AGibson's Grading And ConstructionDave came out to look at the property and the problems and I could see the thinking wheels in his head starting to roll with possibilities. He had evolving ideas that ended up taking care of both the engineering needs of the settling house and the aesthetic needs of its owners. He solved the problem with both lumber and stone as well as his handy Bobcat and amiable Dad. . . Dave is a "rock whisperer" and knows just how to place stone to suit the right spot; not only creating a strong retaining wall, planter base and stairway upward but making it a functional rock sculpture the envy of any mountain side. As the repairs to the foundation and stairway upward looked so amazing it was impossible to allow him to stop work there-we then added walkway and step to the side door, a backyard retaining wall and planter, rework of our driveway and parking area and a resloping of an impossible to walk up hill rise. Dave is reliable, fun and a pleasure to work with and we recommend his services wholehardedly.- Lucy P.

ATorres Construction LLCTorres Construction LLC was referred by a neighbor here in Port St. Joe Beach, Fl. After contacting Mr. Torres a meeting time was set for the following day. Mr. Torres arrived promptly, he was courteous and he came prepared to discuss the outdoor patio shower. First, he listened to our ideas and answered our questions regarding the design and materials available. He then showed pictures of outside showers he had constructed in our area and guided us on the preferred materials for a beach area. After deciding the type shower we liked, he then prepared a quite reasonable and acceptable estimate. Surprisingly, he was prepared to begin the project the next day. The quality and craftsmanship in the finished shower were excellent. In fact, his company will now begin on our kitchen renovation and interior painting projects. I highly recommend Mr. Torres and his company for any construction projects in your future. It has been a pleasure working with Mr.Torres and the professional work his company provides. CBurke Home Improvement and RepairsOn 01/23/20 a worker came to my door and sold me on re-coating my driveway with asphalt and in his sales pitch stated that they'd be rolling the asphalt out with a roller. When they came to do the work the next day they did not have a roller which is used to pack the asphalt in place and said they would be using a vibrating power packer to pack the asphalt. I was not ok with this and told them "no thank you". They then left and returned and after further discussion I agreed to pay an additional $300 for them to rent a roller so that they could perform the job to my satisfaction. When completed, Shaun Burke said he would come back to seal the driveway. On Jan 25th I inquired about sealing and was told that 30 day cure time is required for asphalt to cure before sealing. I phoned Mr Burke on Sunday 02/23/20 and he said he'd be by on Monday 02/24/20. He did not show nor call to say he wouldn't be. When I inquired he became rude in his text responses when I told him I would expect him on Tuesday to seal the driveway and he stated that I could eat the sealing agreement, stating further that sealing was not in the contract even though we never had a written contract and the whole deal was sealed with a handshake. I guess handshakes aren't as valuable as they once were when a handshake was a man's word. Mr Burke then stopped communicating with me when a friend stepped in on my behalf. Mr Burke told my friend he would be by to seal by end of week, March 7th. Again a no show, no call. He then said Monday (9th) or Tues (10th) after returning my friends call to find out what happened and why he no show.. Again NO show while the driveway crumbles due to inferior material being heavily rained upon. The quality of the work (leftover material spread out at the foot of the driveway) which made the street higher than the driveway which does not allow for water to flow into the street off of the driveway. The material is sub standard as well as rocks are showing on the surface. Rocks that are popping out creating holes when it rains. In my opinion sealing would be part of the job to prevent this from happening. He finally came to seal but did not do a thorough job. I called but my calls went unanswered. In order for me to protect my investment from further damage I wound up having to apply 2 coats of sealer to "close" the surface of the exposed aggregate.- Mario M.

FChapman's tractor serviceLowballed the quote so I hired him $5000 to clear the lot. A week and a half into it he calls stating that he needed more money due to rain making it muddy for the equipment he had. He doesn’t own his own equipment so he rents the smallest cheapest equipment that couldn’t get the job done. He wants an extra $2000 which I gave to him, a week later he tells me he’s done the best he can under the circumstances! I went to the lot and it was a mess, wish I could upload pictures. Don’t hire this guy, get a professional and pay a little more you will save in the long run. I had to pay a professional $3500 to Clean up his mess. Chapman wanted to cover all the palmetto Roots and wood scraps with fill dirt which when it rotted it would have sunk and cause structural damage to my house! Don’t hire this guy. I have been in the Fence Business since 1983 and we are a family owned and operated company. We do all our work ourselves and do not sub-contract our work out. We bill 1/2 to start the job and balance on completion of job. We take all credit cards but do not have any in house financing.

CWe hired them to perimeter fence our farm with no climb horse wire with wood on top. Approximately 7 acres of that type of fence. We also have a 13 acre pasture that we wanted fenced in RAMM flex fence. I specifically asked if they had experience with RAMM because it works on a tension system and needs to be installed specifically according to the manufacturer. Melanie said they did have experience with it and it would be no problem. While the crew did a good job on the perimeter fencing, they had no idea what they were doing with the RAMM fencing. They didn't brace corners/gates properly, and I had to hire another company to uninstall and reinstall what was messed up. And when I went to pay Melanie the final payment, there was an additional $4000+ added to her original quote. She said she had missed 200 feet of fencing when she did the estimate.

ADwight from Cornerstone Construction is the REAL deal! I am probably one of the pickiest people when it comes to contractors. I have never liked a single one, but Dwight is absolutely wonderful. They have remodeled our entire kitchen (removed our whole old kitchen and replaced it with a brand new kitchen including appliances, exhaust, backsplash, etc) - it looks perfect, which I NEVER say. I have no conflict of interest....I am tired of contractors who don't do a good job so when I found Dwight, I was ecstatic. I have used his company for the build out of my medical office and always refer our friends and family to him.
