    Discount Garage Doors Inc
Quickly renewed all rollers and adjusted tracking. Then greased where necessary. Result was a much quieter and smooth operation. Technician advised obtaining a new draft strip but didn't try to sell any extras. Overall very pleased.

    Garage Door Service Of Tampa
Repairman showed up and did the job. A day later, garage door was not shutting, was cockeyed and jammed. Due to uneven tensioning, cable had derailed off one pulley causing all spring assistance to pull from one side. After a few hours of my own time realigning garage door, bending frame back in place, respooling the pulley and retensioning the spring Inhad it back working. I notified their quality assurance rep with no response. After dinner tonight, it happened again. Likely due to the spring being broken in and loosing strength. After 2 hours and damage to the frame, I was finally able to get the door shut for the evening. Needless to say, I will NOT be calling them back for the repair.

The Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay
Prompt same day service, technician was courteous and professional.  Installation was done quickly and the new opener works great, very quiet.  The price quoted was the price we paid.  I would recommend this company.

    Premier Brick Pavers Inc
Fantastic work, quality and service. From the very initial visit by Lana to walk through the plan, we learned what good service can be about. We had ideas and Premier sent actual tiles to our house of multiple options for us to finalize our plans. Once the work began, the team worked quickly and did their best to keep things clean (not easy when cutting cement for drain lines). The job turned out fantastic and they even recommended a great guy to help clean and fill the pool. I would definitely use Premier again.

He showed up when he promised and was very professional throughout the time.  Work was done efficiently and quickly and we've had zero problems with our door ever since.  I would highly recommend him and use him again if necessary.

    Hilley Construction LLC
Mike had two weeks heads-up before this job was to begin and, if he was going to use subs, that should have been plenty
of time to line them up.
First, I will say that Mike did excellent drywall work.
The work was to take place 4/27 through 5/1 (a Monday through Friday - which I took off of work to be present). He would come over late in the evening, work for a few hour, then leave. On Thursday of that week, I asked him when the roofer was going to arrive. His response was "Well, I have been having a hard time getting any roofers to respond". He hadn't arranged a sub.
Work continued into the following week and still no roofer. I gave him an updated, drop-dead deadline of COB on Thursday 5/7 and he told me the stucco sub would be here on that day. On the day before that, I called him to ask him if he was 100% sure that the stucco sub would be there Thursday. His response was "I thought you said Friday"! He could not arrange a stucco sub. This was a deadline that had been discussed several times as we were moving in on Friday and would have indoor pets on the property after that.
No roofer.  No stucco work.  He put the cart before the horse!  It does not make since to do drywall ceiling and wall work, to repair water damage, before roof and stucco crack water ingress has been repaired.
Additionally, I have asked for his advertised ?10% Angie?s List discount? several times and he has not responded
with an invoice indicating it.  To avoid litigation, I have paid his invoice.
Bottom line? didn?t perform work in the proper order, didn?t finish on the deadline, didn?t finish on the revised deadline.  I dismissed him after we moved in to the property.  I?m left with roof work and stucco work that, until I get it done, could ruin the drywall work that he did.
Note: The "A" in the quality rating pertains ONLY to the drywall work that he performed.

    Witt Fence Co Inc
Witt Fence Company originally installed fencing around part of my back and side yards. I was highly satisfied with the results back then so they were the first ones I called for a minor issue of one of the gates not closing properly. I got an estimate to "reset post" for $185 on 4/13/15. I told the estimator there was no immediate rush to do the job but after three weeks went by my wife called on 5/4/15 and asked when we could expect the work to be done. The company called back on 5/4/15 and said they would come the next day, 5/5/15, if they could get someone down to my area. Less than two hours later on 5/4/15 two men showed up to do the work. They laid out a bag of concrete mix, a wheelbarrow and a fence pole to do the work when one of the men decided that all that was necessary was to push on the gate pole to shift it a few inches which created enough clearance for the gate to work properly. Since that was my ultimate goal I was satisfied with the result. Since the work indicated on the work order really never got done I called the company the next day and asked if the $185 could be adjusted more in line with the work that actually was performed. I spoke to Mr. Garvin who reluctantly dropped the price to $150, saying that was his minimum charge for any work. Nowhere on the estimate does it say anything about a minimum charge. Since his workers were here less than half an hour, the cost equates to $300 per hour for the work; divided by two workers, that's $150 per hour per worker. As a businessman myself, I understand there are other expenses involved, travel time, vehicle, gas etc. but it still comes out to a lot of money for very little work.
I rarely hire anyone that is not on Angie's List but in the future, at least for fencing issues, I will have to shop around some before just assuming a bunch of good ratings indicates superior customer service.

