I had as usual an amazing experience. My Uncle was an eye Doctor, and I remember it being similar to the drivers tag office. They had long waits, and was short on staffing.

At Dr. Toppino's office, I can always count on getting in and out quickly, and continue with my day. I actually look forward to going. Everyone there is upbeat and helpful! I recommend this office to all my friends and family!!

As you can imagine it was a bit traumatic but Dr. Toppino made me feel relaxed and calm while at the same time informing me on how to avoid it happening again. I had a great experience and recommend her office whenever asked or even if it comes up in general conversation.

We love going to Dr. Toppino's office. Her staff is very friendly. They always remember my name and ask about the kids (if they aren't with me). When the kids are with me, they always ask them about school and their activities.  My kids like that her office has a little game nook for while they wait. I had taken the kids to a different doctor when they were younger, and the staff was not patient at all with them (especially when the kids screamed when getting their eyes dialated).  Dr. Toppino and her staff are extremely patient, and they treat my children with respect.  They talk them through every part of the visit, and my kids have gone from being afraid of going to the eye dr to enjoying the visit. They think Dr. Toppino is really nice. My daughter loves the women who help her pick out her glasses.
About a year and a half ago, on my normal visit, the Dr found a medical problem. She explained everything for me (sounded scary but by the time I left I wasn't afraid) and she referred me to a neurologist, and then she followed up with me personally. Now, I see her every six months.
Dr. Toppino really cares about her patients, and every time we see her I feel like my family is in great hands.

We did not have to wait long in the lobby before being placed in a room. The tech was very good with my daughter. The doctor came soon after the tech was finished to do her exam. She was very thorough with the exam and explaining what she was doing and what the results were.

I was greeted promptly.  The staff is friendly and professional.  Moving through the "steps" (paperwork, eye check, ordering glasses) was fluid.  Staff was able to answer any questions.

Dr. Toppino and the staff are amazing.  They always make sure to take the time to make sure all my needs are met.  They also provide extra special care in assisting my son who has special needs at his visits.  They handle him in a very sensitive manner that makes his eye experience a very pleasant one.  I would highly recommend Dr. Toppino for both adults and children.

I've found he and his staff to be extremely professional.  I have seen several other doctors for the same condition and they were rude, abrupt and unknowledgeable.   Dr. Auerbach and his staff are a 180 and one of the few medical offices that my blood pressure doesn't rise just thinking about them.  I highly recommend them.

I went in as soon as they opened and they saw me within a half  an hour.  I have been seeing them for at least ten years.  Staff is always nice and helpful.  The the waiting room is nice.  I have never had to wait more then five minutes.

Everyone there was great! They were very patient with my father. Dr Pennachio carefully explained issues and answered questions very thoroughly and in a way that we both could understand. The doctor did not want to rush into surgery the way the doctors at Magruder Eye institute wanted to do. He thought it was best to monitor the problem for a while and see if surgery could be avoided.
The Tech that checked his prescription was wonderful. I feel bad that I cannot remember his name at this moment. I know that one of the things that annoys me the most is when the techs rush you to decide if lens #1 or lens #2 is better and on and on. They want fast answers without giving you time to focus. He went very slowly and gave my father plenty of time to look back and forth and decide which lens was the best. He took all the time we needed and made sure the job was done right.
Dad has always had a problem seeing clearly with one eye that had been injured years ago. He told me the prescription he received this time gave him the best vision in that eye that he can ever remember having.

Let me start with some background. The opthalmologist I had seen for years and really liked, had to retire for medical reasons. The doctor that took over his patients also retired a couple of years later. A coworker had been to Magruder and was satisfied with them so I decided to give them a try.
You always have to wait past your appointment time in the lobby. I suppose that is standard for most doctors these days.
The first stop is the optician that checks your current eyeglass prescription and then they check for changes to your prescription using the apparatus that you look thru while they flip various lenses back and forth to find the best fit. I ALWAYS feel rushed at this step. They want a fast answer whether lens 1 or lens 2 was better. Sometimes there isn't much difference I and I want to see them a few times before deciding. I can tell they are not happy with that. However, I have learned over the years that if I don't make them slow down and give me time to think, I end up with a Rx that is not as clear as it should be. That leads to revisits and changes to Rx and glasses.
Next they put drops in your eyes to dialate your pupils and you sit an another room while that takes effect. Standard for all eye docs I've been to.
After being taken to the final exam room you wait a little longer. Can be 5 to 25 minutes.
The doctor does a thorough check of my eyes and discusses any issues he may have noticed. What I have noticed is that since the recession hit, these doctors must have had a huge drop in the numbers of surgeries people have elected to do. For a few years now he has told me that he sees the beginnings of cataracts in my eyes. Initially (before the recession) he told me that once I notice my vision being affected by them we could do surgery. This last exam he told me he saw cataracts and wanted to know when I wanted to schedule surgery. Not, and quot;do you want to do surgery yet?and quot; I was SHOCKED! I told him they are not affecting my sight yet so I will NOT do surgery when it isn't necessary.
About a month later I took my 90 year old father to a different doctor at the same practice and he was trying to rush him into surgery for something that was also optional at the time.
I am no longer comfortable that I am getting objective advice from the doctors at this practice. They obviously have seen surgery revenues decline (a huge money maker for them) so they are really pushing that on the patients now. I am going to look for a new doctor.
