Landscaping reviews in Bradenton

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I can't possibly say enough good things about Richard and Vic. These guys have worked incredibly hard over the last 3 months doing a huge amount of work on our house. They worked 12+ hours almost every day, 6 days a week, and never let their work get sloppy or imprecise. I knew I needed a lot of work done and went searching on Angie's list to find the right people. I saw other reviews about them and reached out with a long list of tasks. Richard and Vic came over as soon as they could (which wasn't immediately but was worth the wait - it's just them and they are constantly working). I showed them the list and we agreed on a few tasks to get started. They spray washed the house, replaced some splintered boards on my front porch, and fixed the walkway leading to the porch by removing the pavers, then the branch underneath that had buckled them, leveling everything and replacing the pavers. It looks great, and so does the porch. After that, I asked them to come back and finish our open-air laundry room (it's an old house with various additions made over many years). They took the time to plan it out, offer a variety of options for the walls, windows, and screen door. The end result looks fantastic and our laundry machines are now much better protected from the elements. With 2 projects completed on time and within budget, I asked them to repair the hardwood floors in the front of our house. The house is old and we were hoping to keep as much of the original floor as possible. We've had some termite damage but it looked like much of the floor was undamaged. We also wanted the house to feel a bit more sturdy and solid when walking across the floor. Unfortunately we did discover more termite damage as the project progressed and we had to replace the entire floor. Along the way, though, they added additional joists to support the floor. They also discovered some damage to one of the main supports holding up the house and took time to repair it. They found many small issues that needed to be fixed as the project went on and they took the time to fix it instead of just covering it up and ignoring it like many others would. The project was bigger and way more complicated than anyone expected - that's just part of life with a house that's over 100 years old. They worked long, hard hours to get us back into the house as soon as possible, but maintained their attention to detail even when they were absolutely exhausted. Oh... and no matter how late they stopped, they cleaned up after themselves every single day. The final result is a beautiful hardwood floor that feels substantially more solid than what we had before. It was a lot to spend, but I know the value of the home is now higher by at least as much as the expense. It's also keeping the cool air inside. The AC doesn't need to work nearly as hard as it did before and I'm sure the electricity bill will be way down in the future. Bottom line - these guys are the most professional, highest quality craftsmen I've ever worked with. These are the guys you're looking for.

  • I was very impressed with the workmen and the excellent equipment they brought to do the job. They were respectful, courteous and went right to work. They were on time and did exactly what I was told they would do. They wet the shrubbery around the house to not do damage to the plants and not one leaf turned yellow from the chemicals. They used a large scrubbing machine on the paver walkways and that had never been done by previous workmen. They were the most expensive quote I received from 2 other companies but I'm happy to say that you only get what you pay for. I am so happy I chose Gorilla Kleen as my house is going on the market in October and this is the best cleaning job I have ever gotten.

  • Went perfectly. No complaints here. Peter the owner worked side by side with his hard working staff. My job was labor intensive. Lots of dirt had to be moved. They worked hard lifting the concrete stone for the wall.

  • This company was introduced by and requested to take over from our previous provider. He offered to provide the same services at the same price. Due to the changeover, our landscaping got somewhat out of control. We offered owner, Brian Williams, to pay extra to get the extra work done, which he did. Basically no issues until about month 11. Again our trimming was neglected and because we complained when he didn’t show as promised, Mr Williams chose to terminate working for us, sighting that we were paying less than his existing base rate. Mr Williams never requested an increase for services and apparently had lost all but one other client in Central Park. We were given about a weeks notice and again we were left needing to pay someone else extra to clean up our landscaping that we had paid Brian Williams to do. Very disappointed.

  • There were a few good plants with our new construction home, but we we not happy with most of the plant choices, the quantity or the size if the planting beds. JR and his team helped layout a new upgraded landscape that surrounded the house with much easy to maintain, Florida friendly plants and trees. The team dug out the grass, relocated and upgraded irrigation, relocated almost every existing plant, added all the new ones and mulched the whole thing. All of the work took a solid two days in the middle of summer.

  • PROS: Good price. Estimate process was easy with the certified arborist. Fast response and scheduling. The crews behaved professionally while working, and they worked seriously. CONS: The lead person did not finish the oak tree before the storm and never came back to finish it. I had to call and make an issue of it. The lead person said, oh, I thought the customer liked it that way (all crooked and with branches hanging down). The crews must have known they were tearing up the street with their mobile equipment, yet they continued to tear multiple holes in the asphalt throughout the day without mentioning it. Management takes no responsibility and will no longer respond to my attempts to even get someone out to look. They say the damage was because the road surface was new, but the damage goes well below the spray-on road surface that has been in place for about four months. Finally, the crews did not even look at the certified arborist/estimator's paperwork (I was told this by the lead person), and depended on me to tell them exactly what to do instead. The arborist is not present during the work. The cleanout work was acceptable only after I made them go back and remove more deadwood and debris.

  • OUTSTANDING! Bucky and team provided a fast, efficient, most professional job, including how to care for new foliage. They work weekends including Sundays as needed to accommodate customers. Foliage is very good quality. Bucky walked the proerty and discussed options. Very happy with this service.

  • Jay was very responsive from my first call; he did an in person estimate the same day. He scheduled the removal the day after a holiday and he and his team arrived early (he notified me by email they would be early.) They removed the tree, all associated debris and covered the area. I plan to use Southern Comfort Tree Service for other tree and landscape work

  • Emerald Tree and Landscaping trimmed our palms, some other trees and a big hedge. They removed a magnolia and replaced with a palm. The job was very professional, everything looks much better than before and they cleaned up everything before they left. We will use them again and will happily recommend them. Excellent quality service at a good price.
