    Joe from H&H called very quickly the morning after I submitted a request on Angie's List. Although it's a busy time (people just starting to turn on our heaters) and H&H's evening hours were booked, Joe said he could accommodate my work schedule with an early morning appointment. I got a call that afternoon to pin down a time, and by 8:00 the next morning, my heater had a new blower capacitor and (at my request) a tune-up. The technician, Pan, called on his way to the house, arrived right on time, was very knowledgeable and professional, and completed the work within the time he estimated. I was so impressed by this company's customer focus that I asked about a spring tune-up for my A/C, and ended up with a nice discount for signing up for their Healthy Home program. The final price included the capacitor replacement (parts/labor) and tune-up, a spring A/C tune-up, 24-hr appointments, and a discount on repairs. So glad I received this recommendation from Angie's List!

    When our old thermostat died on us, H & H came out and gave us options on how to go about replacing it. After talking with them about those options, their recommendation was the option we took...and we couldn't be happier. We have all electric appliances in our house, and have replaced all of them over the years, and never seen a change in our monthly electric bill...until we installed this new control system! It has made a huge difference in our electric bill. It is now literally 40% lower than it was when we moved into our house in 2002.

    This contractor is incompetent, unethical, unfocused and DANGEROUS! He came to our house to give an estimate on a central AC issue. He arrived 20 minutes late. He was uninterested in listening as we tried to explain the problems we were experiencing. He removed the back cover of the outdoor AC unit, looked at it for a few minutes, wrote up an $800 proposal, told us we did not need to pay the $45 service fee because he had included it in the proposal, told us we either had to hire him on the spot or call him within an hour so he could stop back to service it while he was in the area, otherwise he would not come back because we lived too far away from his office. We told him we would NOT hire anybody on the spot, we needed to follow up with our home warranty company, we were getting 5 other proposals from other contractors and would get back to him once all of that was completed. He said he might be able to come back to help us in 7 - 8 days, and he left. As other contractors came out to give their proposals, they noticed that he had left the back panel of the AC unit unattached, exposing the 220 volt wires! They said it was very dangerous and said we should have him return to re-attach the cover ASAP. We called him and he said he would stop back in 1/2 an hour. He did not. We called the warranty company, who then called him, and he told them he would stop back soon. He did not. We called him again and he did not answer. We left a voice message. We called the warranty company again, letting them know he never came back. The next day he told the warranty company that we did not pay the $45 service fee, so he left the wires exposed. How unethical is that? Expose people to 220v because you were too careless to put the covering back on, and then make up some petty comment about how they did not pay you the service fee that is clearly included in the written proposal that you gave them? This man is incompetent, unethical, dangerous, and quite petty. Our advice is to stay away. Don't waste your time, or jeopardize your family's safety.

    They were exceptional. I had investigated the problems with the hvac system with other vendors, and those other vendors, either aggressively suggessted I replace the system which is a considerable cost anywhere from 7- 16k, I contacted weaver on a slight chance that they might be service oriented and ken weaver came to the property in Wilmingotn DE, and examined the system and worked on it for 2 and half hour to analyze and workj on the problem. and he restored a dead system and have worked in a reasonable price compared to replacing the whole system. I was delighted and told him that if the system did not continue to work, I will grant him to replace the system in the future, the system developed a leak about 2-3 weeks later, I called Ken on an emergency, and he came that same day, over the 4th of July week, corrected the problem which was minor, and did not charge me for the additional service. I was totally delighted that I found a person with integrity who is not going to exploit the problem. I would recommend him extremely highly.

    My services are still under warranty. However, I bought a new heating and air conditioning system from them 1.5 years ago. So far the thermostat completely broke about one year out. Now I am sitting in the heat because something is wrong with the air conditioning internally. They can't fix it because it is Sunday. So I will now spend my second night without air conditioning as it broke on Saturday night. They are supposed to have some cooling units they can give you temporarily, but of course none were available. So it is going to be 88 degrees today and I am sitting here with a relatively new air conditioner that doesn't work. Also one of the owners Brian gave me his cell number and when I call it, he doesn't answer and never calls back. So I am very angry right now, thus I wrote this to get it out of my system.

    I was told by two HVAC companies that my evaporator coil had an R-22 freon leak. We just moved into the house and had an issue with condensation traveling along a air duct/tube into a 2nd floor closet and causing extensive mold. We called a well known local HVAC contractor and we were talked into $3800 of new insulation r-4 to r-8 and remounting our air handler “properly’ even though it was performing perfectly. This $3800 of work was done in March and in April I needed to run the air conditioner for the first time. After 24 hours it started to blow warm air. I check the air handler the next day and saw that the drip pan was filled with water. I called the contractor who came out to survey the issue. The tech said I had a evap coil leak and then charged me $122 for the visit. Keep in mind immediately after spending $3800 the unit stopped working after the first use. I called the contractor salesman/owner who talked me into the $3800, but he never answered. Instead he sent a text saying “I hear you have a evap leak – I will send you a quote for a new system.” He emailed me quote for $7200 on top of the $4k I paid him to break my system. I was appalled at this complete and utter lack of customer service. I assumed at this point I could get new evap coil for $2-3k or just get a new r-410 A/C system. I decided to educate myself as much as possible. I found out that the evap coil was replaced by the previous home owner in 2015. So the contractor who had done the $3800 of work somehow managed to break a virtually new evap coil. I reached out to Jerry at Wright Design. We spoke 30-40 minutes about air conditioners new, old, and future. All the layman information I had gleaned over the last several weeks I bounced off Jerry for his opinion. I never felt rushed or like he needed to get off the phone. Jerry had some theories about the evap coil and told me he’d send his son up the next morning. His son Mike showed up and spent 30 minutes with me until I had to go to work. He said he wanted to test a few things to see if this coil could be fixed. Convinced I had a leak and needed a new one, I told Mike that I appreciate his effort to salvage this unit but not to spend too much of his time (or my money) seeing if this unit could be fixed since I was already resigned to buying a new one. I went to work and 4 hours later got a call from my wife saying that Mike didn’t find an evap coil leak and was able to fix the air handler. It has been a week and everything is working flawless. I am indebted to Jerry and Mike for their honesty and knowledge. Mike could have easily sold me on a new evap coil for $2500 and I would have perfectly content. Instead he saved me $2100 by busting his butt for 4 hrs to discover the real issue. With this new house purchase I’ve been dealing with many contractors, a lot have left me wanting to do the work myself, but none as much as the HVAC companies that have advised me-they make used car salesmen look like saints. That is until I called Wright Design. It was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in recent memory. My system is 13 years old and will likely need to be replaced in the next 5 years. There is no doubt in my mind that Wright Design will be installing my new one.

    They were very punctual, professional, and thorough. They took care to keep the house and basement clean while they replaced the 27 year old units. They even took care of a small gas leak at the hot water heater. They were persistent in finding where the gas leak was and then making sure they completely fixed it. When they were done installing the new units, they explained everything they did and how to use the new items. It was easy to see that Jeff and Billy really like their jobs.
