Home Security System reviews in Wilmington

  • It went fine and the system works well. I did recommend GuardMe to a neighbor, who signed up for it, and it works fine for them, as far as I know. However, I think these alarm services are pretty much the same and I would advise people to call around for prices. The installation is one thing, but be careful about the monthly fees, which can be high to cover the cost of the equipment. After my contract expired, I was able to negotiate a monthly fee that is about half what I was paying previously.

  • Upon receiving all of the equipment, installation instructions, and support from SimpliSafe, I was able to install the system quickly and easily.  There is no contract and their monthly rate is fair. I would highly recommend this system to anyone shopping for a home security system.  You can customize the components to meet your needs.  And the best part is that there are no wires to run so you can place the sensors anywhere you need them.  It has a battery back-up system in case you lose electricity.  I was skeptical of how well it would work but I was extremely please at their response time when my alarm was tripped.  It works perfectly. They get an A+ rating from me!

  • I have been using Guardian for home monitoring for 9 years. Recently, they cancelled my automatic bill pay unbeknownst to me. I then got a call saying I was overdue, I paid those charges. 3 weeks later, I received a call saying I was still overdue. After some back and forth on why I was withdrawn from automatic payment and on how there were additional amounts overdue despite my payment 3 weeks earlier, I was told those overdue charges were waived. I then received a collections letter and call looking for the waived amount. In addition, I was told Guardian was sending my mail to my old home address. Odd, when I first moved, my mail was coming to the correct address, but 8 months later, it was sent to a home I had sold. If Guardian's record keeping is so flawed, I can only wonder how well it's monitoring my home. As soon as my contract is up, I am switching companies. Do not use Guardian.

  • It worked very well. I liked that it was easy to install specially when you get a friend of the family do it for you. It covered our needs. It was done right away. It covered a lot of stuff we were concerned about. Not only breaking and entering but also motion detection, fire, changes in water that will alert the police or the fire department. It was comprehensive to put it that way. It checks for build up of water downstairs. That was very nice, we have a lot of peace of mind with that. They followed up with phone calls when there had been problems. We like them a lot. The price is excellent.

  • Self install kit was easy to put up and  only took a few minutes. When I called to activate the system they walked me through the whole system and I have been using it for  4 days now without any problems.

  • I spoke with a representative with their company. The description of their security system seemed very complete however it was much more expensive than Simplisafe which was the company I went with. I received a couple followup calls from the representative which was kind of annoying but pretty painless.

  • Went fine. The stuff arrived as promised and was easy to install. You call their customer service line and they walk you through the install and the activation. Pretty seamless and easy to do. The customer service link is great and the smartphone app is easy to use.

  • Installation went without a hitch. They were even able to reschedule for later in the day after a scheduling conflict came up for us a few days before. Installation took about three hours, and when it was complete they took plenty of time to walk us through the system, how it works, and how to test it. They set up the and quot; This home is protected by...and quot; signs out front and were off.
During the quote and service installers and quoters put up fantastically with our puppies, who wanted to do nothing but lick them to death, and were professional the whole time.
Obviously Action has a lot of cost upfront for the install, where several larger companies are and quot;freeand quot; or a few hundred dollars. Action does not lock you into a contract, though, and their monthly monitoring fees are substantially lower, which presented them as a much better value long-term. You also own the equipment after install, so it's ours now.

  • After receiving his late, over-priced estimate, he did apologize for the tardiness and admitted to "dropping the ball".
We used someone else to complete the work because we needed it done in a timely manner.

  • I paid them more than $1000 to install my system then paid monthly fees after that. I was told that the first three years would be a contract, and would supplement the cost of my system, and my understanding was that after that, my monthly monitoring would be month to month.
I was shocked to find that they had automatically renewed my contract for three year increments and that this was buried in the lengthy contract I'd signed at the outset. After nearly nine years of paying on time, month in and month out, they made me pay nearly $200 to buy the contract out when I moved. The only way not to have to pay the fee was if I installed another system with them in my new home... but I had a hard-wired system in my new home and they wouldn't support that (they only do wireless systems). Regardless, after being a customer for more than 8 years, paying their high monthly monitoring cost, my system had more than been paid for. I was disappointed to find that this company is one of those whom use fine print in their contract to trap customers. I also found that their monthly charges are higher than the competition. I would never recommend this company in the future.
