    Crystal River Firestone

    First let me say this is an independently family owned Firestone Dealership. You will not find them on the locate a Firestone near you on Firestones website  which is actually a plus since I don't go to Firestones.  They were recommended to me by another auto repair shop that does not have alignment equipment.

    I had some struts and front bushings put in my car  by another repair shop. When I got the car back the steering wheel was crooked at the 1 o'clock position driving straight. I bought it to another shop with top of the line equipment and they aligned the car again. The wheel was still crooked. They then turned the front tie rods to move the steering wheel more to center. It was still crooked and  I am thinking now the alignment is screwed up.

    I took the car today to Crystal Firestone and they did the alignment which was out of spec  and the steering wheel is now perfectly straight.

    They also have top of the line Hunter equipment but so did the other shops have new other brands . It means it still is the man behind the machine not how sophisticated the equipment  is.  While I live in this area I will not take my car to anyone else for front end work.  I plan on using them in the future for other work since the other shops did general repairs also. The other shops work was not that great and I had to correct a lot of little things like my seat belts being put in backwards.  If Crystal River Firestone other work is as good as their front end work they will be getting a lot of future  business from me.

    I have been using the company for about 7-8 years. The staff is very professional and Gary does great work. I like that they are local and convenient. I never have to wait long to get my car in and they usually get the car back to you when they say they will.

    Air conditioner was evacuated and recharge. Passenger vent was 20 degrees cooler than driver side. This was mentioned after service was performed. Had it recharged a few months later at another shop and vents were all within 5 degrees of each other. So the recharge at the other shop was in my opinion done by a better technician since nothing else was change on the car. This is the only service I had performed at Tires plus so I cant comment on any of their other type of work.

    I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY OWN CARS FOR THE LAST 50 YEARS. I am at the age now over 70 where for the last 6 months I have been farming out some of the heavy lifting to All county Automotive. I have a 1999 Grand Prix with over 160,000 miles which I decided to completely rebuild. Over the last six months I have paid to have some engine work and the whole suspension redone. I have brought the car to All county a number of times and Nick and I seem to speak the same language. He believes in using premium parts and will bundle the work to save you money. What I mean by bundle if a component needs to be replaced and there is an iffy part next to it he might suggest replacing that part also since it will be a lot cheaper than taking the car apart again in the near future to get at that part.

    An example is I wanted all  the front bushings and ball joints replaced along with the struts. I mentioned that for quit awhile I had a vibration in the car at certain speeds that was not due to tire balancing. He suggested that on my model car it was common the CV joints would cause this and since everything was apart it might be worthwhile to change them at this mileage. Well he was right on. The car rides better than when it was new. The ride is rock solid with no vibration. At this point I would have to be nuts to go out and spent $25,000 on a new car when I am now driving one.

    I have been to a number of auto repair shops in the Beverly Hills and crystal River arrears who have suggested repairs on my cars that were completely unnecessary. All county is not one of them.

    Sales and demo part went fine and the sale was completed the same day. I was given a phone to contact the financial institution and then they handled the rest. Computers are amazing these days. Papers signed with this institution I trust went quickly and we drove home the same day. The following morning we did have problems due to our fuzzy familiarity with the operation of the Toyota Hybrid and it took some convincing to get someone on the phone to assist, but past that we have no complaints and 40+ mpg. I would highly recommend this dealership

    They were upfront with me. In fact I waited there until the car was done. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. The price they charge was not expensive and I didn't feel like I was overcharged. I didn't feel like they told me something was wrong that wasn't wrong. I felt like they were honest and upfront. They were good, I enjoyed them and they were pleasant.

    Car was cleaned, however it was not done properly. The interior seats were still dirty and mats were not cleaned. Dirt was still on side view mirrors. When I pointed this out, I was told the job was done.

    I've been going there for years and they do check-ups, oil changes, and anything that needs to be done. They're always helpful and you don't feel like you've been gouged. They just take good care of you. They also have a plan where you earn points and you could spend them however you want. The points are dollars and right now I have $28, so if I want to use it for an oil change I can or let it grow and use it on something bigger. I can't tell you exactly how you earn it, but it has added up for me and I've used it. Their prices are very fair and I will be going back to them probably in a month or so.

    Went in to replace the brakes on our car. Mechanic found another problem with the front suspension. Although they provided an estimate for $1600, we did not anticipate having a large repair bill when it was supposed to be an ordinary brake job. Our mistake was in going ahead with the repair without getting other estimates. After a friend who repairs cars looked over our bill, we found out that the labor cost was generally in line with other shops, but the price we got charged for parts was 2-3X higher than the usual cost charged by shops. I went in and confronted Gary. He tried to justify the price he had charged us, stating that he has to pay retaill price to have parts delivered to his store and that is why the high mark up (a lie according to our friend). We will avoid this shop at all costs as he overcharges for his work and is dishonest in justifying his charges. My husband thought he seemed like such a personable guy, but we found out that he will try to make as much money as he can off of you. After all this, our brakes now squeak when they did not before the repair.
