Medical Specialist reviews in Coconut Grove

My husband had an initial meet and greet with the doctor where she explained her practice and the concierge service provided by her office. He subsequently had a complete physical and signed an annual contract with the doctor's service. Dr. Mason provides 24/7 on call service and same day or next day appointments, along with full e-mail support.

What I really like about Dr. Carpman is that he does actual home visits.  He is bi-lingual in English and Spanish.  He is also very good about answering the phone and returning missed calls.

I feel that I didn't get any benefit from going to see him. I had a lot of questions, I prepared a lot of questions, and also my wife. He didn't answer any of my questions. Secondly, I felt like a number, I went there and felt like he just wanted my money. After the consultation I was in the lobby again, going "what happened?" My wife said that she felt the same way. My wife has a dark spot on her skin and this doctor didn't do anything. We went to another doctor, he prescribed this cream, and they went away. Dr. Padron didn't do anything. He was expensive, and I have a high deductable. He charged me $300. I would recommend not going at all.

Treatment at the Banyan is great because they focus on treating the cause of your symptoms, and not just treating the symptom (like most medications do). This is done by listening to the patient and asking many questions to try to find the reasons for whatever it is that you are feeling.

Since coming to his practice approximately one year ago, we have been very satisfied with Dr. Gomes. He is responsive to our needs, and is very kind and informative in person. His office is well-run and his staff is friendly, and thus far we've had very few problems getting appointments scheduled for convenient times (both my wife and I work full-time). Dr. Gomes takes the time to learn about your medical history and to develop a long-term plan for your general health and prevention. You don't just feel like another patient. He is also available for phone and email consultations, which my wife and I have found very convenient for minor ailments. We both recommend Dr. Gomes readily.

One of my children has relatively severe environmental allergies which can cause him great physical pain throughout the year. As he grows older, the allergies change too. Dr. Lamas has been great about diagnosing and treating his evolving allergy symptoms. She monitors him to ensure current treatment is effective and that any new symptoms of allergic reactions are identified and treated promptly and properly. She has helped us implement ways to reduce allergens exposure at home. Also, she has taught my son to be very proactive in identifying triggers, recognizing the warning signs of allergy attacks, and treating them before they get out of hand. She is a great medical professional and compassionate human-being. Thank you, Dr. Lamas!

She takes walk in patients and you can get same day appointments. She may not have the friendliest bedside manner, but she does get to the point with your help. She doesn't prescribe unnecessary medications. I have seen her three times and I have been very happy with her.

On October 10, 2012, I went to see Dr. Jila Senemar for my annual Woman's exam. While at the office, Senemar recommended that I get my preventive blood tests done during the visit. The nurse (Carrie) advised me that if I had the blood taken at their office there would be a $20 draw fee and she told me I had the option to go directly to Quest Diagnostics if I did not want to pay it. I opted to go to Quest and told Carrie to only request blood panels that would be 100% covered by my insurance. She assured me that it would be and therefore I had the services performed on 12/15/12.Since then, I have received numerous bills for Quest Diagnostics requesting payment for non-covered panels. I have made several attempts (via fax, phone, e-mail, and face-to-face) to get this issue resolved with Fem-Care and have been unsuccessful.FemCare refuses to have any communication with me to resolve this matter.

I was referred to Dr. Lamas by a friend, a very picky friend, so I knew her high recommendation of Dr. Lamas had to have been well earned. Since I was looking for someone to whom I would entrust the health of my child, I would accept no less than a stellar referral. That was three years ago. Three years later and Dr. Lamas is my favorite physician. She is a rare breed, seemingly seeking to understand the mental and physical state of her patients, as well as their personal interests and concerns. She is a treasure. She is thorough in her analysis. She looks beyond her specialty, considering the unique characteristics of her patients and all potential factors contributing to the ailment or complaint. She is generous with her time. She is considerate of her patient's time. We have never had to wait more than ten minutes in her waiting room. She is compassionate, patient, and simply a great physician.
Her staff is courteous. Her office hours are very patient friendly.
Dr. Lamas takes excellent care of my son. His headaches now occur rarely instead of regularly. The only thing more we would want is for her to teach other doctors to follow her example.

It was good. They treated me very well. I think they get reviewed on how they treat us so they are like super super nice and helpful. The rest of it was just standard, doctor's visit and ultrasound. They take you in quickly and they're very nice. I've always received a high quality of care there. You have to make appointments far in advance.
