Kitchen renovation

Overall the project turned out very nice and was completed ahead of schedule. There were some minor glitches that could have become bigger problems if I didn't point them out during construction. Like most complicated projects with multiple workers specializing in different phases, it requires active monitoring of the project to be sure it is being done according to plans. There wasn't much supervision by the contractor but the workers would check with the owner when changes needed to be made. Workers were very pleasant and professional. Office staff usually very responsive.

Kitchen remodel

The remodels was started with poor workmanship. Plastic sheeting was hung from a ceiling fan to keep dust out of the kitchen, the ceiling fan subsequently did not work and had to be repaired. The job itself was ok, but there were many delays and somewhat mediocre workmanship. The entire kitchen was torn out and replaced, as well as a wall taken down. The cabinets were not measured properly, and had to be replaced. Although they did correct issues, overall the problems were not worth all the issues.

Provided a kitchen cabinet design and estimate for the job.

The design was acceptable, but the price was extremely inflated. During our consult, the designer recommended Forevermark Cabinetry and gave me a price of somewhere between $6,500 and $7,000 for the cabinets with installation. The price seemed high, given the fact that Home Depot had given me a ballpark estimate of around $2,500 to $3,000. Keep in mind that my kitchen is very small. I did not sign a contract that day and the following day researched the cabinets online to see if I could find any reviews about their quality. I pulled up a website called Stock Cabinets Express that sells the same cabinets. Long story short, I have ordered my cabinets directly from Stock Cabinets Express for a total amount of $1,868. I have an experienced cabinet installer lined up to remove my current cabinets and install the new ones for $620. I realize that businesses have to make a profit, but Mr. Kitchen's pricing seemed slightly outrageous. Another thing that I did not like was that the designer tried very hard to dissuade me from going with quartz countertops and was pushing very hard for granite. That really turned me off. I'm sure they turn a better profit on granite. In conclusion, Mr. Kitchen offers quality products, the design work presented was acceptable, but their pricing is unreasonable. I would not recommend them to others.

Kitchen refurbished

Designer made gross errors in measurements and electrical placement that did not become evident until after the job was started. Craftsmanship of technician was good, but VERY slow. Although the overall job looks beautiful there are many mistakes that should have never happened (a wall outlet is inside a cabinet and had to be covered. The center island is not centered under the highhats because of poor electrical design. Owner was argumentative every step of the way. I woud not use them again.

Entire kitchen remodel.

They did a very good job. The quality of their cabinets and the wood that they used was first class. Quality craftsmanship. My only complaint is that they weren't very punctual at times. I believe they have improved that now. Overall they did a great job. Their follow up was very good as well.

They remodeled my bathroom.

They built a magnificent custom vanity for me with a beautiful granite top and new sink. It was built in their shop by their carpenter. They changed the shower door. They installed two hanging cabinets to match the vanity, re-cut and framed my mirror, and installed new lighting between the cabinets. They were very responsive to any of my concerns. The work took longer than I expected. They cleaned up after themselves and did not make a mess.

The staff was friendly. However, they offered me in-stock doors that were not what I really wanted and they were more expensive than the full custom cabinets I ordered from another company.

Asked them to come and give us an estimate for remodeling the kitchen with new cabinets.

We stopped in to Mr. Kitchen and set up an appt for someone to come and measure for a free estimate. Deborah came out to the house promptly as scheduled, measured, and discussed some redesign options. She then invited us to the showroom where she spent several hours with us going over some possible designs on the computer. My husband and I asked what must have seemed like endless questions, but Deborah and the other staff members were very pleasant and helpful. Mr. Kitchen offers a full service kitchen remodel, handling everything from the cabinets to the flooring and painting, and even structural changes. At the showroom you can shop for everything all at once, which is very appealing to people who don't have time to shop around to find their tile, painters, etc. They were one of several quotes we obtained and their prices were very competitive. Unfortunately, we finally opted not to redo the kitchen at all due to more pressing needs that cropped up suddenly, but if you are looking for a complete remodel job, they are definitely worth a look.
