    Amazing - I spoke with Kevin, the owner, and explained my needs. He directed me to a "recumbent elliptical", which I had never heard of. It suited my needs perfectly, at a very fair price. The follow up contact from Kevin was terrific. I would strongly recommend them to anyone with fitness equipment needs - top flight in all respects.

    I signed up with them. I have been in seven times, had some consultations, and three personal training's. Somethings were said that were inappropriate. I do like the facility, the management, or the people that work there. I just joined because, I needed to work out. I showed up four times for personal training and the trainers weren't there. The one female was good and the other guys were the worst. It was all about making money, they don't care about the client, and closing the deal. They weren't sincere. I like the one on one and someone standing there telling me what to do. The trainers are ill equipped and act like they don't know anything. I don't like paying them because I don't go. Administration sucks.

    It's okay. It's not the best. The classes could be a little better. Their pricing is competitive. I've been to other classes that I just think are better. I go there because it's more convenient than going to St. Petersburg.

    Anytime Fitness
    The Center itself is small, clean, and open 24, which was what I was looking for.  I received a free trainer session.  I took advantage of this.  I signed up for 3 more months of training at $140.00  The Trainer informed me that it would only be 3 months.  I would then have to sign again if I wanted to continue.  He explained that this was better than getting the auto-renew stopped.  This should have been my warning.  Sadly, I did not listen and signed up.  Well after the 3rd month I asked the trainer to make sure I would not be charged.  Said I would not.  After the 4th month charged, He told me he adjusted it and that I could not get a refund but I would still get training sessions.  After the 5th month charged, yes another $140.00  He sent messages to the manager.  I took it upon myselft to cancel my credit card becase at this point I had no faith and cannot afford another $140.00 dollar mistake.  I still to this date, get the run around.  They say they need proof, but the trainer did all the paperwork so I have no proof of cancellation.  This is no way to do business.  The trainer actually agrees that he turned off the auto pay, but management still will not refund my money.  BEWARE!  Do not join Any Anytime Fitness.  It was an expensive lession  Please don't make the same mistake.  Again Do Not Join Anytime Fitness.

    Shapes - Seminole

    I joined "Shapes" in 2013 and shortly thereafter they closed. They wanted me to go to a gym miles away but it was not convenient. Since I signed a contract that expired on 11-16-14, I had to continue to pay as they threatened me with collection.

    Fast forward to November 2014. I receive calls asking if I want to renew with "Elements" who bought out "Shapes" contracts. I told them no. I was then advised that perhaps my contract expired on 11-16-14, but my MAINTENANCE FEE was due 11-15-14. Since I was still under contract for one more day, it was either pay the maintenance fee or it will go to collection. I asked to talk with the owner however they refused to even give me a name.

    I would absolutely stay away.

    The Long Center
    It is like a community center. You pay membership but it's associated with the city of Clear Water. They have a 50 meter pool which is generally not very full. I used to be a competitive swimmer so it's a great pool. Generally, the staff are just ordinary employees, nothing really stands out and I can't really complain about them. They have a great waiting room and gym facility which is always accessible also with aerobics equipment and plenty of weight machines. I guess I really like it because it is really available, it's not like those places you go to and it's so full you can't even work out. I'd probably complain about cleanliness in the locker rooms, I don't think it's super clean. The shower equipment and stuff is old and doesn't function really well. They provide such a great service but they are not open on Sundays. They personally do not provide trainers.

    He is good. We like him. He seems really very knowledgeable and he seems to take time with patients without making it too long of a time. He just seems effective with that. I think it is particularly those combinations. I just think he has a lot of general knowledge. He has treated patients for many years. He is in a great location in general, because he is like right by Morton Plant Hospital.

    The price varies. We have gone there and use equipment and weights for exercise. I like that there are many machines. So, you always get an option there. It is never fully loaded with people. It is very clean. The people are nice. The trainers seem to know what they are doing. It is very good and it is affiliated with a hospital. They have an area where they treat people who had problems like heart attack.

    They are very clean. They have great classes. The staff is wonderful. The classes are good. They have a lot of equipment. They do rehab for folks that have special medical problems. They are just really good.

    Shapes Total Fitness for Women
    My wife entered into a 2-year contract with Shapes Total Fitness on 11-March 2011 with a contract completion date of 11-March 2013. Upon completion of the contract, she sent written notice of cancellation to the Largo Office, along with her membership card, per the signed contract. The letter was sent on 26-March 2013. OOA April 16, I noticed another membership fee charged to our account. I phoned the Shapes office, and was told that they did receive the cancellation letter, but since it arrived less than 30 days prior to the next billing date, we were required to pay for April, but that this would be the last charge we would receive. I said that that was fine, since it was in the contract. On 15 May I noticed another membership charge on my account, which was labeled as You Fit. I made numerous calls to Shapes and You Fit gyms to find out what was going on. I discovered that our Shapes membership was transferred to You Fit (which we were never notified of). I was was directed to the Shapes Office in Palm Harbor. The representative at Palm Harbor told me that she received our cancellation notice on 01 April, but did not honor it because they were going to be transferring accounts, which happened on 30 April (no phone call to us to explain the situation). In addition, the Shapes rep told me that I had to work out my dispute with You Fit, and that I now needed to provide 60-days notice to cancel per my new contract with You Fit (which we never signed). I spoke with You Fit, and they stated that they would honor my cancellation with Shapes with a written notice from Shapes. However, Shapes has said that my wife's account has been deleted, so they will no longer work with us. Sounds like a couple breaches of contract. I am working with my bank to dispute the charges, and will be filing several complaints. Shapes really dropped the ball on this one.
