    They are still doing work, very little. The owner and the Forman rarely answer calls, or texts or even emails. There is work that can be done while waiting on the last supplemental to come in. The insulation that molded, the sliding glass door, the carpet in one room. But no, nothing and it almost May. The hurricane was October 10th. Stay away from this company! We still need siding, soffit and 2 windows, as well as the things I already mentioned. Only the shingles on the roof have been done. Tired of waiting for them to finish to leave a review. Just thought I���d save a few people.

    Capitol City Remodeling LLC
    Most went well until the flooring was installed. I was assured that he ���wrote the manual��� on how to install the floor. After having to tear up flooring where gaps were showing, they finished the job. Now there are over a hundred of permanent, cured glue fingerprints and a glue shoe print on the new flooring. Capitol City has stopped responding to questions on whether they will remove the glue prints or even how to remove the glue prints. They left a bottle of glue cleaner that doesn���t remove the glue they used. The instructions for laying the floor indicated blue painters tabe was to be used to help hold flooring together while the glue dried. They used masking tape which left strips of tape residue which I am still finding. The ceiling replacement in the bathroom and ceiling patch in the dining room went well but the texuring had to be done twice. The crew managers left the ceiling workers without ensuring they had the tools to do the job properly. So, the texturing had to be done twice. But once it was done it looks fine. Chimney pipe and cap: After finding that the chimney pipe found in my yard after the storm was not to my chimney and did not fit, Capitol City stated they would have a new pipe made to fit. After several delays and missed install dates, their carpenter, John, showed up with the new chimney cap and old pipe. The chimney cap was obviously installed on the wrong end of the pipe. (yes, same pipe we proved was debris from someone else���s house). I asked John about it and he tols me he had never worked on chimneys before and was just doing the best he could. Please note I have no complaints concerning John. His carpentry work was excellent. My complaint concerning the chimney cap is that Capitol City shoe-horned an ill fitting pipe into place after promising to have a new pipe created. Communication: Very poor. Many times I was told they would be here at a certain time and they would be late or not show up at all. They rarely communicated with updated times unless I reached out to them. I addressed this with them and communication would improve briefly then revert to the same pattern.     Bid was done fairly quickly on 5/1/2015, but did not hear back from contractor until 
    5/18/2015 with bid. Stating that he had not heard back from me that he had sent an email
    previously. After reviewing emails including Spam no email found.
    So needless to say I chose a different provider.

    Sykes Ceramic Tile Inc.
    David Sykes was supposed to do a bathroom remodel for us.  This included removing the existing shower, removing all the bathroom tile, removing the toilet, and finding someone to install a pocket door.
    Mr. Sykes was prompt in returning our phone calls and showed up on time to give us an estimate.  He was recommended by Panama City Tile.  He sent the measurements to Panama City Tile and everything was ordered.  The Monday before he was due to start (start date was Wednesday, April 3rd)  I called him and requested a written estimate, because he had not given me anything in writing.  He asked if he could provide the estimate the morning he was supposed to start work.  I requested it by Monday night.  On Tuesday I called to find out if he had someone to do the pocket door.  He texted me and told me that he did not have anyone to do the pocket door and that he could no longer do our job.  He provided no explanation, no offer to reschedule the job, and that was it.  We were left out in the cold with materials he had measured for and ordered.
    That Saturday we picked up all our materials and luckily over the weekend found a reputable contractor in town who did an outstanding job.
    About the material.  Once our remodel job was done we were left with exactly twice as much wall tile as we needed.  Which added any extra $512 to my expenses.  The "foot rest" he ordered ending up being a 2 foot bench, which is 3 times the size of what we requested for our shower.  He underestimated the trim pieces by 8 feet, so that was another added expense.  If I return the extra wall tile and oversized, Panama City Tile charges a 30% return fee + shipping charges to send it back.  So not only did he leave us without a contractor the day before the start of the job, but caused me to incur an extra $600 in expenses for materials.

    The job was poorly done. The floor was not properly sealed to prevent water from seeping in, and now the entire floor has to be replaced. US Installation Group sent a workman a week and a half ago who removed most of the flooring, so now we are walking on bare concrete. This was done with the promise that in three to four days, we would schedule a day and time for the replacement floor to be installed. We have not been contacted. My wife and I have left messages with no return calls made. I feel we have been deliberately lied to, at worst, or are the victims of a terrible inept company, at best. Either way, I would never do business with this company again. I will hold them to the warranty in order to get my floor replaced, but with their inefficiency and poor business practices, I will no doubt have to go to great lengths, perhaps legal ones, to see it done.

    We got a decent price on it. Home Depot was ok to deal with. They have a company that you pay them to measure. They tell Home Depot the measurements and what you need and all that kind of stuff. I was not pleased with them and that is why I put the flooring down my self. Home Depot had a deal for $400 they would install flooring in your entire house. That was a good deal bit I just didn't like the way the guy came out and measured. They called me every three days to see if I picked up the flooring. It was a pain in the neck so I just put it down my self. There were too many people to deal with for the installation. It is a big hassle.

    He did a good job with the work he completed. He does hire sub contractors for some jobs. I had a wall taken out and framed and a wood floor put in. This opened my dining room into my living room. It looks awesome. I also had new carpeting installed in my entire home also. I am very pleased with the work.

    We had issues when they laid the carpet down. There were some circles or spots that kept showing up. There were swirls in the carpet and we asked them about it. They came out and looked at it. The guy tried to brush the swirls out. I said okay and asked them to go ahead and do it. We waited for about 20 minutes and they came right back. So, they came back and reinstalled the carpet. It was in the hallway and it happened again.  Then the owner came out and he told us that he couldn’t help us. He basically told us that we were nasty people. He said that there is nothing he can do if we can’t take care of the carpets. So, I told him to get out of my house. It took forever to get them to come out. When we initially got the carpet put in, we had gutted the whole inside of the house. I did most of the work myself. When it was ready for carpeting, I told them to come put the carpet on. We were living in another house; so there was nothing in this house. One of the guys used the toilet in the back and he flushed a piece of t-shirt down my toilet. That’s why I got involved with a plumbing company. The plumbing company ran a snake through the line and pulled a piece of t-shirt because of which the toilet had clogged. I know it was them. My wife had come in and she used the toilet, but it flooded the whole room. We had just had the carpet put down. I argued with the guy and he wasn’t going to replace the carpet. They cleaned it themselves and they dried it. I don’t remember the price for their services, but it was a lot of money. It wasn’t cheap and their service was terrible. I will never ever use them again even if they are the last carpet people on earth.