    Seffner Rock & Gravel
It did not go well, upon ordering the rock. The young lady behind the counter asked when I wanted my rock delivered. I said the morning time either 4/23 or 4/24 if you have it available. She responded well what day do you want it and what window. To me, this means that both days are available for morning time frames. So I said Thursday 4/23, what windows do you have available. She looked at me like I was speaking Chinese and asked what time do you want. I told her 9a.m, she didn't indicate that it would be an issue at all. She asked about windows again, in this instance I will say it is highly inconvenient for me to tell you what your delivery schedule looks like. If I want my stones in the morning than I'd say anything in the PM would be out of the question,  I said, "I don't know between 9 and 12?" She implied she needed a bigger window, in which I stated "I can't do it later than 2pm as my children have class at 2:30pm, but I want it in the morning"
At no point did this young woman say at all, we have a full schedule, if you'd be willing to switch days or do an earlier delivery than I can accommodate a morning delivery which would have been the professional thing to do. She said nothing but okay I got you scheduled. The driver will give you a call when they are on their way
Day of the Delivery: So here we go, it's 1130am and no call from anyone affiliated with Seffner Rock and Gravel. I call them and speak with a different young lady behind the desk (or so she claims) asking when I should expect my delivery to arrive, I get told all the trucks are out and won't be back for a couple hours and at that point they have to get my order, load up and head my way, so it would be closer to 2-3 hours before they arrived. At this point I am frustrated, I asked the young lady what was the point of scheduling for a window or asking for morning hours if they weren't going to even attempt to follow the schedule. She says there isn't anything she can do but the driver will call me when they are on there way. At this point I was irritated enough to say cancel the order, but I didn't want to deal with a week plus wait to get my money back or find another company and schedule service with them. The young lady wasn't rude or make excuse so it seemed like less of an inconvenience to continue forward as planned.
I get a call from the young lady at 1230, the owner is going to personally handle my order to expedite it, it'll be here between 2 and 2:30 pm. This obviously doesn't fix the scheduling issue, but I resign to provide my feedback directly to the owner when he gets here. I also called my friend, who was with me the day I scheduled to attest to the scheduling manner of the young woman at the desk.  She was present for delivery.
So the truck finally arrives, the owner dumps the full load of rock halfway up my driveway a mere 3 ft in front of my vehicle parked in the driveway (A good portion of rocks shot under the car with a few that bounced off of it) . His truck wasn't that big and dropping the rock took 5 minutes, with no traffic on the road the entire length of his stay. I don't see why he would have dropped the rock further down the driveway where it would have been less of a risk to physical property. When he was finished dropping the rock I went over to provide my feedback to the issues with the scheduling, at this point my two problems were the way scheduling was handled and his choice in drop off locations.
Simply stated not exact words (I will note, there was no inappropriate language used on either end)
Me: When a customer is scheduled for a  morning delivery than provide a morning delivery or tell them it's not possible while scheduling.
His Response: My daughter scheduled it and she would have given you that time if it was available.
Me: In that case, I should have been told my preferred time frame was not available and offered a different time frame or a different date.
His response: Well it's been raining and traffic's bad and you picked your date
Me: I don't know what your business's schedule looks like, I would assume that your daughter would if she is scheduling,  how was I to know you have a scheduling conflict.
Now this conversation continued before I told him to leave in no uncertain terms, it became quite apparent that this man can not take negative feedback, not because it's unwarranted but because he simply doesn't want to hear it. He would rather make excuses for less then adequate customer service and defend his daughter over ensure customer happiness. We didn't even get to the part where we provided feedback about his actual drop off, or the location on the driveway he picked to make it. Good luck for us, the car is our next project or it would have been a bigger issue.
In a customer service industry, even if he felt I was being unreasonable, he could have simply stated he will look into the matter and handle it accordingly. That would have been professional, not the s*** of excuses and statements about rocks not being pizza.
If you feel you must deal with these folks, I would advice making a smaller order and picking it up yourself, there is no price advantage to ordering in bulk and delivery isn't worth the $65.
As far as quality goes, I'll evaluate that on rock size and minor debris found in dumped pile. They sell the rock by 3 sizes, 1/4", 3/4", 1/1/2" I am so happy I went with 3/4" as the rock was not the same as what they had on site when I went to look and place my order. I'd say 40% of what I got was about 1/4-1/2 inch. 40% was between 1/2 to 1" and the final 10% was ranging from 1" and up, we had a nice 6" black rock.  I'd have given it a better rating but the slips of what I assume is weed paper and a few twigs we had to pull out made it drop to just fair. The powdery dust is being washed daily, it's almost gone and tomorrow marks a week, keep in mind that makes this rock more tan than white but expected that when I saw the rocks initially.

    Discount Garage Doors Inc

The door was squealing and needed lubrication.  The technician showed me how/where to lubricate the door in the future.  He explained the parts of the door and upon request recommended an ungraded opener and options when/if I chose to replace my current opener with one that was not as noisy.   Since the previous owner had not left the remote for the door, he coded a universal opener I had purchased.

    Reed's Residential Garage Doors Inc
He personally answered my phone call, scheduled service for the next day and was at my home 5 minutes early. He immediately figured out the problem and fixed it, then he performed general maintenance on the springs, rollers, and sensors. Lubricated rollers, replaced the lightbulb in the motor housing, and then explained to me how to do the maintenance myself in the future. He charged a very fair price of $58 for the service call. Will definitely use again because of honesty, price, professionalism, and punctuality.
