    Douglas Orr Plumbing, Inc.
Luis was very efficient and systematic at detecting where the leak was. He determined rather quickly where the general area of the leak was. Then, he was extremely patient at searching for the exact location with the sonar leak detector. First he drilled holes on the concrete, outside, where the hose spigot was located. This was to see if the drill bid came up damp. After a while, he cracked a small half circle on the concrete with a chipping hammer and saw the angle of the galvanized pipe entering my house. They then had to chip away at my tile, inside my house, to a depth of about a foot and a half and 20" long. They were extremely careful and methodical as to not break the pipe. Overall, they found it after about five hours of chipping and removing debris. He then placed a temporary clamp. At that point the leak was stopped at about 97% (as he wrote it on the work order). They were very clean and organized, and even cleaned up after themselves. Luis gave me options for my next decision, like re-piping and abandoning old galvanized pipes. I am currently waiting to see what to do.

    Jack's Junk Removal
We called Jack's Junk removal to finish demolition of a coral planter that we tried to do ourselves.  Jack responded quickly and met with my husband within 24 hours of the call.  That was great, I am always willing to pay a premium for quick service.  He came out to the house and agreed to do the work the following day.  Jack's crew arrived on time and did the work requested as well an additional request that came up at the last minute.  They were agreeable, quick and courteous.  They cleaned up after themselves and made themselves available to come back again anytime.  Overall good experience.  Thanks Jack!

    Tinez Construction
All jobs performed have been done in a professional and timely manner by qualified personnel.  In addition, the owner of the company, Ruben, has been present  each time to oversee that the work is done as expected, and to answer any questions we could have.  He has also replied to all my calls, and has even helped on matters not related to jobs performed. We purchased our home in October of 2012, and had one contractor nightmare after the other. Tinez Construction (dba Pro Handyman Solutions) has really been a life saver for us.  They have constantly provided quality service at a reasonable price, always performed by professionals who are respectful, clean, organized, and knowledgeable about the job at hand. They are always on time and ready to work, and always clean up any mess created during the job. I HIGHLY recommend this company, from big renovations to small wall painting jobs, I am very happy with the services provided, and will continue to use them as needed.

Jamie Basilio was extremely courteous, helpful, and professional. He gave us a complete appraisal of what needed to be done and advised us carefully and completely on the pros and cons of several paver options. We chose a beautiful new product that he strongly recommended...and seeing it completed confirmed the validity of his advice. Every step of the arduous Coral Gables permitting and inspection process was handled capably and patiently by Jamie; and every step of the excavation and installation process proceeded smoothly and efficiently. The workmanship of Jamie and his crew is exceptional...our driveway is not only beautiful to look at for the color and pattern of the pavers, but also stands out for the precision of the work. Even the Gables permitting inspector remarked on the high quality of work and stated that "we were lucky to find him for the job." I also want to compliment the politeness and attitude of Jamie and his work crew--a nice bunch of people.
    In conclusion, my wholehearted recommendation.

I'm almost afraid to give another positive review because I'm worried Jaime will get too busy and not be able to do future projects for me.  My wife is looking around the house for more projects just so she can have Jaime and Champion Concrete come and do the work. It's rare when you find a contractor of any kind that meets all your expectations, but Jaime certainly does. This is the second time this year we have had Jaime do work for us and the second time he has exceeded our expectations.  His price was fair and less than the other quote we got.  He was upfront about all the costs and other potential problems we might run into.  We agreed on a price and a date and time.  Jaime showed up 30 minutes EARLY and the job proceeded on time and on budget.  As usual Jaime himself was onsite to manage the job and it wasn't until several hours later when the job was virtually complete did he get called away to another site.  Our job was done perfectly and his workers stayed late to make sure the end result was up to their high standards.   I can't recommend Jaime enough.  Even if you have to wait for him, do it.

