AService man at Hobo was experienced and knowledgeable enough to advise what part I needed. Greensouth John Deere in Gainesville were nice and they tried, but they did not know the ins and outs of my model of tractor, so they wanted me to haul it in. Hobo guessed immediately what might be wrong, as they said it is a common problem with my tractor model, and advised trying the electronic part. They saved me hundred of dollars by avoiding hauling my tractor to the John Deere Service place in Gainesville.
I highly recommend Hobo Tractor as they really seem to know all about tractors, more than the specialists at the John Deere place in Gainesville. The defective part was an electronic relay located near the thermostat which automatically shuts off the ingnition to the fuel pump if it senses that the engine is overheating. We knew it was an electrical problem and replaced fuses and relays, and took the switch off to Green South, who checked it out for free, and found it OK. Hobo knew that this relay often fails on my tractor model. Thiis another example of making things overly complicated, just more things to go wrong, and it did in this case. I did not even know it had this relay, as the older tractors do not.Reviewed by Jim T.

A1st WorksThey picked up my tractor for $5 pickup fee and totally fixed my tractor. It took about 2 weeks to complete the repairs at a cost of $100. Then they delivered it back to me for another $5. Since then, I had several other repairs done on other equipment. Since this area is mostly ranching/farming, it is to be expected for work to be a bit longer to get done. 1st works exceeded my expectations and has a friendly and knowledgeable staff.- kenneth c.

ATri County Small Engine RepairJeff picked up my pressure washer and hour after I called. He called me back within 2 hrs to tell me what was wrong. However he indicated that the cost to repair it may not be justified. He asked if he could hold onto the unit for a few days to see if he could figure a cheaper way. He called back a few days later with it repaired indicating that another unit came in that he could scavenge parts from. He tested my new parts and installed it and delivered to my door for a reasonable price. I also asked him if he knew of a good bicycle shop for repairs. He took my bike to his job and worked on it for free. I would definitely recommend him- Susan D.

ASt Johns Sales & ServiceBill's estimate of the service compared to actual cost turned out to be cheaper than thought after he had my lawn mower in the shop and saw he could repair rather than replace some things. His pick up/delivery fee is cheaper than anyone in the area. I was completely shocked at how cheap it was; one Major company told me I needed over $500 worth of repair, another to buy another new lawn mower. Bill fixed it for a fraction of the cost of a new one and more than $300 cheaper than Sears! I liked their services so much I now have my other lawn equipment with them and am taking my vacuum this week! I cannot gush enough about how great their services are! I do know that from now on every year they will be doing my annual tune ups on my equipment!- Veronica W.

D1st Worksafter taking my weed eater up there they told me it would cost 25 dollars to install a new throttle cable and take 4 days to complete. here it is 3 weeks later and still no weed eater and now all i get is excusses after excusses on why its takeing so long. i would not recomend them to look at another small engine- michael w.
