    Southeastern Dermatology Pa

I have had mixed experiences with them. The lady at the front desk is NOT make you feel welcomed, she is rude and if you have a balance, she will announce it to the entire office she states it so loudly its embarrassing. She doesn't smile and is not friendly.  She should not be the first face a patient sees when arriving, as she certainly never put me at ease or made me feel welcomed.

The skin cancer check over was fast, and I felt like it wasn't very thorough, but I have nothing to compare it to.  I pointed out my areas that were of concern to me (areas they didn't see during the exam) I know to be proactive in my own health care.

The surgery was NOT done by Dr. Ford but by the physicians assistant who was wonderful, kind caring and did an excellent job  which the nurse told me he was excellent in stitching & this was on my face.  The surgery did go well, and I have a minimal scar.  That was a good experience, considering it was surgery.  The physicians assts. seem to be more involved when they are there with the patient.  The other visits with the dr. were brief, under 10 minutes depending on which doctor did the exam, each exam was a little different, one dr. looked between my toes, and another doctor didn't even check my feet or my scalp.

I had them remove any growths or moles that I noticed and didn't like, and they always removed them and sent everything they cut off  for biopsy, which I think was good, except once the cut off a mosquito bite, and I saw the biopsy result in technical terms that it was a bug bite.

Consistently, the worst part of every visit was the interaction I had with the front desk.  I dreaded check in, When I checked in for my appt.  her first words were you have a balance of $45, no smile, no hello.   The other issue was with the insurance biller, my insurance covers an annual well checkup & skin cancer exam.  But, I have been billed for it every year, I told the billing department, and she said they didn't have a code for a well check up, I told her my insurance should pay 100% but it never happened, and she wasn't nice or helpful, I felt like as far as she was concerned, she had done her part in filing, and I had to do my part in paying.  Period.

When My husband went in for his annual well check up, it was the first time he had ever had one...and only went because I insisted and told him our insurance would cover it, the doctor came into the room and my husband asked the doctor about some skin tags that he had on his neck, what would it cost to remove them...the doctor said a few hundred dollars and your insurance won't cover it, so you can do it yourself, just tie them off and they will fall off.  Then he left the room, that was it!!!!!!  My husband never got his skin cancer screening...apparently the doctor didn't even know that was what his appt. was for.  My husband left the office feeling very  uncomfortable.  And then we got the bill for over $200, I don't recall the exact amount, but I was sick to my stomach.  I called the office and told them what happened and said no way am I going to pay a bill, why would you bill me for that???? The result of that was she continued to  call my husband back and said we would be sent to the collection agency if we didn't pay, so eventually I just paid the bill.  I don't know why I ever went back to them, I suppose I just didn't want to have to start over with a new doctor, and I knew these doctors were competent at the least, even if they were rushed and seemed to care more about the patients wallet than the patient.  This year I am going to check Angies list and use this as my reference.  I just signed up today, and that is why I am only now writing this review.  Now I am going to find a dermatologist with an A rating.

While I have used Dermatology Associates for many years this was my first exposure to Dr. Harris Green. I elected to have MOHS Surgery due to the grate success rate. Dr. Green was highly recommended. The recommendation was justified. Surgery began on time and was successful. Dr. Green is friendly and very professional. I would not hesitate to use him again.

    Low, Dr. Gordon J

The PA was thorough in her examination of my entire skin, including my scalp, and did not seem rushed as many doctors. She was very helpful and asked questions to ascertain how I protect my skin on a daily basis. Even commenting similarities in her own routine. She prescribed Diclofenac Sodium gel 0.03% for some pre-cancerous spots on my face and suggested other places to use it. It is quite a large tube and should last awhile. The gel is to be used 2X daily for 3 months, so it is too soon to tell how effective it is, although the spots I have been putting it on are NOT getting worse, or turning red, brown and ugly, like some meds will do. I will ask for her again next year.

Sherman Walkin Center & Skin Clinic
The staff was friendly and efficient. The wait time was less than 15 minutes.
The doctor was professional and knowledgable but also personable.
He removed a melia from my face and froze a sun damaged area. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. Both areas have healed very well.
I would recommend Dr. Sherman to others and plan to go back there myself.

    Soni, Dr. Bob P.
I have been going to see Dr. Bob Soni at Dermatology Associates for the past seven or more years. Each time I have been there at my scheduled appointment time, the waiting room is about full and I have to wait anywhere from a hour an half to more than two hours before I get in to start my exam. Even scheduling an early morning appointment does not help cut my waiting time. It is obvious that he is overbooking his time slots to maximize the number of patients that can be seen in a day. I don't mind waiting an extra 20 minutes or so and understand that he might have to take more time with a patient, but it is obvious that this backlog is deliberate with the overbooking of patients. This shows little or no respect to his patients and their valuable time. Remember, we have lives too. One can only conclude that Dr. Soni and/or Dermatology Associates value making a buck more than anything else and don't mind that their patients have unusally long wait times.

    Yoon, Dr. Jessica
Moles fine and biopsy came back negative but with suggestion to cut further. Sent me to plastic surgeon and area was cut further and sent in for biopsy. Thr result of biopsy was negative, but Doctor Yoon wanted to freeze area. I went to another dermatologist for second opinion and his opinion was that no further treatment was necessary.

    Yoon, Dr. Jessica
Dr. Yoon did a whole-body check and found several pre-cancerous spots I never suspected. Dr. Yoon prescribed medication and the spots cleared up. During a recheck, I was told to come back in 12 months or sooner if any problems arose. I have an appointment for an annual checkup next month.

    Yoon, Dr. Jessica
The receptionist was very polite when I called to make an appointment. Dr. Yoon was booked until late August but there had been a cancellation, so the receptionist was able to squeeze me in the same week. When I arrived the waiting room was packed, but it was large enough to hold everyone comfortably. I had to wait 30 minutes past my appointment time, but that was the only negative part of my experience. Dr. Yoon was very easy to talk to, patient, thorough, gentle and kind. Her nurse was great also. I had a couple dark spots on my legs and Dr. Yoon explained that they were scarring and why the scars looked that way, which no other dermatologist had ever done. She seemed really knowledgeable, but never condescending or impatient.

    Pamela S. Kennedy, MD, P.A.
I actually saw one of Dr. Kennedy's PA's and was very pleased with her professional service and treatment. I was given good information prior to the appointment about needed paperwork and after completing the forms, I was seen within 10 minutes.
As of today, my scar is healing nicely and appears to be free of infection.

    Low, Dr. Gordon J
Dr. Low gives a complete body scan looking for any signs of possible problems. He does not rush in and out, takes whatever
time you need to feel comfortable with his exam. Each year he reminds you of the signs to look for and tells you to call him if you have any concerns whatsoever. If you call his nurse will talk with you and within a few days you will be seeing the doctor. His office is very efficient, friendly, and pretty much on time. If you have to wait it will be a short wait. You can have total confidence in this Dr.
