I called and they said they would come out at the end of the week, or the beginning of the next. I did not hear from them, so I called again. The office employee said I should get a call shortly. This happened 4 times over the next week. I hired someone else, but as of today (5weeks later), they have not called.

Called service and got an answering machine. The service manager called later in the day and we set up appointment for the following week. Mike, the service rep, was here ahead of time. He was professional and handled a dangerous problem in 45 minutes. Expected to pay much more.

    Ron's Airport Transportation
Driver made contact day before our pickup date. I had given him wrong pickup time but he had looked up flight number and knew the correct time. We had to wait for one of our party because luggage was delayed getting to passengers. He was not upset about that at all. I did give him an extra tip amount because of that. On our trip back to airport he was a few minutes early. Quite a pleasant, cordial fellow was he.

I had used Jose previously to do a mini-service on the motor of my boat when I first purchased it. I store the boat in a local storage facility. He did a good job overall with doing the service and ended up replacing the fuel line. He works out of his mini-van but seems to keep things well stocked in terms of parts. For this job I was looking to have him replace the tilt/trim motor which was failing. He came with his assistant and looked it over. He started to do some work by checking the electrical connections in the boat motor (which I later came to find he reconnected backwards; up was down and down was up). He started to remove the tilt/trim motor but then stopped saying he could not get the tilt/trim motor removed due to a stuck screw. He wanted me to bring it up to his home to work on it so he could "hot shot" the screw to get it out. I told him I would figure out a schedule and be in touch. I paid him (always in cash) and he took off. He quoted me that it would be at least  $200 for a new tilt/trim motor in addition to the labor. I looked around online for a new tilt/trim motor and found one brand new in the box from a marine supply store for $136. Once I had the new tilt/trim motor, I had a friend who owns a boat look at the old tilt/trim motor. He saw right away that the old tilt/trim motor would come out just by moving the boat motor bracket. We went home, grabbed the needed tools, and we had the tile/trim motor replaced and running in about an hour. Not sure exactly what that says about Jose and his work but I will likely use a different provider for any service needs in the future.

He has serviced 2 boats for me in the past. He does excellent work at a reasonable price. Not like many of the area marine shops and mechanics that believe they can take advantage of the snow birds and also believe that all of us have money like some of the snow birds.
Jose is fantastic and although very busy (must tell you something), always is on time.
He's done many things but here are a few
    Service my engine
    bottom paint
repairs on the boat in general
    install bimini top
    trailer work

Prior research was worth it. The contract is pretty broad so it would be a good idea to be specific as to what you expect. I specified that all of the lift pilings had rebar installed . It is a good idea to have the initial consultation done at low tide.Jose did the work and I found him to be knowledgeable and conscientious.

He is professional and timely, and most importantly,  honest. He always cleans the boat when he gives it back. Its top notch service at a reasonable price. I recommend him to everyone I know that has a boat. In my previous boat he re did all my seat cushions, which is a lot on a deck boat, changed gauges, and much more.

    Lady Helen Fishing Charters
Captain Jeff charters the Lady Helen which is a 29 ft twin diesel fishing boat.  Sportfishing in Ft Lauderdale is usually centered at the main marina on the intercoastal waterway which is crowded and parking is a hassle. The Lady Helen is berthed in a slip in a residential area with easy parking. The boat is very clean and well organized.  Captain Jeff is middle aged, well mannered and really wants his patrons to enjoy themselves.  He works the boat alone so we were asked to steer as he put out lines which was fun.  Captain Jeff explained exactly what his strategy would be during the day for catching Mahi Mahi.  We went out about 10 miles and he began to troll.  Many Captains I have gone with just go to an area where others have caught fish and troll back and forth hoping to stumble upon fish. However Captain Jeff steered the boat from his high seat and scanned the horizon with binoculars. He saw birds and made a beeline for the spot. Soon we were surround by a school of beautiful Mahi Mahi. Each person in our party of four had fish on their line.  Captain Jeff helped us land our fish, removed the hook and rebaited us. We had a great time and asked to stop when we had caught our limit. Then we went to fish for other species.  We had a great time.  After taking pictures at the dock, the afternoon Florida summer thunderstorms set in. Captain Jeff filleted the catch for us in the rain as I held a golf umbrella over us. He was always cheerful during this uncomfortable task. I tipped him well!  I highly recommend going out on the Lady Helen.

    Hotels.com
I saw the deal for the hotel stay on the computer first.  I then called them to make the reservation.  They said for seven days it would be $921.35 for a week.  This was a four star hotel.  I talked to the gentleman and he stated that he would send a confirmation on the computer.  When the confirmation came it talked about two people and two beds.  I did not need this, it is only me traveling.  I called the man and he said the best price is for two people two beds was a little over $1800.00.  I made this reservation in good faith and became very upset at this time. He told me that I could cancel with nothing to worry about.  They then sent me the cancellation and it had a fee over $150.00.  I made a reservation with the same hotel calling them directly and was able to get a hotel room for  $970.00 paying just a little over what Hotel.com orginially quoted me, and about half of what they put on my confirmation.