It?s not often that I can make an unequivocal recommendation for a company--especially in the construction industry.  However, it is my distinct pleasure to wholeheartedly recommend and endorse Jaime at Champion Concrete. My wife and I had been planning on redoing our back patio area, front porch, and driveway for quite some time and wanted to find a company that was familiar with doing business in Coral Gables.  The Gables have some of the most stringent building and zoning codes and compliance requirements of any municipality.  Too many times contractors run into trouble here and I didn?t want that to cause issues. Our search led us through Angies List and we settled on calling three different  ?A? contractors to get estimates.  My wife really liked the first company that came because they were ?very professional? when they showed up and presented her a brochure with lots of pictures and a detailed estimate.  The other company that came by gave a verbal estimate but wanted $500 (good toward the cost of the project) to do a formal estimate.  Finally, Jaime was going to come by and give us our final estimate.  Unfortunately, Jaime?s schedule was tight and we missed each other a couple of times.  My wife was gung ho to start the project without getting the third estimate, but I was resolute.  Finally Jaime did come by and there was just something special about him that I liked.  He had done business in the Gables, his company is more of a family operation than a large impersonal organization, and he was apologetic upon arrival.
He couldn't have been more sincere in letting us know that his main weakness was in the getting back to potential customers to provide estimates.  The main reason was that he was on-site for all of his jobs and when issues arose he wanted to be there.  Once he takes on a job, he sees it through and if that means he loses some business because he wasn't able to provide an estimate, so be it.  I really liked that commitment to the job at hand rather than a potential one.  IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE ACCURATE.  Jaime was on site during our entire job which was done incredibly fast and incredibly well. Our entire driveway was completely paved in less than a day.  The workers he has with him are not your typical day laborers , but are experienced masons with a terrific attitude and a superb work ethic.  They clean up well after themselves and are consummate gentlemen.  The whole team was like family and I know we will stay in touch.
For those of you that are perfectionists and difficult to work with, do not hesitate to call Jaime. My wife has so much attention to detail that she knows if I've bumped into furniture? even if I've put it back in the same place.  In a couple of places, she found minuscule imperfections in some of the pavers.  I didn't notice them, but she did and it bugged her.  Jaime didn't even hesitate in replacing them, instead he felt bad that he missed it in his inspection.  I doubt he missed it, I think the imperfections showed up after he pressured washed it in preparation for sealing.  Today, after the job was complete; my wife noticed that the driveway didn't smell as strong as the back patio from the sealer and was slightly lighter in color.  When I asked Jaime where I might purchase more sealer to add a third coat to the driveway, he showed up and resealed the whole driveway.  His level of customer service knows no limit.
Our job consisted of approximately 1600 sq feet of pavers for our driveway and back patio with some modifications to raise the level of our patio and re-slope it.  We also had approximately 60 sq feet of tumbled travertine on a front porch that proved to be tricky due to the small area and large tiles that my wife selected.  When Jaime asked me what pattern to use, I felt comfortable in telling him to use what he thought was best.  Jaime treated our house like his own and I knew he would come up with something nice.  It wasn't just nice, but spectacular.  He created an innovative mix between a herringbone and French layout that worked perfectly in the small space.
In terms of the three bids, Jaime was not the least expensive, nor was he the most.  He was very fair and provided incredible value. If you have a concrete, driveway, or masonry need I can?t think of anyone else I would even think of calling. Even if you have to wait for his schedule to open up, DO IT.  He is the best!

    Coral Gables Plumbing Co
If you are looking for a full-service plumber who understands customer service and has high quality standards, look no further. These guys aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. This time I waited a while before posting my review, so I'd know for sure that the results were good, and they are!

I should start at the beginning. On a Sunday night, my toilets back up into the showers. Nice. I worked with another plumber who came out twice, replaced the toilets, but the problem persisted. Then I switched to these guys. Best. Decision. Ever.

A nice, clean, articulate plumber named Mario shows up, spends the WHOLE day trying to get video of my pipes. They were that bad. They had to bring a special machine to flush water through the pipes, the whole bit. Turns out, I had a ridiculous amount of roots in my pipes. Hey, I live in the Grove, it happens. Ever read The Hobbit? He'd have been at home in my pipes!

Over the course of the next week, Mario came back with his helper, and Brandon - the account manager - came over, introduced himself, and stayed involved through the whole process. Sherie at the office was amazing, also staying involved. They ended up having to dig up the driveway, rip out the old pipes and put new pipes in. They took care of all of the permits, they patched the driveway, they even talked to my insurance adjustor. Heck, I didn't even have to be home for the inspection.

When the job got done - maybe a day or two later? - I got this little sinkhole at the end of my driveway. I called Brandon, he dropped everything and came right over. Sherie ran everything from the office, calling the City, etc. In the end, it was just dumb luck that it happened at the same time. The hole was unrelated to the plumbing, and the City of Miami fixed it in no time flat. But the reason I bring it up is that AT NO TIME did Coral Gables Plumbing try to brush me off or tell me it wasn't their concern. They stayed involved the whole time.

They are a family run business, according to their website, but what really stood out for me was that they made ME feel like family. I can't imagine hiring any other company ever again for plumbing. In fact, I have two bathrooms on my remodeling list for this house... guess who I'm gonna call? Maybe I could find someone to do the work cheaper, but I want to know that the work was done right.

If you want to sleep at night knowing that you've had QUALITY plumbing work done, hire these guys. It's been two months since the work was done, and I'm here to tell you... still thrilled.
