    It was a terrible experience. They had our mower for quite a long time, when we hadn't heard anything from them we stopped in. The manager, "Bob" stated he had tried to call us but didn't have any record of when. My husband showed him his phone to prove that he had never called us. He went to the back room to get our mower and stated that he couldn't find it and could we come back later. We went there a couple of times with the same result, couldn't find our mower. His first story was that our mower got put out front with the used mowers that are for sale and somebody must have "taken" it. He offered what was supposed to be a comparable mower to replace our "misplaced" mower. When we got it home, we discovered that it had a terrible gas leak, so we returned it. He then gave us a mower that we couldn't even get running long enough to make one pass on our yard. This happened at the end of the growing season and we didn't get a chance to take it back right away. When we took it back he claimed there was nothing wrong with that mower and we must have destroyed it. He also changed his story on what happened to ours and said that it was in the back and somebody stole it by lifting it over a six foot fence. He also said there were at least 5 mowers missing. At this point we felt we weren't going to get any satisfaction from "Bob, the manager" and asked for the owners name and phone number. He wouldn't give us the information but said he would ask for the owner to contact us. That never happened. I made a phone call to him and asking again for the owner's information. This time he said he was the owner. At this time I asked for proof that he had filed a police report and asked for a copy of it. He hung up on me. My husband called Orange County Sheriff and met them there. "Bob the manager/owner" even gave the Sheriff deputy a hard time. He claimed he'd never seen my husband before and didn't know what he was talking about. By the way, we were charged $38 for the repair and he didn't refund that either even though we never got our lawn mower back. Earlier this year we find another customer who's story was exactly almost word for word the same as ours. I

    They had this mower for over a month because it took so long for the ordered cables to arrive. This situation was aggravated by the shop ordering the wrong cable(s) initially. They were loathe to give me a price break on the total because of the unusually long wait, during which I had to pay to have my lawn mowed, because the cables were so expensive and they told me they were already giving me a break on the price of those. Apparently the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) charged the shop double what they would have charged me for the same cables (I had gotten a price check from the OEM when I was considering cancelling the repair order with the shop and ordering the cables myself). The OEM quoted me normal delivery times (5 business days or so).

    Perhaps I should have considered replacing the cables myself (I am only a partial mechanical ninny!!) but I have had such good experience with Conway Mower in the past I had thought it would be more efficient to have them order the cables and pay for them to repair the mower as this would have been more efficient (or so I thought at the time), since I was in somewhat of a hurry because I was going out of town.


    I regret this unfortunate experience with a firm that I have done well by in the past, but, because of the impact of the negative experience, would be reluctant to consider them in the near to mid future.

    I took my trimmer in on a Monday.  They told me it would be 5-7 days before it would be ready.  I called after 10days and they said they were "a little behind"  but they would call me when it was ready. After 2 weeks I called again and they said they were "a little behind" but it might be ready the next day. On Wednesday of the 3rd wk, I called again.  They still had no answer for me on where they were in the process.  I showed up there the next day and was told they said they would have it ready by the end of the day and they would call me.  Of course, no call.  I showed up again Friday and after they checked, I heard them trying to start it.  I was extremely upset at the run-around I was receiving and they just said he's working on it---Yeah, because I showed up!.  They called me 10minutes after I left and said it was ready.  It only needed a spark plug. You could say the work was acceptable.  They amount of time, however, was not.  There was no apology.

    THIS SHOPS ONLY DOWN FALL IS THAT IT IS ALWAYS A WEEK OR SO WAIT TO GET THE MOWER SERVICED. I WAS LUCKY THEY DID MY WORK WHILE I WAITED. IT TOOK THEM ABOUT A HALF HOUR TO FIX IT, BUT I WAS GLAD THEY DID THE WORK THEN.

    WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE. I HAVE HAD THE MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR ALL OF MY LAWN MOWERS THROUGH SEARS. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE MOWERS AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN SERVICED.
