    King Kutz Landscaping Inc
Carlos was very responsive and did a great job cutting my lawn. It was overgrown at the beginning of the summer, and he was very helpful in getting it back to a manageable length. The lawn looked great when he was done.

    Davenport Lawn Service LLC
I spoke with Eric, the owner on 8/6/2016. I made it clear that I was not and should not have to pay for this service and babysit. I work the night shift and should not have to stay awake to monitor the work. He required that he be paid 1 month in advance. I questioned that because what if they did a sorry job just like the previous company. He said that because he did someone’s lawn in a gated community he could not collect his money for a job. I was uncomfortable with this arrangement but because he was on Angie’s list I agreed. They came out early the next day and I walked the lawn with Harold (Eric was not there) showing him what needed to be done specifically addressing the purple flowing plant (mentioned in the first paragraph which had grown over ½ way back) This day he did a fantastic job. However, the next time the quality of the work was not as good. It kept going downhill. I was having to making weekly calls about large areas being omitted i.e. the back yard. I don’t have much grass back there but mowing it still makes a huge difference. Plus I was paying for it. Then one day after they had mowed I was walking the lawn and my large flowing plant had been weed wacked down to dirt as well as my scallions but the lawn had not been mowed. I called Eric and told him that I was fuming! I described the mess and he was very apologetic and stated that he would replace the plant. In addition he strongly pleaded with me not contact Angie’s list and to please hang in there with him and he would make thing right. Harold had essentially gone rouge. The following Saturday morning, 07:00 he came out with a new worker Joel to walk the property and view there area where my plant had been. He initially offered to replace it with 6 plants but I told him that 4 would be fine since the entire plant had not grown back. As they were leaving he asked me if I wanted to plant the plants or have them do it (really?). I said that I would prefer that they do it and Joel agreed. Slowly during this time I had a dog that kept digging out from under my privacy fence gate making it difficult to get the mower in the back yard. Joel left me a note, around 09/20 so I called Eric to let him know that I was working on the problem. I ended the conversation with I’ll leave a check for you next week. That is when he said that they would not be out next week; it was winter. So…what does that mean? Eric stated that the grass doesn’t grow that much so they come out every other week. I ask about the cost since now they could only mow the front lawn and come out every 2 weeks. He said the cost was the same; we do other things than lawn services. I was stunned and asked like what? The conversation turned to him stating that he could repair the area under my gate where the dog had been digging. He explained that you just put concrete bag in the hole (it was like a trench, rectangle) put water on it and then smooth it out. I had to decline at this time due to some unforeseen expenses. So for over 3 months now he has been paid for a full months service and only had to mow the front lawn. I finally decided to take him up on his offer to fix the area around and under my fence. He said he would put the concrete down in the hole and then cover it up with dirt. I said I don’t want it covered up with dirt. Also went on to say, this is really simple. The dog has already dug the trench just widen it some, put the concrete in from the post (6”x6” surrounded with concrete) to the middle of the gate where there is also a patch of concrete and the pole on the gate is inserted. Next put and spread out concrete about 2 ft. in front and behind the gate between the post and gate and then smooth it out. Also I requested that he use 5 bags of concrete because I didn’t think that 3 bags would be enough. It should be in the shape of the capital “T”; I didn’t spell that out to him since it was obvious. We agreed to meet Saturday 01/08/17 07:00. I waited and it was raining with lightning. I had not heard from him. I called and initially all he said was “it’s raining”. We again we made arrangements to meet and go over the project on 01/15/17 07:00. Again I got up early on this Saturday morning and it was sprinkling so when he no showed again I assumed that he wasn’t coming. I really didn’t want to call because of the “courteous” reception I received last week. On 01/16/17 I pulled into my driveway and noticed that the dirt was smooth. I called him and asked where he was on Saturday. I don’t recall his exact words but it boiled down to he and someone else had to do something and then pick up the concrete and didn’t get here until about 11:00. Everything at that point looked good but I didn’t like it being covered in dirt. I wasn’t able to see the work. He asked about his check and I said I could mail it to him. He said he was in the area and could pick it up. So I wrote the check and put it outside for him. About 10 minutes later I opened my front door and my dog was there; she dug out again. I inspected the area where she got out it was 7” deep and no concrete was around it. I initially called Eric and he sounded ticked off. He kept saying there was concrete and I said no “I’m looking at it. So I emailed him and later sent him pictures. I had asked him to come back and fix the issues stated above by the end of the week or refund my money. We ended up in a heated email exchange where I kept asking him to fix the problem and him saying he did. I told him that it was all a hot mess and asked him what he was going to do about it. At that point he got rude and asked why should he have to take his time and money to come back out here? "Do you know how far I live from there"? I stated that it was my money he was using and not my fault that he did not do the job correctly. He kept getting louder and louder. At this point I do not want him anyway near my property.

It was a very pleasant experience.  I didn't need to follow him around and he let me know the status of all zones and helped me understand the maintenance involved in having in-ground sprinklers, since I never had them before.  Overall, he was very pleasant and helpful.

I received a verbal estimate for the cost of various jobs. The cost seemed extremely excessive.  I was waiting for a written estimate to better understand how they price each job but never got one.

I am so happy with the transformation in my yard.  Everyone was so professional, and accomondating.  They attend to issues promptly and you feel that they really do care about customer satisfaction.  They even persuaded me against being too radical with some of the plant bed clean-up, and sod..and I am glad they did, because I can see now it really wasn't necessary to go too overboard, and it save me unecessary expense. The work was done quickly and efficiently.  They fixed a last minute irrigation  issue that came up on the spot, and didn't charge labor. I cannot think of anything about their service that wasn't done to my satisfaction..in fact, it surpassed my expectation.  This company demonstrates pride of workmanship and integrity in their business practices.
