped off. I was about to just buy a new fridge, but decided to give repair a shot. My fridge is only 5 years old and it seemed wasteful to replace it so soon. AAA sent a technician the day after I called them. He spent about 30 minutes investigating the fridge and looking up info on his phone. Finally he came to the conclusion that the mechanism in the fridge that closes off cold air after target temperature is reached was not closing. He quoted me $280 for parts and labor(including the service call). I was happy that the price was so reasonable. I paid $100 up front and he placed the order for the parts. The following week, I was contacted and told the parts had arrived. A technician came out early on the next day and installed the new parts. He showed me the removed part and how the plastic door mechanism had broken. This took less than 15 minutes and the fridge has been working great ever since(waited a few weeks before reviewing).

After discovering a leak beneath by ice maker and that my fridge/freezer was not cooling properly, I called AAA Century Appliance. The repair person came out the same day and was able to diagnose and repair the problem for what I believe was a reasonable price very quickly--well under an hour. I was very satisfied with my experience, and am happy to have an excellent appliance repair company to turn to the next time I have an issue.

Called to have refrigerator repaired as it was not working properly. Company representative came out looked at the refrigerator and said it would be $1750.00 to repair. Ask what was wrong and he replied not working properly and need to replace coil and other things. I asked for a breakdown of cost of parts and labor and he said he can only tell me the total cost. So I asked him to call his office to get the information and he said his office said they will not do that. So I called the office myself and the manager said I do not need to know the breakdown and the price is what it is. I then asked again for the breakdown and he replied, look we are big league here and big league appliance companies do not do that and you do not know what you are doing and do not need to know the breakdown. I decline to proceed with this very unprofessional company.

I think this is the 3rd time I have used this company (once before for a washing machine and once before for this refrigerator). Recently I had noticed water on the floor coming from the refrigerator in our garage which is our 'extra frig'. Richard, the technician, found a small leak in a seal but after checking the cost of the part and labor, we decided that it wasn't worth repairing since it is almost 20 years old. Other things checked out fine and so I only paid the service call price of $19.99! Richard was prompt, courteous, and professional.

First of all we waited on hold for almost an hour until someone finally answered. After that they were very good and sent someone out the same day. It was fixed very rapidly and the technician was very professional. However their prices are outrageous!

I had a washing machine which I think was a Whirlpool. I had the guy come out and it cost me $200 whenever I get it fixed. I went and bought another one. I had them come out and he was not sure what was wrong with it. We put a switch in it and that did not work. He put a solenoid on it and that did not work. He tried something else and that did not work. I spent $200 and it still did not work. I said that is it and I just threw it away. I was not going to waste my time trying to get this thing fixed. The only left would have been the whole computer board and that is about $400. I was not going to pay $600 for something that is going to break again. He was punctual and everything, but he just could not fix it. He did not have the knowledge to fix it, but I think that Gabriel by Whirlpool is very good anyway though. So, it might not have been his fault though.

I typically don't use businesses unless it has been referred by word of mouth but I thought I would try Angie's list as Albers seemed to have decent reviews.
My refrigerator was leakig so I called Albers and the secretary told me they had noone available that day but would send someone out the next Morning and was I available.  I responded that I had to drop kids off at school but I would be there after at 8:15.  She told me that was perfect and  the repairman's name was Scott and he would give me a call prior to his arrival.
The next morning I waited and waited!!
By 1140 there was no phone call and no repairman in the driveway.  I called Albers and spoke with the secretary who put me on hold several times before miraculously Scott was located and would be on his way shortly.  I told her I had an early afternoon appt. and that my understanding of our conversation the day before was that someone would be at my house in the early morning not at noon time.  She became very annoyed with me and told me"it is still morning", and  I should have told her I had an afternoon appt??  Apparently it was my responsibility(the customer) to call in the morning to see where Scott was not the repairman's to touch base with me so I could actually plan my day. Unbelieveable!!
I love these businesses who operate under the guise of "a Family Business" and have absolutely no customer service skills at all within the "family"
I spoke with Dave Albers later in the day who very shortly told me "obviously you think noon time begins at 11:00 AM"! That certainly isn't true Mr Albers and company as I was still on hold with your company at 11:40 AM with no repairman in sight and no call!!  He was Completely unsympathetic and offered no apologies whatsoever, was completely defensive and treated me like I was being unreasonable for actually thinking a morning appt was before 11:59.!!
First review I've written in years about anything but unfortunately that was my experience with this company.  However, if you don't mind waiting all day, being misled, and horrible customer service ... they may be the company for you!!

I was concerned about ice forming on the inside of my freezer door and on the top inside of my freezer.  He told me the gasket was really in good shape and did not need replacing however he used a dryer to soften it a bit he puled it out a bit and told me to put a tiny bit of vasaline on the metal around the freezer. He was excellent and I would call them again in a heartbeat.

The tech, Washington, was very knowledgable and informative.  As promised, he called 30 minutes prior to arrival and was prompt each time he came out. I highly recommend this business. They are honest, fairly priced and very professional
